    October List of Surgery's

Went to my 6 month checkup this week. Blood pressure is outstanding. Very pleased with my weight loss. My new weight goal is to get to 200 lbs in the next 6 months. This week I have been experiencing headaches. Tuesday morning before 7am I had one, took Tylenol and it didn't touch it. I finally went home around 10 and it lasted until late afternoon. Thursday morning I got one on the way into work and it lasted until yesterday afternoon. I have an appointment with my primary doctor tomorrow to see if we can figure out what is going on.

@anewme2015 you said "I follow it with a day or two return to Protein Drinks. I find it stops the cravings in their tracks." I have heard of the 5 day pouch reset but what do you mean? You drink nothing but 2 Protein Drinks the whole day for two days in a row?

WARNING!! This is the complaint department and I am shooting to be the head complainer. Hmmm Carb Addiction. Just because last week I had 4 single chocolates, a milky way, a whole bag of robin eggs and a bunch of other stuff that I shouldn't be eating besides shouldn't be able to eat....doesn't make me addicted to carbs! First step in addiction is denial and it isn't just a river in Egypt. I have recently heard the words carb addiction. I know I LOVE sweets. I know food doesn't taste good now that I don't eat bread, rice and pasta which I am slowly understanding are all carbs. Now I have to figure out what led up to me eating those "bad" foods and how to attempt to control my addiction. I have to educate myself on what is a carb, which carbs are good and which are bad, how much I need to limit myself to and so on. UGH! One of the reasons I had the gastric bypass surgery was so I would have negative consequences to eating both high fat and high sugar foods. What a disappointment to find out I seem to be able to eat both without getting the dreaded dumping syndrome. Granted I am drinking water at the same time I am eating this stuff this is why I am able to eat the amount I am eating. So I think one of the rules I need to implement is not to drink for 30 minutes after eating ANYTHING. Now this alone isn't going to stop me from eating sugary and high fat foods but my stomach does hurt (feels like heart burn) if I eat too big amount if I don't wash it down by drinking. This would at least limit the amount I can eat at one time. Would I have had this surgery if I had known I would not get dumping? Probably not but I have had it so it is water over the damn (misspell on purpose). Will try to be more positive now: HW 403, SW 365, CW 265.4, I have lost 137.6 lbs since July and 90.6 lbs since my 6 October surgery. I am beginning to do so much more than I have in years. Over the past 4 weeks I have spread 8 truck loads of dirt over my yard. In my yard I am trying to make up for the years I have neglected it due to my limitations while I was heavier. I have so many projects going on it is amazing. This weekend I plan to WALK (read as stroll) a 5k. It will not be about setting world records. I am just seeing if I can actually complete a walking 5k. Then I will have a starting point of how long it takes me to complete that "fun" walk and in the future I can attempt to better my time. Now with all the complaining I did about what the surgery did not do for me let me talk about one thing the surgery did do for me. Remember all that "bad" stuff I ate? Well I still lost 1.6 lbs for the week. I am supposing that my reconstructed innards did not allow me to absorb all those calories so I didn't gain weight. 15 April I go back to my bariatric surgeon for my 6 month checkup. I have passed the 6 month goal of losing 100 lbs in 6 months (kind of). Now I will ask them what is my next weight loss goal? I have not been regularly exercising so I need to get on that band wagon as well. I hope it will help me mentally as well as physically. I will stop now as I have probably taken up a whole page in this one post. At least it feels like it.

    October List of Surgery's

Hello, my latest update is a loss of 4.6 lbs last week. I am currently 269.8 (good bye 270s). I have lost 86.2 lbs since 6 October surgery and a total of 133.2 lbs since July. I am finally beginning to do things again. Last weekend I got beat up by a aerator. I rented a plug aerator. I put it in reverse by accident and it took out my mailbox. My wife asked "Why is our mailbox out in the street?" Between maneuvering that thing around the yard and spreading Milky Spores, grass seed, fertilizer and lime I almost walked 20,000 steps on Saturday and another 10,000 steps on Sunday. I was and still am one sore puppy. This is the first year I have actually worked on the yard in March. Usually I have been too lazy. Good luck guys and keep those posts coming.

I had an NSV I had to share with you. Yesterday after work I got in the car and realized how much room was between me and the steering wheel. Before I could not turn the wheel around with one hand because my belly would get in the way. There used to be no room between my belly and the steering wheel. Now I have a LOT of room between me and the steering wheel.

@@60&goin4it thanks for asking how I am doing. My hair loss has slowed down now but my hair is so thin my wife said she could easily see my scalp. My latest figures are: 278.6 Current weight 3.8 lbs lost last week 77.4 lbs lost since surgery 124.4 lbs lost since July HW of 403 Having trouble figuring what to eat. Trying all my old food without bread, rice or Pasta and they are all too bland or something. Tried a pumpkin yogurt recipe the other day with one packet of artificial sweetener. It was way too sweet. We finally got my blood thinner levels where we want them. I am SO SO SO cold these days. It is hard to get used to. I made it to twoderland and now I am chipping away at the two's. I eat such a small amount at each meal that I feel like I can't get any variety. We took 8 huge bags of clothes to the thrift store and I still have two more. I keep thinking the weight loss is going to slow down but for the last month I am averaging 3.5 lbs lost every week. This just seems so crazy.
  11. WELCOME ABOARD!!! Just found out a few days a go that 6 October is my surgery date. I thought I would get this topic rolling. I have been down this road before. Last year I started the 3 months of losing weight for the insurance folks and even got a surgery date of 22 February. Then I went to my Pysch appointment and she said no to me having the surgery. I was not in a good place mentally and so we have worked on getting me to a better place. I started out at 396 and I had lost the 35 pounds the doc wanted me to lose but once the surgery was cancelled I went off what I was doing and now I am even heavier. 403 is my current weight. My sleep apnea has gotten a lot worse and I am having other issues I did not have before. So I am starting the process again. I have my first appointment 19 August so we will see what happens then.
  12. @@irishaggie I too find myself eating in a rut but I combed through the worldaccordingtoeggface.com website and printed all the recipes that sounded good. I now have a pile of them tp plow through when I get bored. This week is the first time I weighed the same as the week before. One thing I have noticed is that when someone says they weighed the same as last week and the week before they usually also end up saying "But my body is changing." This is the same for me. I recently got some 2X shirts and they were tight. This morning I noticed a loose-ness to one of those shirts that I don't remember being there so my body is changing. On a side note I can't believe that I wear my clothes tighter these days. When my weight was going up I would wear loose fitting clothes thinking I was hiding my ever expanding myself from the world. Now I wear stuff that is slightly tight because I know I will be shrinking into it. Yesterday I wore myself out. I went to Sam's Club and walked around looking at stuff. Then I went to costco and did the same. Then Walmart and Safeway. My hips were hurting last night but feel better today. I did stop at Panera and had some of their delicious turkey chili. I thought ahead and brought my 1/4 cup measuring cup with me. So I sat down at a table (before I would have eaten in the car) spooned the chili into a measuring cup and sat there eating. The other day we went out to a Mexican restaurant and I ordered a chicken burrito without the tortilla. It was delicious. I am wishing everyone very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a wonder filled New Year!

I am sitting here with a sore throat. It worries me with my weakened system. Ron's update: I have been losing my hair for three weeks now. With all that I went through that is to be expected. I have a bald spot on the back of my head from laying in the hospital bed for so long. That probably won't grow back until my body decides it has enough energy to grow hair again. Current weight: 302.4 lbs. Only 3.4 more pounds to Twoderland. I have lost: 100.6 lbs since July 53.6 lbs since 6 Oct surgery 4.8 lbs last week I have to lose approximately 12 more pounds to accomplish my first weight loss goal. It is to lose 100 lbs, from my doctors scales, and do it in less than 6 months. I am in size 50 pants. Down from a 58. Part of this is I have shrunk enough to stop wearing them on my stomach and I am now wearing them at my waist. I started out in 6X shirts now I am wearing 2X. I can now put my socks on while sitting in a chair. Before the only way I could put my socks on was to sit on the bed. Although stairs are still a struggle I am walking without a cane. My mom calls me a melting snowman. My stomach has a dent in it where my loose skin (soon to be my apron) is starting to droop.
  14. @@edie091371 I see progress every day. Today for the first time I was able to hold my balance while standing on one foot. I still have issues with stairs and curbs. Part of my right thigh is numb and now has a burning sensation when I take a step. Friday they cleared me for all foods except rice, Pasta and bread. I return to work full time 4 January. Today for lunch I had a turkey and dill pickle rollup. I still have not had any issues with any foods but it is only a matter of time. 403 High Weight in July 2015 356 Surgery Weight (- 47 lbs) 307 Current Weight (-49 lbs since surgery) This is probably high due to the hospital stay

Went to see my bariatric surgeon and NUT today. They are pleased with my weight loss. I am now on all foods (salad as well) except no rice, pasta or bread. This is a dangerous time. Trying new foods. I can't wait to have a dill pickle wrap for some reason. I am going to outpatient PT 3 times a week. I am still having issues with stairs and balance. They did a Brain MRI and found multiple issues with circulation. I have an appointment with a Neurologist 8 January to see about that and how bad the nerve damage s in my right thigh. It is numb and every time I take a step it burns. @@60&goin4it I eat 3 times a day with no snacks. 1/4 cup or 2oz per meal. At 3 months I will go to 1/3 cup or 3oz, 6 months 1/2 cup or 4oz, 9 months 3/4 cup or 6oz, 12 months 1 cup or 8 oz. Next month on 6 January I will graduate to 1/3 cup. My B12 was high as well. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL
  17. @@anewme2015 and @@s0rda some people are so afraid of hurting peoples feelings that they won't say anything. It is like me way back when I asked someone if they were pregnant and they weren't. I no longer ask that question. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL
  18. @@s0rda I am sorry your sister is like that. It has got to be tough. I don't know if I will be able to lose that much but I already expect people to say "Whoa you are losing too much." People are used to me being 403 lbs. Losing 100 lbs would make a huge difference in the way I look and the 90 lbs I have lost already has. If I were to lose the 250 lbs that would put me at 22% BMI but would be a MASSIVE change in my appearance. It would not surprise me if I lose 150 lbs for someone to start saying "You are losing too much, you look unhealthy." My reply would be I am letting my doctor decide when it is too much.
