Has anyone had a stomach bug/flu after bypass..woke up Wednesday with bad cramps and a bad upset stomach..it was better on Thursday but now today its bad again..i dont really have any appetite. Am trying to sip Water but when i do it wants to come back up. I have no diarrhea and so far no vomiting..just a real bad upset tummy. I had bypass sx on 1/19/15.. this is the first time i have had any issues.. Any thoughts..thank you

I lost 18 pounds on my 2 week preop diet. When i went home the next day,after sure i was 18 pounds heavier. Took 4 days to lose it

Diabetes and the bypass

I had type 2 diabetes, high blood and high cholesterol. I was taking 3 meds for the diabetes and one each for the hypertension and cholesterol. I had gastric bypass on jan 19, 2015..i left the hospital the following day..i no longer take rx meds for any of these medical issues..i am no longer considered a diabetic -

I had bypass surgery on jan 19. I lost 18 lbs on my 2 week preop diet. I came home from surgery the next day. I was super bloated and had gained 18 lbs..took 3 days to lose it..walking and even burping helps w the gas -

I came home from the hospital on January 20th and was 18lbs heavier..took 3 days to lose it..today is my last day of liquids. Looking forward to the blended phase starting tomorrow.. -
I am 5 days bypass post op..I can honestly say I have had no issues..I have has no pain meds since the first night home from hospital...no nausea...on liquids until Monday..everything stays down..excited to move to blended stage on mon. Came home from hospital 18lbs heavier..lost it in 3 days..even though it feels like nothing has changed I am NOT gonna push it. I will continue sipping slow and doing what I am supposed to. I have worked to hard to get this far I don't want to undo all the hard work I have done so far

I am on day 5 of my two week high protein liquid liver shrink diet..its hard and I swear im swimming in protein shakes but knowing those shakes are only temporary it makes it a little easier to drink them.. and I have lost 11 pounds since Monday. Surgery is jan 19 @ 7:30..im looking forward to being "normal" size again. Haven't been thin for over 35 yrs .good luck everyone

I start my 2 week diet on Jan 5..I have 4 protein shakes a day plus sf popsicles..jello..yogurt..low sodium soups/broth..and I get unlimited veggies. My surgeon says they added the veggies because patients missed the "chewing". I am going this week for my supplies

Great view from your seats. I too have season tickets but mine are for a minor league team in the ECHL. I am having bypass surgery on Jan 19. I'm hoping to make it to the annual Teddy Bear toss on Jan 24. Its always a great game. I hope everything surgery wise goes well so I can attend the game

I haven't had surgery yet but think about this..when is the last time you last 21 pounds in 2 weeks (aside from perhaps your preop diet) I can honestly answer never..great job
