Runny nose, sneezing, burping after eating...
nprcowboy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So pretty much every time I eat I get full quick from a small amount. That's what the surgery does. But I am also very uncomfortable, my nose starts to run uncontrollably , I start sneezing over and over again while nose is running , and then burp many times of the course of like 15 minutes. This happen to anyone else. Thx -
Hi. Many of you followed my story as I went through hell with complications from surgery. 6 hospital stays, feeding tubes, ambulance etc..... I went through hell to finally be OK. I went from 308 to 171 as of this past March. I looked great and felt great. But....... A heavy depression set in early this year. Work stress, marital issues, financial issues etc..... I got so depressed I tried to take my life twice!! I am blessed I survived twice I know this. After hospital stays to get better they put me on meds including abilify which is notorious for weight gain. I've gained 40lbs in 4 months and have been as high as 216 for a low a few months ago of 171. Depression is setting in as I went thru hell to get to that 171 now I'm obese again. Had to buy bigger clothes each month. I'm shocked with the sleeve how much I can eat now. The meds slow the metabolism and make it to where I'm not even aware how much I am eating. Please help, how do I get the weight off now? 40lbs seems daunting when sleeve doesn't seem to be helping anymore. I am sorry if this post disappoints many. I'm doing better mentally, no thoughts of hurting self and wasn't depressed until recently due to weight gain. I don't know how to get back what I went by thru hell to get. From the poster boy of hell to success to falling from grace. Thank u all again for your support when I was so sick. Could use some more support now. Sent from my SM-J700T1 using the BariatricPal App

Been so sick 3 weeks post op. Can't get fluids down. Woken up vomiting bile, brown mucus and blood thus morning. Vomited yesterday too but not blood. I just want them to find out what's wrong with me. Was sleeved nov 6th. Was doing OK a week or 2 out and started getting sick 6 days ago. Went to ER this past Monday. But they have me some fluids and a cat scan and blood work and didn't find anything except some esophageal swelling. They should have done an EGD. Going to an different ER. Been on straight gatorade for 4 days and getting worse. I should have went in yesterday but didn't want to ruin thanksgiving. Appreciate the prayers. I just want to get well. -

I was on abilify and Paxil, both weight gainers. Now replaced by rexulti and topamax. I'm eating mostly fruits and veggies past 2 weeks and have lost 6 lbs post getting off those meds. 50lbs to go. Ugh. Along with added weight back issues came back again. In so much back pain last couple days. I got surgery to get weight off due to back issues. I feel like such a failure Sent from my SM-J700T1 using the BariatricPal App -

Long story short. Sleeved Nov 2014 at 308 hit LW end of March this year, at 171. Felt great looked great. Depression set in for many reasons and tried suicide twice end of March and end of April. Was put on meds including abilify which is notorious for weight gain. Have gained 53 lbs in 5 months. I'm now 224. I'm off abilify but damage is done. And don't know how to lose the weight or eat healthy anymore. I went thru hell post surgery with complications including feeding tubes and 6 hospital stays and when I hit 171 was all worth it. Was down to a medium from 3X shirts now back to XL. Help. If I knew how to do it naturally to lose 50 plus lbs I wouldn't have needed the surgery. I try and diet and I blow it each time. I still can't eat as much pre sleeve but gaining 10 lbs a month currently. Depression is coming back due to how I look and feel about this now. Any positive advice and support is welcomed. You just answered one of my questions-----Ablilify is usually given in combination with another med---for you it is Paxil. Ablilify is seldomed prescribed solo. Perhaps a serious sit down to discuss a new "cocktail". ---and keep at it until you find the cocktail that works for YOU. Now before I go any further,---Welcome back! You've been missed. Welcome "home". I went totally off track when my SO committed suicide the morning of my WLS. After four years of therapy, I restarted from scratch. I made appointments with: my bariatric surgeon, my Nut, my bariatric therapist, my gym/pool consultant and of course BP itself. I found that my sleeve is still viable---just waiting for me to "rejoin the march". I had to learn to listen to my body, my sleeve's restriction---to work with it---not against it. In concert to my body, I had to rewrap my head around why I had WLS to start with. I had to learn to forgive myself---to care enough about myself to want to try again. It can be done, my friend. It is not easy, but it can be done and is well worth the effort. Just remember that you will not lose weight at the rate you did when you first had WLS. Weight loss is slower, but it is consistent with the effort given. Forward---one step at a time. Again, Welcome back. Post often--letting us know how you are doing. We CARE. We are here and listening. Sometimes, I hope that is enough. Made me all teary eyed. Ty so much. Being g back on here is helping already. Love u all Sent from my SM-J700T1 using the BariatricPal App

Since I tried to take my life twice they put me on an anti psychotic. Met with psychiatrist and he's going to switch me to rexulti the new abilify but without the same side effects. Hopefully insurance covers as 900 dollars without insurance as no generic. I'm on Paxil as well Sent from my SM-J700T1 using the BariatricPal App

Honestly, what is everyone eating 1-3 yrs post op
nprcowboy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am finding 16 Mos post op I am just under goal and weight had leveled out last 3 months. Actually 2 lbs up from lowest weight and was as high as 7 lbs over low weight a few weeks ago. Do I eat healthy everyday every meal no. But I can see I need to get back on the wagon as at a point now that could gain weight back if ate enough calories of junk. I usually eat a 100 calorie egg beater omelette for Breakfast. Some reduced fat salami for lunch. dinner is where it can get sketchy sometimes. Some times have had pizza or wings, baked fries etc.... Snacking and sweets are creeping back in here and there. I can eat pretty much anything, no foods that make me sick. I recognize as we all know the surgery is a tool not the rule. I am at a time where it is now time to work to maintain. I definitely eat better choices than before as a whole but can also recognize to continue to maintain and be successful I have to work at it harder and make better choices as whole. Just curious how everyone else is doing and honestly. Anyone gain back weight or any stories of struggles in this area? Sent from my Z970 using the BariatricPal App
