I haven't seen many posts about ppl with similar height/weight as me. I'm 13 days from my surgery and I would like to hear from others that are or were my my size when they began they're journey. I would like to hear ALL about it! ????

Been getting them more and more. I'm 2weeks post-op and I'm a bit dehydrated. So after just one sip of water there I go and start with the hiccups ????

Any successful losers have any tips on how to avoid loose skin and apron....? This would be such a devastation for me after achieving my weight goal and I really just want to love my body again? I want to be confident again to show my husband my new healthy body and I don't wanna have to continue to hide my naked body. ????

Thank you !!!!! ????????

So there are few things I did not expect after surgery. 1. Pain- the level of pain that I felt on day 1 was absurd! My nurse told my husband that I asked for pain meds every ten minutes...... I was on so much dilaudid that I don't remember that. But I don't doubt it. I have had other laparoscopic surgeries and had no pain. This surgery obviously was not the same. The pain continued thru day 2 & 3. Each day lessened in severity. Day 3 i took no meds (don't like liquids) until when I got home. I cut a narcotic in fourths and swallowed them. Day 4 I did not take meds, except a small anxiety pill to help me sleep. Day 5 is today, I am relatively pain free. 2. Uncomfortable - the level of discomfort was also absurd. I could not ingest liquids for the life of me. If I took 1/10th of a sip, I would feel as though I chugged a gallon of water. Needless to say, it is very hard to get in sufficient amounts of liquid when you wake up feeling like u drank all of the oceans water! ???? 3. Bloated-ness! --ugh! I looked like I was 6 months pregnant for the 1st 4 days of this process. I was so bloated that my lower abdomen hurt from just hanging. Very sore n sensitive. 4. The muscle aches: I had laparoscopic surg before and knew that the gas that is used to inflate your stomach cavity can cause the muscle aches that usually radiate to the shoulders. In spite of knowing this. I wasn't ready to feel this pain in the entire torso front and back! I attribute much of my excessive dilaudid requests to this pain. I got up once the day of my surgery to walk. I got up 5 times in day 2, by day 3 the pain was minimal but I still did my laps around the hospital floor.... Just in case! But the GOOD NEWS is that everyday IT GETS BETTER! All the pain, bloating, & discomfort starts to diminish at the same rate. Today is day 5 for me, and I am feeling fabulous!!!!! NO REGRETS!!!!! ????

Any tips on avoiding loose skin.....?
newxina replied to newxina's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
@@Katie8907 I'm concerned with the initial rapid weight loss. I had rapid weight loss before and I had the loose skin and the apron. Of course I was real weak and sickly that I didn't exercise. Maybe that is the trick. Hmmmm -

@@microdot - I did not realize I missed your post. That is exactly what I needed to hear today!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! Deciding between sleeve and the bypass has proven to be very difficult. Initially I was set on the sleeve but after talking to many post-op patients I have reconsidered my decision. It makes me very excited to know that you were basically in my shoes just 1 year and 8 months ago. I know it may sound cheesy but all of the sudden I got this feeling that if you can do it, I can do it too!!!! Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!!! ????????????????
