bellabloom replied to bellabloom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's not constant anymore. It's gotten so much better. Mostly I'm just running into trouble if I drink while I eat it if I eat too fast. Thank you everyone for your input. It's definitely a hard process -

Keep in mind Bella, EVERYONE wants to get to 100%. True. What I'm trying to say is don't go in with the mindset of "I want to lose x amount, but statistically I'll probably only lose xx amount." Thats setting yourself up for only losing 65%! This game is mental more than anything and our minds can manifest outcomes!! Go in fully confident in yourself committed to doing what it takes to get to your goal weight. I've seen many more people here achieving goal weight than not. -
Gosh that is incredible!!!

Stupid things people say when they find out you've had surgery....
bellabloom replied to Awjones28's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Before I was considering surgery, my family would make comments all the time about how concerned and worried they were about how fat I had become. They were worried about my health etc. my future. How much I ate. They didn't understand why I wouldn't choose to lose weight in a heathy way, likes its so easy... -

Who am I to scold anyway. I drink alcohol and eat Taco Bell. course I'm below goal weight! Hang in there, stay strong, get to goal weight, and chocolate will perhaps be an occasional indulgence that you can handle. But now isn't the time! -

I don't understand why you couldn't just have some willpower and shit your mouth. You don't need to change your diet just get active. Being overweight isn't the problem it's your attitude and inactive lifestyle. I just want you to be more "fit" and "active". (My ex) I thought you were fine fat. Just eat more vegetables. I'll just fuck the fat off you. my personal favorite. Don't even get me started on the stuff my family said before I was considering surgery!!! About how "worried" they were about me -
You know you lost weight when
bellabloom replied to Thomas CPA's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When the skinny Asian girls at the nail salon are teasing you about how tiny you are and squeezing your tiny waist in their tiny hands! When you try on a shirt from the little girls section at target and it fits. Ha. Yeah. I'm really petite. -

I love what you say about it not being about weight as much as living a healthy life in all ways. I get way too fixated on numbers. I can't even connect the number to what I see in the mirror. It doesn't seem to matter how thin I look, I'm more concerned with the scale shows. I know it's really unhealthy. My therapist and I discuss it all the time. I don't want to live in fear either and I am. I so relate to what your saying. Why did I do this if only to live in the same sort of fear prison. Having an eating disorder is one of the most difficult mental illnesses to live with. I've struggled with this since I was in college and it's hugely affected my life. It was a risk doing this surgery because of this issue I have, I knew it could go the other way and trigger anorexia when I did the surgery which is why I've been seeing a therapist the whole time. It's not that I want to hurt myself or be unhealthy. My therapist says fear of regain is really common especially for someone like me. I feel better today anyhow. Not sure what I'm going to do about the structure. Having the one dialation made it so much better than it was and I hate to have another surgical procedure as I've already had five surgeries this year. I am able to eat a lot of the time now and I'm going to keep working on it. -

I've had the structure since the day I had surgery. I've never been able to eat correctly. I had surgery in March so I've been dealing with this for 7 months. -

I do see a therapist who specializes in eating disorders. I had one before I had wls and it's still something I am dealing with. I don't want to look anorexic, I don't want to look skeletal, but the fear of regaining and the relief I feel when I see my weight go down is hard to deal with. I've had an eating disorder for years so it's not surprising that it's still an issue. For me the surgery was a must, I had crippling back and foot pain and my weight was escalating like crazy. I was eating out of control and I was going to continue gaining. I knew that this surgery could trigger my eating disorder and it has. Anyway, hence the therapist. I know I need to get more Protein and less carbs and I really want to stop throwing up. I'd like to live without worry and get to a place where I can eat and enjoy and not worry. This is a physical journey for us but also a mental and emotional one. It's a journey I am on to try and find balance and health and happiness. -

I'm not trying to be mean, but I'm concerned about you already slipping on something so sugary so soon! Be careful and stick to your decision. Cookie dough is not a welcome thing in your life any longer!!! -
No pasta no rice and no bread
bellabloom replied to vickylg's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Okay I'm so confused. Argh. You are all saying that carbs clog you up, but for me, I can't seem to get down meat! Cheese works but meat gets super stuck. I've lost soooooo much weight I've been eating whatever Incan to try and find what works and I have better luck with things that are wrapped in bread or tortillas. Why do I have to be so abnormal. I hate having to eat carbs. -
