Oh my I don't think I could chew a metforman YUCK!! I crushed my pills for a while but I just got a pill cutter and cut them in quarters then you don't have to taste it! XR or SR extended/sustained release tablets cannot be crushed you don't get an even dose and that could be dangerous!! -
Well I am in Longview Washington and found a doctor in Olympia that is wonderful and does a HUGE discount for cash pay so let me know if you are interested and I can give you more information

I just went to the doctor on Tuesday but I made my decision a long time ago. My sister had surgery in August and I have been trying to get my insurance to pay longer then that I just decided that I was going to pay for it myself and then continue to fight, hopefully I will get reimbursed but not too likely... Good luck on your consult I hope you get your surgery as fast as I am getting mine!!!!
-
I am also preband, I go meet with the Doctor and schedule surgery on Tuesday can't wait... I have been waiting for a year to get the band and cannot wait to start on my journey...

Well I have posted a few times in the past but it is finally time to get serious. I am getting ready to start my journey... I got my financing approved this Wednesday, I have an appointment with Dr Neal in Olympia on Tuesday and I will hopfully be scheduling my surgery then!!!! I am so excited, I have been fighting with my DH insurance for a year trying to get them to pay but it is an exclusion and I figure that I can continue to fight for everyone else but in the meantime I am paying for my surgery and if I win my battle with the insurance I will get my money back. Well that is all for now I will continue my journey as soon as I know more!:clap2:

Appeal Appeal Appeal don't let them win!! That is what they want you to give up. I am in the same boat I am on my second appeal now and have my third waiting for the denial so I can shoot it off on the same day! I also have PCOS and diabetes hypertension blah blah blah the list goes on!!! It is an exclusion on my husbands insurance as well but it won't be by the time I am done if I have anything to do with it. This is no different in my eyes then alcohol and drug addiction and they pay for those so why won't they pay for the treatment of food addiction???
-
I am trying to get our insurance to cover my surgery however it is an exclusion on our policy. I am trying to appeal it and was wondering if anybody had any advice. I have wrote one appeal letter and got a NO but I am not willing to give up that easy!!! Someone said something about writing a letter to the company that my husband works for since we are self insured instead of going through the insuarance underwriters does anybody have any advice??? I take any help that I can get on this!!!!!
-
Ok so if you don't mind me asking what union is your husband in. My husband is in the awppw. The other insurance that is offered I believe pays for it. The only concern that I have is that they are self insured.... However, on my next appeal letter I am going to send a copy of it to his employer and not just the insurance company to see if that helps any. I won't give up until I win the war!!!! In the meantime I am trying to save as much money as I can so I can pay for it myself as I am very impatient and want to start my journey as soon as possible. I am very impatient but I am not a quitter!!! If any one has any good ideas I am all ears!! Robin
