PostOp Diet... what can I have?

Pudding is my fav lol. I am on day 8 as surgery was Oct 16. I have oatmeal and creamy soups with mushed carrots. I'll do rutabaga tomorrow. Greek yogurt I tried again today. It has been giving me the runs. Trying to balance getting 60 to 80 grams of protein ( seems impossible) and drinking water. I love this sleeve!

    Sleeved Monday October 20

Day 1 I have 5 sips of beef broth. I was sipping very little water. Day 2 I have 6 licks of popsicle and 5 spoons of cream of chicken soup. Day 3 I had 7 spoons of cream of tomato and almost 1/3 of yogurt. Almost full cup of water all day. Day 4 I managed to eat a whole jello. Took 3 hours but I did it. Then bam. Next thing I knew I was feeling "hungry" and had 1/2 cup of soup 2 times. I'm day 7 today and already had 1 cup of shake I made with strawberries, banana and choc whey. I'll have at least 3 cups of soup and mushed up carrots to add to my soups.

    I can eat so much.

I'm 1 week out and surprised myself on how much I am handling. I have been sipping and so careful but my sleeve doesnt mind anything! Made cream of Potatoe with mushed carrots and cheese yesterday and got 1 cup in me in 30 min. Today I had a great smoothie with whey protein.

    Calling all October Sleevers

Surgery was October 16th so almost 4 days later now. Was in hospital until yesterday. Acid reflux and nausea was bad first 2 days and I could only do a few spoonfuls but I was even able to get cream soup and yogurt down day 2 and 3. Today is my first day "hungry" and I've had a full jello, pudding and 1 cup of soup. I had my gallbladder out at same time. I walked the block. I'm feeling great. I don't mind sipping. My prepop diet I lost 29 pounds. Haven't weighed in yet since. All I know is I am on the right track and I feel great!

    Calgary People?

Hi Joan...yes its a lot of hoops for sure but they really teach you tools that will prepare you for lifelong health. I did start my process in 2012 but I declined surgery then. I only decided I wanted surgery this February. Met the surgeon in April. It took me less then 6 months and it's local and free. I'll be at Peter lougheed. I just stocked up on my ensure high protein. Keep in touch. Would be great to go thru this with ppl.

    Calgary People?

Hi Ladies I'm in Calgary and scheduled for sleeve Oct 23rd, 2014. I start my ensure HP only for 21 days on Oct 2nd. There is a great weight clinic here in the city for these surgeries.. interested why people are flying and paying for this? If there is a need for surgery then Alberta health does cover it. Look forward to chatting!
