  1. Dr. Marema out of St. Augustine, Fl did mine :-)
  2. Hi there. I have ulcerative colitis and IBS. My UC is much better after having the sleeve (4 months ago). The only time I run into a problem is if I eat something bad, like Chinese. I haven't had to take my Asacol in months. Hope this helps!
  3. It seems like whatever I eat, except liquid, I get the slimes. I am 3 1/2 months out. I also quit smoking today and have been queasier than normal. Any suggestions on how to stop the slimes. I chew really well and eat very little. I'm starting to wonder if there are trigger foods. Any help is appreciated. Sorry about the pity party.
  4. What can I do to minimize skin sagging while losing weight? I'm 65 lbs down and about 90 more to go. Any thoughts on Spanx or certain creams? TIA

    Spanx

Do they help at all with reducing loose skin?
  6. My bosses are very judgmental so I said the exact same thing!
  7. Is anybody having this problem? Even a 10 oz. protein shake has to be done in 2 sittings. I sip slowly and eat very slow but I'm at the point where I'm getting a little lightheaded here and there. Sometimes after I eat I also get what feels like the gas pain I had after surgery in my left side. I go back to doc for 3 month check up tomorrow but was just curious...

    Just curious

Yes, that was what I wanted most. I'm three months out also and can eat salad no problem. But only 3-4 bites of it.

    Shirataki Noodles

I've never heard of them. What are they made of?

    Ladies only

Yes mine 2 weeks early and brutal! First one lasted 2 1/2 weeks. It's been that way ever since. Thought it was just me.

    Cold Feet For Surgery

I looked at like this...all the years of failed dieting and now I'm 40. Had high blood pressure, constantly sweating, sleep apnea, etc. It was life or death for me, that's how I look at it. I figured if I didn't commit to do it, I'd be dead in 5 or 10 years. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I am down 49 pounds since Sept. 15th. I don't have to take blood pressure meds anymore and my colitis is in remission. It is scary before the surgery, my food was like a friend, and you will mourn it. But you'll be happier and healthier for it. And alive. You can do it! Trust me, it is so worth it!!!

    Protein powder help

I buy the high protein slim fast shakes at Walmart.com. 20 grams protein, 180 calories. Chocolate tastes like chocolate milk.
  13. I'm 9 weeks out and feel full after a few bites of anything. Which works out great since I've lost 49 pounds since Sept 15th :-) but if I eat one or two bites too much I get a horrible stabbing pain from my tummy up to my shoulder, kind of like the gas pain after surgery. I think everyone is different but your body will acclimate soon. Keep up the good work!
  14. I just ate too fast and am trying really hard not to vomit.

    Out of the 300 club!

Yay me too! And we're never going back!!! Congrats!!!!
  16. Hi guys, I have experienced it a few times but last night was by far the worst. I need to make sure I only take one small bite a minute because I was hurting last night. And it lasted about an hour or so. The thing that really sucks is that I can't even lay down because the food is still sitting so uncomfortably. It's a true learning process, but I am down 48 lbs since my surgery on September 15th :-)
  17. Thanks for the info! I track through My Fitness Pal
  18. Hi guys, I'm 8 weeks post op, down 34 lbs. I am following my doctor's diet, but I feel nauseated and get that slimy feeling every time I eat. It also feels like the food is sitting in my esophagus. The only time I don't get this is when I drink only protein shakes, but even then I can only drink half in one sitting. Is anyone else going through this? TIA
  19. Zofran comes generic as Ondansetron, it's pretty cheap and taken sublingual. You're gonna need it. I only threw up once after the nurse had me swallow a capsule, it was horrible. I still have nausea when I eat sometimes, so I would definitely have some kind of meds on hand for that. Last thing you want to do is rip your incision.
  20. 3-5 days I'd say and then it's bearable, at least in my experience. Feel better!
  21. P.S. I don't think I'm eating too much, maybe 4-5 bites over a 20 min period.
  22. I'm a little over a month out and have been having SEVERE migraines since I started the solid food stage. I know I'm having a hard time getting in my protein, but has anyone else been suffering with this?
  23. NewKaren

    Migraines

    Thank you :-)
  24. I'm stuck at the vet with a sick dog. I'm a month out with my sleeve. Needed something to eat so I got a pure protein bar. 2g of sugar high protein. Think it will make me dump?
