bellabloom replied to RNYDawn's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The cesarean cut hurts way more, but the gas pain from the rny hurts more. So I'd say about even Steven!!! -

Stupid things people say when they find out you've had surgery....
bellabloom replied to Awjones28's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When someone says "did you try diet and exercise first?" Im going to be like- "No way! I don't wanna have to give up my favorite foods! And the gyms wayyyyy to much work. I'd rather just have my stomach chopped off...." -
I'm addicted to shopping. not good!!

I'm sorry your going through this. I would say intensive therapy, perhaps inpatient for awhile, may help. I had to do inpatient therapy myself at one point for issues I had- nothing to be embarrassed about. The behavior your describing is very dangerous!!!!! I do hope you have stopped for your own safety. There is nothing wrong with enjoying sex, but these are the wrong reasons. Self worth and intimacy is a long road and growing process. I hope you are okay.

The difference is that to truly be considered medically anorexic, a person has to be underweight. We all have weight to lose, or bodies are using our stored far as fuel. An anorexic no longer had stored far to use and so begins to exhibit physical symptoms of malnutrition. One could definitely transition from a non- anorexic dieter to an anorexic if one continued to restrict calories after reaching the lowest weight for ones height. There are other differences as well. food rituals, extreme behavior, etc.

Sigh. "All you had to do was workout and eat right! Instead you've ruined your health with surgery." Ummmmm. Okay. Pretty sure I'm healthier now. Pretty sure the countless hours I spent in the gym was me attempting to workout and the countless diets I went on was me trying to eat right. This coming from a person who LOVED to come home and bake Cookies if I was dieting. -

How SAD is this?

Sometimes when you post on here, people are going to disagree with you. It's an open forum as I understand. I am sorry if your upset about it! But I do disagree with you. ???? -
The salt doesn't bother me. I have a hard time with meat too but jerky seems to go down. I have to chew it really well of course.

10/8/2015 Surgery Date...lower BMI range 30.3. So excited!
bellabloom replied to sleever54's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Please please please do this one thing- find a therapist that specializes in disordered eating. I completely understand why you want this surgery and to lose weight. I know what it's like to feel out of control with weight and eating. My concern for you is I see a lot of similar patterns to myself and I'm afraid the mental toll of so many crash diets may not be something that is going to get fixed with this surgery. This surgery is the easy part, maintianence is the hard part. At some point you'll have to learn to eat normally, not on a diet or trying to lose weight. It might be very challenging for you considering how desperately you have invested in losing weight in the past. I can hear in your post the level of extreme emotions you have tied up in your weight and appearance. I am the same way! I would have done anything to lose the weight. Getting into counseling has helped me get in touch with these feelings and start letting some of that fear of losing control go. Therapy is hugely important in the process and I hope you can do that for yourself! Otherwise, congrats and good luck!! -
I'm anti Protein bar myself. They are too much like candy bars, like a candy bar in disguise. Most of them are high in sugars and even the ones that aren't taste like sugar. It's too much of a trigger food for me. I feel that they are food that go down to easily, are chewed up and eaten too fast, and don't really fill you up. They are a slider food to me. I like eating beef Jerky a lot. It's not like a candy bar, takes a long time to eat, fills you up, and is high in protein. Just my two cents.

You 100% should expect to be helped by your spouse until you are feeling better. Sit him down as say- I need to rest, period. My expectation is that you will make this possible. I don't expect to be waited on hand and foot. But you need to see to the chores and children while I recover for the next week. Do it in whatever way you see fit, but do it. I'll be in my room. You have to set standards for yourself and stick to your guns.

Wow! You're definitely going to make goal at that rate! Probably surpass it if you want to!! Good for you, you look lovely. Pretty before too!

You know you lost weight when
bellabloom replied to Thomas CPA's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Men follow you around in the supermarket. You buy a belt and your best friend shows you that your waist is the same size as her thigh. People call you a "living doll" Everyone keeps telling your the wind is going to blow you away You have hip bones, collar bones... Your butt get sore sitting down because there is no padding. The girl at banana republic insists on getting you a size 0 so it fits right. You can fit in the clothes in the little girls section. You can easily touch your ankle to your butt. You can sit in the back between your kids car seats. The blood pressure cuff at the doctors office won't fit because it's too big. Hahahaha. Yeah. Never thought I'd be this tiny but I do love it!! -

FOOD????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
bellabloom replied to MzStockton's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hahahaha. I just can't let this go I'm sorry. Chewing and spitting out food- for a normal person with a normal stomach- yup. That's weird. Definitely disordered. Perhaps a form of bulimia... Or the beginning of it. K. But in this situation, where a person literally cannot swallow the food because of surgery and they are dealing with massive head hunger and cravings- I don't see how it's so weird!!! It's not bulimia people. Anyway. You don't have to do it. Al I was saying is it helped me get through. I don't do that anymore, not since the first week of surgery. -
FOOD????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
bellabloom replied to MzStockton's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey, I'm just saying what worked for me. I'd don't chew up food and spit it out anymore! It helped me though the worst. I don't think it's eating disordered. One of the things I missed most was chewing. Going from 5000 cals a day to nothing was hard! And temporarily doing this gigot me though it and made it easier. To each their own. And I happened be more than at goal and very heathy in my diet plan at this point.
