Sleeved, now what to do about the gurgling noises?
tlemieux220 replied to Mel24's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have the gurgling too especially after I eat and that also is away for me to know I am full. -
I too had this happen to me last week, I think our minds still feel we can eat like we use too, and it is hard when you have a family and cook for them as well as yourself. I know when I had this meat and carbs last Thursday, I was sicker then a dog for about 3-4 hours and it was impossible for me to look at anything to eat for a long while. What I did want create a menu for myself and a co-worker who is helping at work and we are eating smaller meals but every two to two and a half hours. It seems to be working better for me. Try something like that and see if it helps, but remember to eat the Protein first them the veggie or fruit, just incase you get full. Protein will help you heal faster and keep you full longer.

I tried to eat an egg the other day and I could only eat 1/2 an egg. It is amazing on how fast I get full. Love it. -
Feeling like I am taking the easy way out :-/
tlemieux220 replied to Butterfly512's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am 47 years old have have always been over weight since I was 6 years old. When I was 9 and placed into a girls group home one of the counslers there told me I was fat and I should only eat salad. I felt ashamed. I was then placed into foster care and when I was in a size 12 in high school I was told by my family that I was fat. Now I look at that picture of me and think WOW I was skinny. Not as skinny as everyone else but skinny. I have fought the last 13 years back and forth between 215-240 remember I am only 5 ft tall, so it looks like I weigh 300 lbs. It took me 7 years to come to this decision to do WLS and it was the best choice I have ever made. It is not an easy decision, but for all of us here it seems to be the right decision for us and our families. I am very luck to have a great support system at home and work. Maybe I am one of the luck ones, but most of the people who support me know the pain I was in before the WLS and see the difference in me in only 4 weeks. I wish you the best of luck and hope what I am saying helps you out. -
WLS on St. Patty's Day
tlemieux220 replied to AngelaIsReady's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, it is better today then the rest of the week. I am going to go back to the gym starting tomorrow and see if walking on the treadmill will help with my losing. Keep me posted on how you are doing and maybe we could support each other. It would really be nice to have someone who is going through the samething. -
WLS on St. Patty's Day
tlemieux220 replied to AngelaIsReady's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am doing much better today, I spoke to the nurse who stated is sounds like I pulled the muscle where they took out the stomach. I went home early yesterday and stayed in bed. I decided to wear a dress to work today to see if maybe the pants are causing the hurting as well since I sit all day at work. I hope they find out what happened with you. My surgeon stated if I don't drink enough Water or liquids that that can cause people to go back to the hospital. Are you getting all of your Proteins and liquids in? I have lost 20 lbs so far, but now at a stand still, I think it is because I am back at work week and my body has to get use to being back and not resting and hoping it will continue to go down. Thanks for checking up on me. -
WLS on St. Patty's Day
tlemieux220 replied to AngelaIsReady's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have a question from all my friends who had their sleeve on 03/17/15. Do any of you still have pain where the stomach was removed? I was better up until Monday 04/06/15 when I think I pulled something. Went to Primary Care yesterday who stated it should be okay. It hurts to bend just like when the sleeve was done, do you think I should call the surgeon? -
HAD SURGERY 3/31/15
tlemieux220 replied to Butterfly85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on 3/17, and it took me 5-7 days before all the gas was gone. I walked a lot and it finally subsided. I can now also sleep on my sides again. So give it time. As of today, I am at 215.4, I am so excited since I have not been at this weight in 5 years. I have lost a total of 20 lbs, thanks for all the support on this site. -
Two weeks po-op tomorrow. Feeling great down 16lbs and 8 inches. Go back for check up 4/1.

tlemieux220 replied to kp1971us's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure if anyone can answer a couple questions. I had my sleeve 3/17. Came home 3/18. Still have lots of gas and pain on the side. Has anyone had any of these issues, can't poop, sleep and hard to breathe when laying down? -

tlemieux220 replied to time for june's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why do different doctor's have different pre-op diets for everyone? I have been seening post of people being able to eat food, and some of us have to have nothing but liquid diets for two weeks. I have been on liquids for one week now, and it has not been hard, but then I see some people being able to have shakes and eat on meal a day. What is the difference? -

I am on day 4 and it seems to be going good for me. I have V8 juice, broth and swansons has some with different flavors. Muscel Milk are my favorite Protein shakes. The first day is the worst because I was so hungry but now I am doing really good. 4 down 10 to go, my surgery is the 17th. Good luck... -

Dear Mo, I have heard different things like some people not having to do a pre-op diet at all and some people have to do it for 3-4 weeks before. My surgeon has everyone do the pre-op for 2 weeks regarless of how much they weigh or have to lose. -

Unsupportive Primary Care Doctor
tlemieux220 replied to Slimsoon1988's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love my PCP, I went into him a couple of months ago, because with Aetna you have to have two letters from your PCP one stating he is okay with the surgery and the other clearing you for surgery. Pretty dumb I know, but he is the first doctor that was on myside with my losing weight, and just didn't tell me to do it on my own or take HCG shots. Now it is just the waiting game with my surgeons office to call and set up the date, have been waiting for a week now.
