-
I had UH and they are awesome took a couple of weeks after dr sent papers. They pay quick and pay for fills!!!!! I just have to make sure all providers are in network
-
I think you are asking about 1/2 a cup not a can.....renebean answered what you want i think ...

just think protein first, veggies next , and carbs if there if room. I got my first fill last week and am eating less but not as little as i thought. I am battling the monthly hormone demon and eating my way thorough life one small portion at a time but maintaining weight loss. Next week i will lose big. I lost 6 lbs last week. I just try to remember protein first..... pasta is no problem at all. I just dont want to fill up on it since there is limited protein.

Are you a closet bandster? & Do you regret your decision?
ajack replied to Time to love me's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am NOT a closet bandster! however some times i wish i was! My mother has the biggest mouth! We go to a restaurant and i order small or off the senior menu(waitress didnt ask why) and mom sez tell her WHY you are ordering off that menu. I looked at her in front of the waitress and all and said if she needed to know she would have ask and if i needed her to know i would have told her. Why dont you let me decide who i tell. Boy did that shut her up!! lol I am torn because like I have a group of friends (15) who i went to high school with and we all get together every 4-6 wks and four of us are fat chicks and the others are skinny. They are constantly talking wl crap and it does get soooo old... So next week we meet for our weekend trip and only the three other fat chicks know. So i am trying to decide to tell or not to tell...... I tell some complete strangers and if someone brings it up i am supportive. like the other day and old family friend came in and said his wife is talking about gastric bypass and i went and talked to her about Lapband. Other times i see Very Obese people and i just want to run up and tell them because sooo many people dont even know LB exists. I am worried that if i tell people and fail i will be embarrassed but if i do tell people i feel more accountable But my comment to some of you who say your friends are not supportive.....they are not your friends. Here is a funny story the other day a guy (pig) was a customer at our family business.... He called and ask a question about his car in our shop, i muted him to ask a question and he says to his buddy " if she has to get off her ass we could be here a while" I unmuted the phone and called him on it and told him he was rude and a pig... Later when he came to get his car he was TOTALLY kissing my butt.... telling me i misunderstood him and he meant something else ...blah blah blah i told him he was full of crap and that i just had surgery to lose weight but he was still going to be a jerk when i was skinny i laughed after he left had to share angie -
I dont think that excludes the surgery. I have united and they pd mine.

Is there anyone who is over 350lbs? I will be banded soon but only see people on here that are 200's . I would like to hear successes and problems. What about exercise? I have heel spurs really bad and it hurts to walk and of course i get winded.
-
Well I was banded on 8-17 and have lost 12 lbs. Saw the doc on tues and get a fill 9-27...have started mushies feeling pretty good. Some time s i get up too quick ( i think they wrapped that tube around my diaphram and rib)lol i have a golf ball knot at my port incision that makes it hard to sleep on my stomach like I want. The swelling around the port in still uncomfortable.

I am having mine done just under 6 wks and my doc's nurse sd if you have the bigger band then you can even go 5 wks. You should be fine it is only 4 days difference.

This is a great post but I still dont get it. I used to work with a gal who was 130 lbs max and she hated me. I mean she HATED me. From the day I walked in the door she was nasty to me. I didnt understand wht i had done to her and one day talking to my boss/friend she told me that this other gal used to weigh like 375 pounds and she couldnt stand me cause I was fat. I was appauld!!!!!!! I thought/think this is absurd. I see other fat people (super MO) and feel pity. Now I want to tell everyone about lap band. Yesterday I went with a friend to her dr (pcp) he had never heard of it ( as was the case with my DR. No one in this town has . If the Dr's dont even know about it how will the people. SO I think after I lose a little bit I am going to have the newspaper do an article about it/me. They just had an article and picture of me in there so it could be fun in a few months to do another. The first was about volunteer work i do. Any how back to this thought of hating fat people. I hate un fat friendly places and people. I think that is like hating someone because they are in a wheelchair..... they GOT themselves hurt........get my point?

I am two weeks out from surgery. I see the doc for follow up tomorrow. I have lost 12 lbs. But seriously LIQUIDS only ...... My family and life are too complicated. I cant watch someone without a nibble or two. They all go to dinner what do I do? some times soup but then what soup only goes so far. My sister is harping at me.(Getting old) she is afraid i will hurt the band/pouch. I was careful the first week but then added one scrambled egg w/ cheese. then mashed potatoes. then tow prawns w/ tartar. then egg foo yung. rice with gravy. cracker with cheese spread. only an ounce or two at a time /a fork full then wait 5 min. I take tiny bites and savor it. But am I hurting anything? I think I am being careful and I am losing weight.........HELP ME...........

raging anger and completly discouraged, who me?
ajack replied to vinesqueen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am sure you already know this but muscle weighs more that fat.......so it sounds like you have built muscle and lost fat. "toned" yourself if you will the NSV speak louder than the damned scale ....but for your next tantrum try going to the goodwill and buy a few ( or a lot) of cheap plates/bowls then find a brick wall ....make sure you take a broom and dust pan though....clean up is exercise too..... also bowling .. i used to go to the bowling alley and pay for a game or two and throw balls as fast and hard as i could ...boy did i feel better... Screw the scales NSV ROCK!! -
any problems with liquids? i have not been banded yet so not much help. maybe you should call the doc.

I think 1000-1200 is good but i have to start the first three weeks at 30 grams Protein and 550 cal. full liquid diet then 800 and 60 grams protein for 3 weeks then a little more. my mother in law is afraid that i will starve to death the first 3 weeks. of course she is 110 lbs dripping wet and never dieted a day in her life so how the hell would she know. she is telling everyone she is sooooo worried about me ....PLEASE....she is sure this isnt safe.....WHATEVER Can anyone help me with this ticker thingy........aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhh
