Got approval and surgery date today!

Monasongbird, have you started your liquid diet yet? If so, how is it going? I've lost almost 10 pounds but have NO energy!
  2. I am so glad you have another appointment. Can I ask where you live? There are threads on this forum about doctors in different areas. I hope you have better luck with another doctor. This is a very exciting journey, and yet tough. You don't need the added pressure from a doctor trying to push their products.

    Freaking Out Right Now

I am really sad for you but I think you have probably been talking yourself out of it for awhile. It's not like you went in to the doctor one day, and surgery was scheduled for the next. This process took months of preparation. Obviously regular diets don't work for you, or you would have never looked into surgery. I fear this is going to be a decision you will regret later on. I would suggest if you consider it again, meet with a psychologist several times, to talk about your fears. I wish you all the best.

    Last meal

Be careful if you are having your last meal after doing pre op liquid diet. It can make you really sick. I did mine before I started my preop liquid diet.

    Protein brand help

I found 4 packs of premier at Walmart.
  8. I have Aetna too, and just got approved after my 3 months. First of all, fluctuations in weight are OK, but you cannot have any gain from your first visit to your last. Meaning, your weight from your first visit must be the same or less when you weigh at your last nutrition visit. The middle isn't as important as long as they are not big fluctuations. I only had to pay for my 4 nutrition visits. $50 each. I didn't have to do any other classes. Your doctor may require different things. It must be your doctors policy to buy their products, as Aetna does not require that. I have been able to get my own shakes and vitamins. My nutritionist gave me many suggestions. Honestly since you just started, I would consider finding a different doctor that doesn't require so much extra that insurance doesn't ask for. Just my opinion as I had an incredibly easy process with the same insurance.
  9. Hi! I have one more nut visit on Monday and then I am all set for insurance approval. I am now starting to overthink everything and am worried about not getting approved. I have a 56 BMI, diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. So, on paper I am a great candidate. I just keep thinking insurance will find one reason to say no. I have Aetna and have done the 3 month path. I am sure I'm just worrying for nothing. Anyone else have Aetna and if so, how hard or easy was approval? Thanks in advance!
