does it have that disgusting protein taste? Someone suggested the think thin peanut butter bar to me and I took one bite and spit it right out lol!

Actually it has more of an apple pie taste than the protein. The texture I don't know if you will like it. Have you ever eaten a powerbar? If so, it is like that only much much softer. You can always buy one at your grocery store and try it out.
