What is everyone NOT going to miss after sleeve?
puttingme1st replied to alexsisv's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to admit I used to be one that thought surgery was the easy way out. However, being 7 weeks out now, I can say this is the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but also the most rewarding. -

Second Guessing my decision for surgery
puttingme1st replied to ojibway's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The way I looked at it, the consequences of NOT having surgery far outweighed the possible side effects from surgery. I am almost 4 weeks, out and have absolutely no regrets. -
Pre Surgery Preparation Tips!
puttingme1st replied to Asher325's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Start now practicing chewing a lot, taking small sips and not drinking with meals. If you are already in those habits now, it will help a lot after surgery. Also, see if you can find a support group close to you. I started going to a weekly one before surgery and it has helped so much post op. Find protein drinks you like now for preop but don't buy too many because your tastes change post op. I had a BMI of 58 and had to do the two week. I also started walking before surgery so my body was used to it post op. I am 3 weeks out and my recovery has gone really smoothly. -

Today I hit 299. I have not been under 300 in 5 years. And that time was because I lost weight for a trip to Hawaii. I came home and gained it all back. For the first time in my life, I know I will never be over 300 again because I'm not doing it because of some silly goal like a trip, a reunion, family holiday. I'm finally doing it for the right reasons. Almost 3 weeks post op and I have not regretted my decision for even one second.

I had Dr. Kilgore. Surgery on 10/22. She is the BEST! no regrets. -
I called my coordinator to make sure she submitted, then a week later I called my insurance to make sure they got everything. It was during that phone call I found out I was approved!

Since being sleeved 5 days ago, I have been having a hard time getting my protein. It is all too sweet. Upon the recommendation of this forum and checking with my nut, I ordered genepro. I tried it for the first time tonight and it's amazing. You can't even taste it. I just mix it in my crystal lite and drink away! I'm so happy.

Genepro protein rocks!

All I can go off is my nutritionist, my surgeon, my GP and my hematologist. . All put genepro at the top of their list. I have to believe in what they say. -
Genepro protein rocks!
puttingme1st replied to puttingme1st's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've never tasted it. I only put it in crystal light or water. Mostly crystal light. I use a blender bottle to mix it real well. -
I'm trying not to get discouraged but tomorrow will be 2 weeks and I'm only down 10 pounds. I'm getting all my protein and water and have not cheated at all. I walk a mile everyday. Anyone else go through this? Any advice to get the scale moving? Thanks.
