  1. I am 6 months post op and still get nauseous. Most of the time it occurs in the morning but there are other times that it happens throughout the day. Its frustrating. Its not severe but an annoying nauseous pain. I try to eat light in the morning being that I have never been able to eat in the morning. As for Protein, the only drink I can tolerate is Premier Protein. They usually sell it at costco, bjs and sams club. Unfortunately due to the surgery I have become lactose intolerant. I live by Lactaid now and that allows me to drink the protein. i hope youre feeling better.. if not hang in there it does ease up.

    Sept 3 sleevers?

Good morning! Right now i am eating a lot of ground turkey, chicken and other meats. Just not pork or beef (still not allowed) Sometimes I have issues getting food in but you just have to make sure that you eat slow. I am addicted to peanutbutter and cheese. Love it. As far as the weight loss goes, everyone is different. Someone may lose tons of weight the first 2-3 months and then slow down where as someone else may start losing a lot in month 3. It also depends on your body. Everyone has different problem areas. I have been trying to stay away from things with high sugar and carbs. I drink A LOT of unsweetened iced tea, hot tea and Water. I thought i would be losing a lot quicker because a friend of mine had the sleeve a month before and in the first month she was up to about 35 lbs lost. Just remember, as much as you want to compare yourself with everyone else.. just as with running, dont do it because everyones body is different.

    Sept 3 sleevers?

There wre days where I could not even look at or smell food. I also had a point where I was waking up every morning with the worst nauseous feeling. I did a little research and read that it is normal to feel nauseous after surgery and it can last up to a few months. I have noticed for me it is starting to subside a little. Now I get naseous when i drink Water but I think it might be because I am drinking it too fast. There was one day at home I was getting ready to leave for work and I literally had to run to the bathroom with dry heaves... if it is as bad as you are saying it is though I would def. contact your Dr. if it doesnt start to subside.. Good Luck!!!

    New Jersey Sleevers?

Hey Andy! If you are in 4 East they are amazing. Every time I had an issue they were there right away. Candice and Jolly (?) were amazing nurses but of course everyone was great. Just try to walk as much as possible and try to drink as much as possible!

    New Jersey Sleevers?

Hey Everyone!! Sooo I'm excited that there are a lot of patients of Dr. Strom on here! I originally had the band in 2010 on Long Island. (Originally from there.) After my wedding I started gaining weight. Someone made a comment to me that made me realize maybe I should find a Dr. out here in Jersey. Dr. Strom was highly recommended. Went to see him and turns out my band went onto my esophagus. Ended up having the band removed and on Sept 3rd had the sleeve done. At first my experience was Horrible.. I had a terrible reaction to the anastesia( can't spell) and the morphine so for the first two days I was constantly gagging. (Not fun) After staying an extra day in the hospital I was finally able to go home and relax on my own couch. Thank goodness my roommate in the hospital was so nice with all my hacking! I am not 3 weeks out and 20 lbs down. I am still getting pains from the incisions but I read that is normal. I am also still getting nauseous but I also read that for the first few months that is normal. Thank goodness it comes and goes. For the first time on Friday I also experienced heartburn. That was NOT fun. I am hoping that by finding this group I will be able to ask questions if I have any inbetween support group times. Looking forward to talking to everyone

    Getting sleeved 9/30 Keesler AFB

You're going to do fine. I was extremely nervous as well. I was sleeved on Sept 3rd. The worst part after the surgery for me was my reaction to the anestesia (can't spell, sorry!) haha They talk about how they give you a pump for pain meds but unforuntately that made me nauseous as well so I couldn't use it. Just make sure to walk as much as possible!! Good Luck!
