Frustrated at the small fills. Whats the Norm?
Kerry 5570 replied to Thrillrod's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, I was in the same boat. Banded in September and didn't feel any restriction. I had my third fill a week ago and can really feel the restriction. Don't feel bad it will happen then you will be wondering what to eat as some of the food just refuses to go down easily. lol. I am looking for new menu items now so that I don't get bored with the food I can eat and i am still getting all my Protein and body needs. Good luck and hope you feel restricted soon lol if that is the right term to use. -
@@JustWatchMe I am glad to hear that. I have just had my third fill and can feel like it is working now woohoo. I had some battles with food for a while until we got it right lol

I did and still do lol. I am two months post op and still ask myself most days will this work for me? What if it doesn't? I asked myself these questions mostly in the beginning when I could barely eat after the surgery, and with the pain I felt at the port site. I am now confident that it will work and your body just needs to get used to this new little device that is doing it's thing underneath the skin. Good luck with your new way of life

Hunger and no fill yet
Kerry 5570 replied to janeykins1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was banded in September and seven weeks post op and fight with my hunger everyday. I am going for my third fill tonight and can't wait. I need to be able to control my portion sizes. I have most definitely changed my way of eating but can still eat a normal portion (all be it slower) with ease. I was starting to think that the band wasn't working for me and couldn't believe that after waiting for weight loss it wasn't happening. I feel guilty when I go back for my fills and I haven't lost anything since the last one. I lost 14lbs in my first week post op and then only two pounds since. I keep asking myself what am I doing wrong lol. I know this is a process until you get to the point where the fills are working for you but how frustrating it is waiting lol. Anyway hopefully tonight the fill will plug me up finally lol Love this site because it helps me to keep positive. It has to work one day -
I live in Dubai which is the middle east too. i am sure you will be fine so long as you avoid the dodgy street vendors lol.

My friend went after 7 days post op. She just took lots of Protein shakes just incase she found it hard to find stuff there. She was fine however but did feel a little tightness during the flight. Good luck I am sure you will be fine.

Congratulations -
lol thanks Laboj. You are strong too keep at it

No I started exercising after one month, the Dr wouldn't let me before. I was off work for four days lol. Didn't tell anyone in work and had to hide the discomfort when I got back. It worked though, none of them know and that's the best feeling ever LOL

Hi, I was banded towards the end of Sept. only lost 16 lbs but still happy with that, at least the gaining weight has stopped. I had my second fill last night as I was still able to eat normal portions. My Dr has told me I may need to come back again in a week if I am still able to eat easily. I am on fluids right now and think I can finally feel some restriction, and if I am getting restriction with fluids then I am hoping the food will be less to Trying to remain positive but still determined to succeed Good luck
-
You should be, it is a very exciting time. I lost really quickly in the beginning then it stopped. I have had two fills and I am starting to feel the restriction again. I am sure my weight will start to come off again soon. If it happens to you please don't give up or feel sad. Just exercise and keep going. We can be on this long but happy road together.

Hi Laboj, I had very bad port pain and still do occasionally. I am seven weeks post op now and it definitely gets much better. Congratulations on your new way of life

Congratulations..........much deserved.

Hi all, I am three weeks post op and starving all the time. I am wondering if the hunger will go when I have a fill (which is scheduled on the 26th). Really concerned that I will never lose weight if I always feel hungry. I can literally eat anything and everything just a little slower. Help
-
I know I lost 12 pounds in the first two weeks then since I went onto mushy I haven't lost a thing. Is that normal? I guess it is until your first fill right?

Hi all I had my surgery 4 days ago. Still feel really bloated, wondering how long it lasts. Looking forward to meeting people who will have answers lol
-
Hi Mama Rita, I had my operation over two and a half weeks ago, and I have always been more sore there than anywhere else. Even to the point of my stomach looking rounded and hard in that area. I went for my check up and the dr said it was normal. I have also noticed that if I am constipated it seems to stick out more. It is still very sensitive especially when I sit for long periods of time and I am in a desk job so it happens all the time. Don't worry I am sure it is completely normal and will ease after time.....ha ha or at least we hope it does
-
Hi Jlnrgn, Did you manage to get it?
-
Hi I had my surgery last Wednesday and although the pain has gone I can feel my stomach is still swollen. My question is is it normal, that I feel slightly more extended on my left side just by the bottom of my left rib, closer to the middle of my stomach. I keep getting more bloated around that area, and it feels a little hard. I thought it would go down but still not. I also thought it might be where they put the port and that is why it is slightly rounded, could that be right? Did anyone else have the same feeling? I am going to get my stitches out and to see the Dr on Sunday but just wondered if anyone else had felt the same.
