    Labor Day Challenge!

How long was your longest stall?

The longest stall that I have had in the last almost 5 months was 5 weeks. I was stuck between 203-201, but as of today I am back at 200 lbs. We all stall, but sometime the stall can be because we are choosing not to drink our Water or eat our Protein and eat a lot of carbs. We all use food as confort, I know I was, but I also had to check myself at the door and say I am not doing this anymore. Self Sabatage is the hardest thing to work on especially when you don't want to admit it to yourself.

    Labor Day Challenge!

I am so excited to say I am back down to 200 lbs as of this week. It has been a long haul since my car accident 3 weeks ago. I started to get back into my old habits, but now I am back on track.
  4. I have been back to work for a week now, and I have noticed that when I am at work I want to eat. Has anyone else had this issue? I found myself the last couple of days wanting to go back to my old ways of eating because of others around me at work. I ate a soft taco with a few chips it took me about 2 1/2 hours but I ate it anyway. Last night it continued when I got home and I had 4 spoonfulls of Mac and cheese with my girls for dinner and I paid the price for it and got sick. I don't want that feeling ever again, I felt like I could not breath and wanted to puck but nothing happened. It took 2 hours for me to feel good again, but today while at work I want to eat crackers. I need help what should I do to stop this insanity? Any suggestions?

    Labor Day Challenge!

I am struggling to get back on track.. I know I am not getting in all my water, and I have been going up and down by 1 to 2 lbs these last couple of weeks. Stress is a big factor, sometimes I feel like I am sabotaging myself. I have not been under 200 lbs in so long that it seems scary to me to be there. Just venting.

    So I've noticed...

I was told a couple of days ago that I seem happier now then I did before my surgery. I would say I am much happier then I was before. I have only lost 40 lbs in 4 months, but I am happy with my progress, I know that I should be around 50 lbs right now, but I am okay with where I am. My goal is still another 70lbs by 03/17/16 my anniversary date.

    March Sleevers

I had my surgery on March 17th. Yesteday I hit a mile stone for me. I am now at 200 lbs. I know that doesn't seem like a lot to some of you, since I started at 240 lbs, however the last time I weighed this was 14 years ago when I was 3 month pregnant with my now 13 1/2 year old daughter. When I got married the year before I was at 185, so this is an amazing mark for me. I am going to do the Labor Day Challange and I am hoping to hit 180 by 9/7/15. I know I can do this.

    Need reassurance

If that doesn't work try drinking a cup of coffee I know this sounds wierd, but it works for me. If neither of these things work then I would make an appointment with either your surgeon or PCP.
  19. I feel this is up to each Individual person on if they tell others about their WLS. People are people and they judge no matter what you do, if you were to have lost weight on your own using Shakeology, Herbailife, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craigs, or anyother program. I have tried all of them except Shakeology since it is new and I just didn't want to waste my time again on something that probably would not have worked for me. I have worried way to many years about what others think. This time is for me and whether I lose 50 lbs or I lose my total 105 lbs. I really don't care what people think that have not been in my situtation. I love my sleeve! I even want my husband to join me in this journey but it is his decision.

    bertholian cysts anyone?

I get these at least 4 to 5 times a year, yes they are very painful, but I had them way before sugery. My doctor states to take hot baths with Epsom Salt this will help with the pain and it usually helps the cyst pop if needed. But if that doesn't help see your doctor to get help...

    Anniversary Trip

We are going to Vegas in two weeks as well, but we decided to order one meal and split it between the two of us. We did that for our Anniversary and it worked out wonderfully. In fact for Fathers Day we took the kids to Red Robin and I ordered the wedge salad and I had a bit of his patty melt and that was all I could eat, but I felt that I was not deprived, so I know I will do great in Vegas, it's all about making smart choices now, and not just thinking about food.

Any couples out there both sleeved?

No, but my husband is thinking about doing this as well, so he is seeing if he can do it on his own one more time before he decides to go through with it. I gave he 6 months to decide and we are in month 3 now and he has only lost 14 lbs. thanks for this topic. I will keep close tabs on it.

Looking for stats on 5'0" females..

I am 5' 0" and I started my journey at 240 lbs and now I am at 203.6 and am 3 months out now. I have been over weight most of my life and I looked like I weighed 300 lbs when I started this process. I was so out of shape it wasn't even funny. I have had a total knee replacement due to my joints because of my weight. I have a lot of arthritis in my joints and was always in pain, but since this WLS, I have a lot less pain and can move quicker then before.

6 months post sleeve and need help!

I measure myself when I have a stall or go up a pound or two just to see what is happening, I have lost 2 inches in the chest, 5 inches in the middle, and 5 inches in the hips. Went from a 22 to 16 dress size not in pants, I am still in a 20 for pants, however the only part that I have trouble with there is the lower stomach (part of the hip area). You can call it my smile, skirt, or whatever, but that seems to be my problem area. Each time I hit a stall I do get upset, however it makes me want to look in my closet for something old but new to me to try on and if it fits, it gives me new hope that my sleeve is working, I have been able to wear clothes that I have not worn in 6 years and can shop in my own closet. Try these things and see if they help. I know we all get discouraged, when the scale doesn't move, but why are we going back to our old ways, this was why we had WLS is to help us out and not rely on the scale.
