I am 12 days post op. I feel okay. No pain , incisions a little itchy cause they are healing. Like everyone says, sip liquids as much as you can. Hydrate. The only issue I am having is, my tastebuds changed so much that nothing is appealing to me. I hope that goes away.

@@MiaStacey those people diet for a few weeks. We kind of "diet" for the rest of our lives. In one way or another. -
Less than 2 weeks until the big day!

Water! drinks lots of it. My nut said when you go into ketosis, body is getting rid of all bad chemicals and its in your blood stream. Drink lots of Water to flush that out of your body. The headaches is a signal not of hunger (have Protein shakes) but of crap flowing in your blood. I promise headaches will subside when you drink a glass or two of water when you have a headache. Happened to me, i suffer from migraines and havent had one. ???? Via mobile -

And not to forget, how her husband was enabling her by bringing her fast food. And in the hospital of all places!! It may be a reality show, but unlike other reality shows, this one teaches us the life of a morbidly obese person, the struggle and it inspires us to do out best. In no way they are making fun of fat people. As any other business the topic is a money maker for Hollywood but i think we can gain some education and realization from it. I am happy the show exists. -
LOL!

In my post op room and struggling bad

Lortab is what they gave me for pain when they took my toy away (pain pump, i loved that thing...lol) Lortab helped with pain and knocks you out, gives you a good nap. The IV for me made me Pee every 2 hours on the DOT. It was irritating, because I had to ask for help since they had all kinds of wires attached to me including the stupid things on the legs that help you with circulation. I felt like a puppet with so many cords . Once they unhooked me, I just need a hand to get up (they should have put the bed higher, that would have helped). Then I would drive my IV stick on wheels to the bathroom with me. Of course I was hunched over walking cause everytime I stretched to straighten up the muscles in my stomach hurt. When I was done peeing, since I was up, I took that opportunity to take a very slow stroll down the hallway because it does help with gas. I swear, I looked like the huntchback of notra dame just shuffling my feet, pushing my IV stick on wheels and my hair sticking up in different directions like Medusa. (what a sight!) But you know, I did not give one F*&&&%$, I was going to do what it takes to get discharged. There is nothing better than to feel like shit in the privacy of your own home and have your comfort. Then you can really start on your recovery. The nurse even told me to behave. lol But that is a whole different discussion. I am not the nicest patient when they take to long to respond to me. -
GIRL, you just don't know! That was my first lesson on my first day back from the hospital. I was like WTF is this? LOL

Stretching your Sleeve?

Too much food stretches the stomach. Why eat fast? Enjoy and savor every bite. -
Plenty of recipes out there for them. You can add it to pudding, soups, etc. Heck before this surgery i used to make power cookies with them. Wheat or coconut flour, spenda or raw sugar, almonds, peanut butter, oatmeal and chias. At work, people loved them.

I Don't know what to tell you because it sure seems that every surgeon is different. Look at me, When I was discharged, next day I was told to go on pureed food. I can tell you this, because your tummy will be swollen, it won't want a whole of things and if it does want anything it will be very little. At the end of the day, you can TRY to follow the diet regimen they give you, but don't push it. If your tummy doesn't want it, it is not ready. A good example is, I can have finely chopped chicken as long as it is super moist. I tried. My stomach wanted to part of it. Came back up quickly. So I am sticking to Protein shakes and broth until I feel my stomach is a little better. Doctors are there to guide, but your organs will tell you how they feel. Takes time to heal. Just make sure to hydrate and drink Liquid Protein of sorts so you don't get mal nourished.

Try your best not to eat anything inside Disney. It is all expensive crap food. Sorry, I am a true 100% Floridian. Take plenty of snacks (protein bars) and water bottles. You will thank me later. -

I threw up twice today, i am 9 day post op -
With the pre op diet, i suffered many headaches. I normally suffer from Migraines. But I emailed my NUT and she said to make sure to drink lots of Water. When your body is in ketosis, it is releasing all the nasty chemicals (like cleansing) into your bloodstream So if you drink lots of water, it will help to flush it out before you get headaches. Also if you get a headache, grab a glass of water and chuck it down....it will help eventually. Got me through it.

Today is my 9th day and I am really struggling. I tried to have my Protein shake in the morning and I should have divided it in two servings. Instead I drank it and tried to finish it as if I had a normal stomach. In my head I guess, i said to myself, it is liquid....it will empty out soon. Well, those last few sips were the death of me. I felt naseaus and low and behold, I threw up. Several times. So now, my tummy hurts from the force it had to do to throw up. So now I just want liquid, Water, barely anyway. It has been a rough day today. Not to mention, this pureed stage is gross to me. I don't like seeing or tasting anything pureed. It either looks like barf or cat food to me. My mind is going nuts. I have no idea how in the world I am going to adjust to this new life. Like I said, today is not one of my better days.
