That's great! Sounds like you are starting to finally adjust a little more than before! Ironically, Panera was my first dine post op and I had the broccoli cheddar soup ... I felt human again so I can totally relate to your post! Keep up the great work, the results are amazing!

Thank you @newmetwenty15, it was nice to sit in public and try to have a normal moment with siblings/friends and food at the same time. Even though I had to go with my own pace, it was such an accomplishment!

  5. Red meat is very harsh on the stomach and takes forever to process. If you are having trouble, you may want to push that back a fews weeks. You kind of want to make it easy for your tummy and esophagus to heal. It takes 6-8 weeks for the swelling to go down.

    Post op diet and amount

I am 4wks post and i had 6 med shrimps chopped up and went down ok. Took forever, a good hour? I went out to dinner to panera and got small cup of turkey chili. Ate half and sat well. That took an hour also.
  8. Your stomach is a newborn. Think carefully what you pureed. Didn't they tell you no red meat for now? Protein only? I have a document in my blog that can help

    No appetite post op

Yes it is normal. Your esophagus and tummy is swollen. Just keep sipping water, liquids. Hydration is most important right now.

    Surgery on Monday!

@@Jazmundo Hi there, welcome! I am 4 wks post op. Get ready for one hell of a journey to pure happiness. I have a document that I have shared with several people that I think it is very useful. I got it from my surgeon and dietician at the hospital. You can download the pdf file and check it out. Even includes shake recipes. God knows you will be doing a lot of that for a while. The link is down blelow. While on pre-op remember to drink lots of water to flush out the chemicals your body is producing while it is burning fat. If not, you will get dizzy and headaches. http://www.bariatricpal.com/blog/9892/entry-33688-gastric-sleeve-documents-interesting-info-and-recipes/
  13. Yeah, that is normal. It will go away in a couple of days. When your gas finally leaves ( A couple of big farts or burps, not kidding) you will feel much better. The issue with liquids is normal. Your esophagus is the size of a pencil right now due to all the swelling. So it will be hard but keep sipping. You may even burp like or feel like burping like a trucker. lol But not to worry, it will get better. I went through the exact same thing and thoughts. We all have them. I am on my 4th week and okay with liquids now, but struggling with solids. Takes 6-8 wks for the swelling to go down. So hang on tight and find some patience. It won't always be like that. This is the hump we all go over. P.S. Don't trust a fart.

Has weight loss/surgery turned me crazy?

John's Wort? lol I don't know, but hang on. It gets better. I was like that 2 weeks into the surgery. I am on my 4th week and my spirits are much better. It all revolves around food. Whether you can eat ir or not.

  21. @@counrtygirl That's funny. I actually find myself cooking more. It is like, I am eating through my boyfriend's dinner. lol I actually get all stupid fancy with dinner now, even though I can only eat about 6 shrimps.
  22. I am entering 4 wks. I just ate 6 medium size shrimps cut very small and I am very full.
  23. I get a weird feeling in my stomach that makes me look down at what I am eating and instantly push away the plate. I know then I am done. I also remind myself I can finish it in about 2-3 hours. When you over do it, you will know. You will feel pressure towards the bottom of your esophagus as if all didn't go down and it is sitting there. Not painful but uncomfortable feeling. You don't want to get to that point.
  24. Quest Bar- Choc chip cookie dough is awesome. Not to sweet.
