My name is Rita, I am 36 years old. I have been married for almost 18 years, and have four beautiful children Ages 17,13,6,and 5. I have been heavy most of my life and after my last two children (who are 11.5 months apart) I continued to gain more and more, I decided it was time to do something about it, and having two friends, who were successful with the lapband, I knew where to start looking. My surgery is scheduled for 10/03/2014 and I'm very excited but a bit nervous, as I have a fear of being put under anesthesia......
UPDATE:  fast-forward 2 1/2 years,   I am now a bit older, my four children are a bit older, in fact my oldest is now married, and also my lap band failed, I am having a revision surgery from lap band to sleeve on May 5 2017
