I specifically waited before I posted, so I was able to give an accurate summation of the procedure and days following without stressing pre-op patients out.

The surgery went well on October 21st. The hospital stay was less than pleasant, not because of my surgery.... because the psi meds through my IV made me terribly sick. The first 2 days in the hospital I was pretty out of it. Once I regained my senses, I took control by insisting I had no narcotics for pain. One the pain meds were out of my system, I felt much better. I was released the afternoon of the third day. I did not want to post brand new fears or negative comments... because I knew what I signed up for and wanted to allow the process to play out so I could heal and learn prior to a public opinion. It is not easy... but YES, I would do it again. I believe the few rough days followed by a new learning curve for lifestyle changes will be worth it in the long run. From pre-surgery diet to present I have lost 20 lbs. I am not going to tell you its wonderful... I am mentally ready to begin incorporating food back into my daily routine... but my body is not there yet. I have been eating (drinking) protein shakes with blended bananas and or strawberries. I have actually enjoyed cream of potato soup... blended ... no chunks. G2 gatorade... my go to for ounces... refreshing and not thick.. I have cooked normally for my family, roast, enchiladas, chicken and rice, etc...
but admit, I go do a load of laundry while they eat. although I am not feeling "hunger" I am feeling "miss eating pains". So, for that I simply leave the room .... letting them know I will join them at the table as soon as I can eat solid food. A very small sacrifice for a happier, healthier me So... the summation of my weight loss surgery experience up to this point... I have had a positive attitude, some difficulty with nausea and vomiting in the hospital, then once home, a goal to get up and move and start my day moving forward. My energy is low, so I do not over do it.. but I am aware of what I eat, drink and look forward too.
Its not easy folks.... I signed up for this .... and yes, I would do it again. i know it'll be worth it in the long run
Blessings
