Have you been filled at all yet. I couldn't get in for a fill until early Dec. I figure I will be well healed by them. So for now I am hungry and have lots of capacity for food. I am worried, but trying to exercise to compensate.

I was rebanded on oct. 7th and have not had any fills. Right now I am eating normally and gaining weight. I have recently execizing. So I am a bit nervous about what will happen, but I did lose 60 pounds the first time around so i'm hoping I'll have the same success this time around.

I'm 60 and had it done and redone. I would do it again tomorrow. I have spent most of my adult life fat so it is nice to finally have some success with losing. Right now I am on hold as I have not had a fill yet since my rebanding Oct. 7 2009. I was back to work on Tuesday. Good luck with your decision.

I have a friend that would say, You just had the "Oh S_ _ _ fill". Much weight loss will follow. I just had a new band put in the other slipped and made me miserable. I am feeling pretty normal and not having a fill until early Dec. So needless to say weight loss is not happening quite the opposite. It is a downer, but once I have the o s fill I will look forward to losing the rest of my weight.

Hello, I have just be rebanded after 2 years. i lost 64 pounds and started becoming quite sick. I had the surgery Oct. 7 2009 and I am impressed with how quickly I am recovering. All my stitches around the band were severed. I hope I can now lose the other 60 I need to lose. Has anyone here done any plastic surgery when they lost all they wanted to.

My band slipped too and I am going in for a replacement band on Oct. 7th. My insurance is paying, because it needs to be fixed. I have 50 pounds more to lose and I can't wait for it to be replaced. I just hope it works well, because it worked well the first time for a year. Now hopefully it will work again. Good luck with your decisions. trish

Hi I too lost 60 pounds and then I had days I could not eat and vomited anything I put in my mouth. I am having the band replaced Nov. 11th. I am unaware of the name of the band. I too am looking forward to losing the other 60 pounds. My only worry is if this happened once will it happen again.

I had my band done Aug. 2007 and I have lost 80 pounds. I am stuck right now. I am also PBIng way too much. The crazy part is as I go through the 6 to 8 weeks before my next visit. I find I cannot eat as much once a month goes by. I am going to call my doctor tomorrow and get in a quick visit and have some fill removed. I tend to eat too fast which doesn't give enough time to chew my food well. Once I start PBing it can go on for many hours. My doctor always says I am just too tight. It can be painful too. Thanks for the motivation to call my doctor and have some fill taken out.

I have not had any luck with eating bread or pasta. In the 1 1/2 years since surgery, I have had very little of either. I can count on one hand how many times I've eaten them. I will try the organic suggestion and see if I can eat that. trish

Hi I am 1 1/2 years since surgery. I'm down about 93 pounds. I have found the best Protein is unjury and I buy it online. Just google Unjury and you will find it.They have chocolate, vanilla, strawberry sorbet, chicken Soup and unflavored. I like it, because you can buy samples to see if you like it. I have tried the vanilla and Chicken Soup. I think they are good and give 20 grams protein. I mix the vanilla with my coffee in the morning. I mix it in the magic bullet. It is not cheap, but tastes okay. I really like the chicken soup, but be sure to follow the directions. The first time I used it, I heated it the microwave and it ruined it. You only need to mix it in warm Water. I like it during the winter, because I enjoy soup in the cold winter. Hope this helps. trish

Heartburn at 1 year anniversary
grantp replied to jlw190's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am about 1 1/2 year post op and I can eat very little and just recently I am having a problem after I eat about an hour or 2 later and experience pain like a cramping around the stomach. I then vomit a little. I am going to give it another day and then I am going to call my doctor. I'm sorry I can't help you, but let me know what you find out and I will do the same. -

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
grantp replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would like to join the 50 plus group. I am confused as to where this forum is. Please let me know what I need to do. trish -
Please do not minimize the 50 pounds you have lost. Your life is filled with so many demands and your best friend, food, is gone. You are my inspiration as I am in a funk right now, but when I see your success it motivates me to be better with my overeating and vomiting. We have been overeaters for years and lap band is only a tool, it will take some time to undo our years of poor eating habits. Be patient and kind to yourself. trish

lapband for 2 yrs and loving it!
grantp replied to BigIron's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello, I am almost into a full year as a lap bander. I am very happy as I have lost 78 pounds. However, I am constantly vomiting and I have recently been told I am low in Vitamin D and taking prescribed doses of it. i am seeing my doctor today and hopefully will have some saline removed so that I can eat something without vomiting. i try eating properly and then i vomit. Eventually I will eat the junk to feel some satisfaction. I'm considering seeking some counseling, because i think I need it. Did you have any of these issues in your first year? trish -
I am at 60 pounds too. How much can you eat of solid food and not have to bring it up. I have had only 3 fills and the last time I had some taken out. I still do a lot of vomiting. Any suggestions.

I am happy to see that someone else has stuck days and "I can eat days." I find I am still adjusting to what I can eat and not eat and how it goes down. Unfortunately, the junk food goes down the easiest. When it gets stuck I have pain in my chest and I start spitting up. Does that happen to anyone?

Arbonne Shakes for pre-op, anyone tried?
grantp replied to kimmi5207's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Get the cheapest one with the greatest amount of protein. I have mine with my coffee and lots of sugarfree french vanilla. I also have it with fruit and a creamer, sugarfree. trish -
Am I the only bandster not losing?
grantp replied to Liz1531's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was able to eat normally until the 3rd fill and now I can only eat for example 3 shrimp with a lot of chewing. I have lost 31 pounds. I had my lap band put in on 8/13/07. I also gained 20 pounds before I had surgery. So from my normal weight, I've lost about 13 pounds. Good luck. trish -
I take my coffee in the morning mix it with a vanilla Protein drink and add lots of sugar free french vanilla coffee mate. I use same protein and add some canned peaches and peach yogurt and creamer. I'm wanting something warm so I will puree some Soup and add some plain protein mix to that. I'll let you know how it works.
