Hello! My usual name is Val and I had a vertical gastric sleeve completed on September 15, 2014. My surgeon was Dr Daniel Fang and is associated with the Bridges program at St. Luke's in Phoenix AZ.
For many years, I mulled over the idea of surgery as I have never been able lose weight and keep it off. I finally made the decision to have it when in April 2014, my Doc diagnosed me as pre diabetic. I am hoping this might keep it from progressing but I come from a family history of diabetics, so realistically, I am just hoping to avoid insulin.
I am pretty laid back and have never been one to make a serious effort toward exercise, which I know will have to change.
I am hoping that my experience will be positive and may help someone else, especially anyone with a mental health issue. I have Bipolar and take medications to keep it under control.
