6 weeks out and still having regret...
ArleneV replied to patrickm613's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Doesn't take six months to heal. But I noticed that things got much better and I was able to tolerate more foods after I hit the six month mark. -

By six months out you will be feeling much better. Takes time to adjust. -

Yes, an online store with discounted products would be awesome. I would definitely be interested. -

I have trouble with insomnia also. I did some research on the web and it seems like it is a problem with gastric bypass patients, but nobody is sure why. I take Restoril when I get absolutely to the point where I just have to sleep because I am so exhausted. Trouble is that no mater what you take, be it Ambien, Lunesta, or the Restoril if you take it every single night it will soon stop working. I am hoping that some day they come out with something better! Try using magnesium supplements at night. That can help. There is a powdered citrus flavored magnesium supplement called "Calm" that you can get at health food stores. You mix it with Water and drink it in the evening. The powder does fizz when mixed with water, like an Alka-Seltzer tablet, but don't worry. I checked with my nutritionist and she says this isn't the same as drinking carbonated beverages.

Surgery on 9/30/14 I have to take three Colace capsules a day plus use Benefiber just to keep from getting too constipated. I still can't get much in the form of veggies. Still a struggle just to get all the Protein in each day. Will this ever get better?

I know they say that constipation is something that goes along with gastric bypass surgery. I have to take three Colace capsules a day and also use Benefiber just to keep from getting too "stopped up". Does this ever go away? I had my surgery on 9/30/14. I still can't get in enough Protein plus add veggies to my diet. Mostly it's just protein right now.

Don't think I could afford the Orange theory. I can join the Lafayette recreation center for just $19.00 a month after my birthday next month as I will qualify for the lower rates. Even right now it's just $34.00 a month. I spend my extra money on massage therapy. My reward! lol

Lovebug 2015- I had my surgery on 9/30/14. Started at 280 and am down to 237 this morning. Seems like other people lose weight quicker than I am, but I am happy as long as I keep losing. I need to get up off of my fanny and start exercising. That is the one thing that I always seem to be too tired too do or never have the time. How is everybody doing?

Surgery date Sept. 30th
ArleneV replied to jbauman13's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wanted to check in with my fellow Sept. 30th surgery date people. How did it go? My surgeon said the operation was a success, but oh am I in pain right now. It hurts so bad. The little itty bitty pain pails he gave me just take the edge off, they don't really help with the pain. I didn't know it would hurt this much. Does anybody know how long this pain lasts? Oh and I had to go home with a drain stitched into me. A real pain to empty and care for. It is there until next Wednesday. Thanks all. -

I am checking in to see how my fellow September 30th surgery date people faired. I am in pain. So much pain. Wow, I didn't know it was going to hurt this much. Is anybody else experiencing this? It does go away, right? -

I am scheduled at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow. Feeling like I am not ready. To make things worse people I work with are acting like I am going through some horrible thing. Really? -
Surgery date Sept. 30th
ArleneV replied to jbauman13's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to do nothing but Clear liquids on Sunday and Monday, and of course no liquids or food Tuesday. I am told that every surgeon is different when it comes to prep before surgery. -
