Please help me with this 6 mo agonizing wait!
tlemieux220 replied to vixen1978's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have started my journey in July 2014 and I am still waiting on getting my surgery date, so I feel you. I like the idea making lifestyle changes pre-surgery. It gives us something to do other than wait for our dates to be give. I wish everyone luck with their journey too. -

Hello, my date is set for March 20th but can change, this is the date on the letter from my insurance. Talked to surgeons office and she stated it is just date they give the insurance, so it can change most likely in the first couple of weeks in March will be finished with this part of my journey. Can't wait to see the rest of what happens next. Just went to Primary yesterday and got my clearance letter now just waiting or my surgeons office to contact me for my pre-op. Have a great support system at home and on this site too. -
MAJOR struggles since I got my date...anyone else?
tlemieux220 replied to A'sgotthis's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think we all feel this way, it is natural, we have all used food as our friend and confort zone, when we are upset, celebrating, or even just bored. I don't have my date yet, but I started to eat like it was going out of style. Food has been my place of confort, and never tells me NO!, now I have to start listening to my own heart and soul, and I am finally ready to meet the real me. We are all a fraid to fail, just like we have with many other diets and programs, and we are all going to have those days where we just want to give up and not move foward, but we have each other here and when we feel we are out of control we can reach out to each other, we are all in the same game of life. Others might not no exactly how we feel, but all of us on this site do. Good Luck to everyone! -

Pre-Op visit drama!
tlemieux220 replied to Mrs. Reid's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel your pain. The first visit I had at my surgeons office in Oct, the nurse with my case was bigger than I am, it was a little over whelming to see some one in this type of field over weight themselves and trying to tell me, that they know how I am going to feel after surgery. My thought and my husbands was have they gone thought this process before and if so why were they not able to keep off the weight. got me thinking how am I going to successed if I am not sure I can trust what this nurse has to say if she cannot control her weight either. -
Waiting For Approval
tlemieux220 replied to soon2besleeved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am there too, however last night at our support group I found out the nurse I was dealing with is no longer at my doctors office. Was never told she was leaving and who's going to be in charge of my case now. She was suppose to send my chart for approval on 01/22/15. Beyond frustating, I hope this doesn't hold up my process, since I started this process in July 2014. I have a 3 hour class I have to take next week and waiting my PCP clearance letter, and then should be good to go. -

Do you lose less on the sleeve than bypass?
tlemieux220 replied to bangbangbarbie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dear bangbangbarbie I have chosen the Sleeve because I am 5 ft tall and weigh 235 lbs, I started at 240 lbs and my surgeon didn't feel like I would be a good candidate for the bypass and the band is not something I wanted to deal with. So we decided to do the sleeve less evasive. My goal weight is between 135 and 140, if when I get there I feel I could lose more then I will, so as of right now I would be comfortable just losing the 95-100 lbs. It is up to you with both the bypass and the sleeve, you can re-stretch out both of them. One of the ladies in my doctors office had the bypass 14 years ago and a couple of years ago she went through the change of life she gained back some of her weight, so depends on you and what you are willing to do to keep it off. -

Vitamin Blender - anyone have one for after surgery?
tlemieux220 replied to suitechicguy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I bought the Nutribullet RX, and I love it especially if you want to eat apples and veggies. I found it works really well, I have not made any of the soups yet with it, but the smoothes are out of this world and it was only $199.00 at Bed Bath and Beyond. I am not on pre-op diet yet but am starting to use it to get ready for when that day comes. -

Dear LBS15, I was wanted to let you know I am doing the same exact steps right now with my sleeve. I have been trying to get this done since July 28, 2014, and it feels good to be almost done now. My starting weight is the same as yours as well, so I hope that we can keep in touch and maybe keep each other accountable. Please let me know. Thanks Tess -

Pre-op testing?
tlemieux220 replied to BloomingLotus's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know exactly how you feel, I went through True Results and then was told that they cannot do the sleeve, I started this process in July with them. Then they had me do my psy eval and when I met withe the new sugeon he would not except the eval, so I had to do another one. Luckly they are using my weigh ins that I had already done in Sept, Oct, and Nov with True Results and I have to go to counseling before and after my surgery, or they would not do the surgery as well. I was able to get a clearance letter, and as of yesterday the submitted my file and tomorrow I am going to do my blood work and wait now for my PCP clearance and insurance to approval. BloomingLotus I wish you the best of luck, and I hope you are very successful with the rest of your jouney. -

I'm done telling folks. They don't get it
tlemieux220 replied to wannaBthinsoon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I finally broke down and told my Mother-In-Law. She is the one person I was not going to tell because she is the type of person who researches everything and can find something wrong. The way I worked it in was to tell her about what my primary doctor found out about my back, which I have tilted pelvis and deterioration of my lower spine. I have already had a perment knee replacement on my right knee and I have hernia as well. I told her this would be a great way to help with all three, if I get the weigh off it will help with my back and knees and they can then take out the hernia at the same time. Everyone else that I have told is very supportive of me doing this surgery. I have been trying to lose weigh for years now and just can't seem to lose anything. I just found out that once I get the letter from my theripist then I can have my information submitted to my insureance, so I am so excited and can't wait until this whole process is over. -

Pre-op diet...... Destroyed!
tlemieux220 replied to waitingtoexhale's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dear waitingtoexhale, I really understand how you feel. I have wondered myself if I am going to be able to handle the two liquid diet that I am suppose to do, my surgery is not going to be until later in Dec, and with the holidays and family birthdays during this time frame I am also scared that I am not going to be on track. I hope that I am as strong as you and post my feeling here too if I need comfort. Please don' t take what people are saying a crule, I think they are just wanting people like us who need help to know what the facts are. I hope to hear more from you once the you are in post op. I would like to know how things go, so I know what to look forward too. Sincerely, Tlemieux. -
Anyone Else Just Starting Their Journey?
tlemieux220 replied to fluffytofit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, I am 46 years old and just started this process myself in July, I have had two weigh ins. My original weight was 240 as of 9/4/14 I was at 239, but then we had a cruise to Alaska, and I know I gained weight. Per my insureance Atena, I am not allowed to gain even one pound over the 240, so I hope I can get the 3 lbs off by 10/10/14, after this date I only have one more weigh in in Nov. I have the Esophagogastroduodenscopy (EGD) and they found a small hernia. We just wait and see what they want to do next I guess.
