Thank you! I need to hear that. I just spoke to my husband about it. I'm gonna go forward with it on the 25th. If I'm feeling up to it I'm going to go to my in laws for the gathering. And if not I'll stay home and he's gonna go with our kids. I can't believe this is really happening. IN 3 WEEKS!!!

I totally should've worded this differently....Lol It's not about thanksgiving dinner. It's really not. Seriously, it's my least favorite holiday as far as food goes. It's more because something about being in the hospital or home after surgery in pain on a holiday is kinda depressing. And yes, it's for an amazing reason. I know that. I'm just thinking more about my family rearranging plans than I am about me which I need to obviously not be concerned with.

Thank you! My in laws are having it at their house this year so if I stay home I'll be ok!

Turkey's gross. Dry, tasteless, bleh. I'm gonna do it... I'm just being a chicken sh*t Hahahaha

You're 100% right! Now that I think about it.... I've been sick soooooo many times and missed the holiday lol.

I'm thinking of it more as a "do I want to be miserable and in pain on a holiday" than "oh man, no pumpkin pie!" I have 4 kids, so I don't get to sit down and eat on a holiday lol.

Worried about taking care of baby post op
cryssyd3 replied to ****505 girl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm also freaking out about this. I have an 8 month old who is breastfed and loves to be worn in a ring sling. I'm not so much concerned about when I'm home because as it is I usually nap on the couch with him and we don't have a changing table, I usually just change him wherever around the house. I'm nervous about being in the hospital for 2 days and how the heck my husband is going to get him to sleep. We bed share now and he usually nurses himself to sleep. The hospital I'm having my surgery at does make special exceptions for nursing mothers to have their spouse an child stay with them when they are admitted, but we have three other Children at home who need daddy also. -

So what happens when you get a denial? I don't see any reason for me to get one, but I almost feel like everything has gone too smoothly up until this point so I want to prepare myself just In case. My surgeons office is submitting everything Monday and I'm kinda freaking out.

So I'm about to go to an appt with a PCP. This is a new pcp to me, I haven't needed to see a doctor in god knows how long and all my comorbities I found out about from my surgeons testing. I'm realllllyyyy nervous about asking for a letter of recommendation from this new guy. What do I even say? I plan on bringing a copy of my bloodwork I just had done and the stuff from the cardiologist and lung doctor. This is literally the last appt and thing I need to do before I can submit anything to insurance and I'm FREAKING OUT!! Help!! Advice! A hug? Lol

pCP letter of recommendation
cryssyd3 replied to cryssyd3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG it was so nerve racking! And I barely had to ask him! I mentioned it to the nurse and she came back in and was like "ok, he'll be in in a minute and after the exam he'll write up the letter with you." I must've said 'thank you' a thousand times, I literally almost cried hahaha -

Ive lucked out so far. I've only started this whole process less than a month ago. I got all my appointments done super quick, didn't need to wait 6 months like with some insurances (thank god) and now Monday I have my last nutritionist appointment. My goal was to have everything complete by November 1st when my new insurance starts and so far so good! So exciting! I can't believe I'm actually doing this. -

I need a good sugar free Popsicle
cryssyd3 replied to Elode's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Walmart sells the molds to make your own! Just use sugar free crystal light (I think that's ok to use) or maybe your protein drink, pour it into the mold, freeze and VOILA! (I do this for my 7month old who's teething lol) -
I just found out I have one when I did my barium swallow last week. I had no clue and thought the symptoms I was having from it were normal lol. But I'll be having it fixed when I have my surgery

Breastfeeding after surgery?
cryssyd3 replied to armygalafwife's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am also still breastfeeding my 7 1/2 month old and plan to after surgery. I'm more worried about HOW I will manage holding him right out of surgery. IF my supply does drop I plan on using an SNS to supplement but to still nurse him (google lact-aid supplemental nursing system) I used an SNS when my son was a newborn still because he had weight issues so I'm familiar with it. I think it's something you should look into if you Aren't ready to stop nursing yet. -
I'm on Instagram also! Crystal__jones

Thanks everyone! I'm so super nervous about the pre op diet. I think more nervous than the actual surgery, lol. I go see the nutritionist tomorrow so hopefully I get the details of the diet then.

I'm new here! So hi all!!! I just started my band journey and had my first consult with the surgeons office two weeks ago. I met with the nutritionist and briefly with the surgeon. I got all my scripts for pre-op testing and so far have completed the bloodwork and sono of the liver and gallbladder. I just need to have pulmonary clearance and cardiac clearance which I have appointments for next week. I keep reading about people being on a pre-op diet. Is this something you do to lose weight before surgery? Or prepare your stomach for the surgery? What is it for? No one mentioned anything to me about a pre-op diet. I am 4'11" and my bmi is 38.8. Was I maybe not told I need to diet before surgery because my bmi is on the lower side of what is required for surgery? So confused!!
