It will get better. Focus on your hydration. Believe it or not you can live on such tiny amounts of calories. It took me weeks to get my calorie count up. Hang in there. -

LOW metabolism - sleeve or bypass
glitter eyes replied to bhopeful's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too have Hashimoto's. Prior to surgery I ate low calorie, approx. 1200-1400 calories a day and still weighed 271 pounds. I did a two week pre op liquid diet and only lost 4 pounds. So I was very skeptical that the sleeve would work for me. Fast forward about seven months and I was down to 155. Now I am a year and four months post op and weigh 145. So it has worked for me. I still eat low calorie even in my maintenance phase. I usually average around 900-1000/day with about 80-100 grams of Protein. I watch my carbs closely too. Good luck in your decision!! Weight loss surgery is an amazing tool. -

That's some interesting info on the beets , stomach acid and red/pink urine connection. I absolutely love beets!! My favorite way to eat them is roasted. Before surgery my urine never turned pink from eating them, however, just last week I had pink urine from eating beets.

Any vegan/juicers ? Not sleeved untill nic 9th butttt....
glitter eyes replied to Munecagirl85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not a vegetarian, but I do juice once or twice a week. However, I didn't juice during the majority of my weight loss phase. I am in maintenance now and just make sure when I juice I log my calories and so far I have been fine. I even do the occasionally fruit juice. I always save my pulp and add it to my homemade soups and if I do fruit I use the pulp and add it to homemade whole grain muffins (mostly my family eats those). I haven't had any problems. I think if I juiced everyday it would be too many carbs for me and I would rather eat my food. LOL Good luck. -
You look amazing!! What a beautiful dress!

Hello Fall! Does anyone have any goals, NSV's especially for fall?
glitter eyes replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I reached my maintenance phase in the spring. So during the summer I set some NSV's that I wanted to focus on and it was a fabulous summer. My fall NSV's are: ride a Ferris wheel for the first time (always been to scared) and I am trying to do things outside my box! Kayak with the manatees once it gets a little cooler Take at least two new hikes Go zip lining -
I have used pork skins to eat dip with. They have almost no carbs and some protein (not my favorite, but they work). I also occasionally splurge on some crackers.

Congrats- you look amazing.

It is an amazing feeling!! Good for you. -
Good luck on your upcoming surgery!! It is a wonderful life changing tool. I avoided carbs like the plague until I was very close to goal. I have since introduced healthy carbs (fruits, whole grains) in moderation back into my diet. I log everything I eat and that has helped me find what works best for me. I even have an occasional treat. As I lost weight I began to exercise. I go to the gym, but have a new found love for hiking and kayaking!!

Weight Gain 2 Years Post-op
glitter eyes replied to Idairene's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The original poster clearly stated that she is very active- so that is probably not the reason and moving more may not help since it sounds like she moves a lot. I agree with VSGAnn2014 that everyone is different. I think her idea of tracking all your food and experimenting on what works best for you!! Not everyone needs to increase their calories, however, some people on this website do better with increasing them. I have religiously tracked my good through this process and what makes me lose is if I eat around 1,000 calories and only consume around 30-30 carbs. I can maintain on around 1200 calories and 50 carbs. It truly is an experiment. It sounds like you are a motivated individual and will be successful once you discover what works for maintenance. Maintenance is a journey all in its on!! Good luck
