    Finally! Onederland!

Congratulations justajenn!! You are doing terrific and making great progress! I know how much it means to finally be under 200.
  3. titan05, I was nervous about surgery too! I was even worried when I was in the OR about to be put out. It is scary, but it will all work out for the best. The first few weeks are hard, but it will be worth it because in the end you will feel so much better and your health will improve. Prayers for strength and courage for you.

    How much?

Hi jenn1376, I think you are doing great! I started off at about the same weight as you, but I had surgery in December and have only lost about 40 pounds. Much less than many others here and les than most of those in my support group. I am older than many others so maybe that is why I am losing more slowly. Just keep working at it and I am sure you will do great!
  6. Wow, New2loseOR, I think you are doing great! You have certainly lost more than I have. I had my surgery December 15th, but have only lost 30 pounds so far. I walk 2 miles a day 5 days a week and do weights. My bariatrician told me to exercise more, 90 minutes a day 5 days a week. But between working 5 days a week and taking care of my grandchildren after work 3 days a week, it is hard to find the time and energy to do more. I have followed his instructions and advice, but have not lost anything in the last 3 weeks. All I hear from him now is that I must not be doing what he says to do. It gets quite disappointing. Keep trying and I am sure you will do wonderfully!
  7. Hi Leanora27801, Glad to hear you are doing well! I know what you mean, sometimes I have zero pain and sometimes there is a lot. I agree with you it helps that we know it will get better soon, and it isn't permanent!
  8. Hi everyone, how are you all doing? I hope you are all doing well, and that no one has had a serious problems. I had my surgery on the 15th also. I haven't had much pain, but have had a lot of nausea, For me the nausea bothers me more than pain would. Right now all the liquids I have tried taste terrible. They tasted fine before surgery, so I am hopeful that they will taste better soon. Other than that I feel better than I expected.
  9. @@Asher325 Thank you Asher. I am very thankful that I haven't had any clots recently! Oh no! Blood clots going to your lungs, that is so very scary!! Did you have a Greenfield filter put in? I had one put in to keep any clots from breaking off and going to my lungs or brain. I am currently on any thinners, but will be after surgery. I have the unusual genetic markers for both thrombophilia and hemophilia, they said it is really strange to have both problems. Thank you for your prayers. I will pray the same for you! I live in southern California. Where are you?
  10. Hi Asher325, thank you. Congrats on your surgery date also! I have had more than 10 blood clots but thankfully have not had one for 11 years. I had a Greenfield filter put in about 16 years ago. My hematologist is having me bank my blood because I also have an unusual blood type. They will give me Heparin in the hospital and I will go home on Coumadin. I was taken off Coumadin about 10 years ago because I had a CMV and a bleeding problem. I have Factors V, VIII & IX. My surgeon said I may be in the hospital longer than most people to make sure that I am not having any clotting or bleeding problems. How many clots have you had? Hopefully you won't have any problems.

    Embarassing question

Hi I am new to this forum, I just got my surgery date (December 15th) and am wondering about a question my surgeon asked me. He wanted to know if I have any bladder leakage when sneezing, coughing, lifting things or walking. I do have this happen occasionally, but was really embarrassed to admit it. I am wondering if anyone knows why he asked this question?
  12. Hi December surgery friends! I also got my surgery date and it is December 15th. I am excited, but also a little scared. I have never had any type of surgery before, and I have a blood clotting disorder so there are precautions that must be taken. I am very glad I found this group.
  13. Hi all. I am stuck between these two options also. My bariatrician recommends the RNY, but I am somewhat scared of that procedure. I was planning on having the gastric sleeve, until I met with her and she made her recommendations. Now I don't know what to do. I am looking for help from anyone who has been in this position. Thank you.
