Anyone have regrets?
Pac-woman replied to crissylynn82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having one of those days today. I am so irritated that I can't eat a normal meal. (only small). I can't swallow shit. (liquid is easy). It sucks to cook for my boyfriend to make sure he eats because he still has a stomach. And as I prepare things, I say, why I can't I have a little bit of this and that? You know what really did it? I was preparing him a salad and putting croutons. I said, one crouton won't hurt. Well, I sit here regretting the stinking crouton because it feels like it is stuck. God knows I chewed that sucker until it was nothing, but still. I am just having a bad day I guess. -
I did add milk. My stomach is just not cooperating. I guess I am two extremes. Either I eat too much and got me to where I am today, or I go on jaw lock down. I see my surgeon on Wed. I am going to ask if there is anyway to open the stricture. I never heard of that but my boss suggested it. Either that, or it means I am still swollen inside. My soup has shredded chicken in it and after two spoons I have to stop because it seems that it is not going down as it should.

Yeah, I have tried scrambled egg (notice it is not a plural, lol). I tried with cheese and my stomach was not having it. Tried with ham, nope...not doing it. I did a plain old egg, and it went down after years passed by. (wink).

I am 13-14 days post op? I don't have hunger, but I do eat with my eyes. When I go to the grocery store, you see me looking at everything as if I was a homeless person who has not eaten for years. Sadly, can't have it and the damn thing won't fit anyway. I am going through a rough stage that is pureed. Frankly, everything pureed looks like vomit to me. So I am sticking to the shakes which i am SO TIRED of and chicken Soup. I am going to come out clucking soon. I want to eat solid things, but when I try, feels like it gets stuck and I chuck it up. Wed is my follow up, I am going to ask about opening up the stricture a little? If possible. Feeling dizzy and weak and I am not getting in what I should.

sleeve and food addiction
Pac-woman replied to bigirleurope's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think what is making you doubt the surgery is because of all the negative feedback you are getting from your people. The food additiction I can honestly say we ALL had it. That is what drove us to the brink of doing major surgery to forcefully eat healthy. I am 13 days post. I will be honest here. Day 2 post your surgery you will think " what the hell did I get myself into??" . Trust me when I say the majority of us has had that thought. I know I did. But as everyone says and there is truth to it, it gets better by the day. Will you have a food addiction after surgery? Mentally, it may be there. But your stomach will not let you. Trust me. Soon you will find yourself fantasizing on your old "food favorites". I personally call that food porn.lol I still do it, but what? I know I can't have it. Your sleeve will have nothing to do with it. Why? Because you won't feel hungry. You will be so busy nursing and taking care of your sleeve that I don't think you will have the time to obsess over food. Remember, you are not the only one. We all had addictions of sorts. One of my comfort foods were large McDonalds fries with a chocolate sundae. I will eat them together for the sweet and sour effect. I could eat a whole pizza by myself easy. But when you get your sleeve, honey your taste buds WILL change. You will feel like a pregnant woman tasting things that you used to like and feel disgusted. Even perfumes will smell different. (It did for me, lol). Try to keep the negative people at bay and go on if addiction is your only worry. You will be okay. And your boyfriend, when he sees you loosing weight cause they "amputated" your tummy......he will have second thoughts. You will go on with your sexy self. At that time, you can smile and say "bite me" ( And maybe he will) xoxo -
This is hilarious. Really? The question about anal sex offended you? Why? The person who actually asked that probably really wanted to know whats up with that. Yes, that person probably knew that question will capture attention and it did. But I actually find this humorous not offensive. Believe it or not, it is an action that takes place for some people and hey, they were worried about their sleeve with a little back action. LOL Anyway, yeah, if it offends you...don't look at it and move on. Easy peasy.

Insomia! And I discovered I no longer care for wonton soup! ugh

@@cruummbs lol oh I am not being "sensitive". I was just saying. At the end of the day, I worry about me and my success. Not going to focus on the unsuccessful stories of other people. Best of luck to ya!!
-
not to be mean, I hope this discussion stays blank. Because that would mean that there were no unsuccessful stories. Bottom line, it is up to the person if they want the surgery to be successful or not.

Healing....and am I paranoid?
Pac-woman replied to shizwiz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@shizwiz YOU GOT THIS!!! -
Grab one of your "fat pants" and hang it up somewhere. Ask yourself, do you want to be in those again? Or better yet, get an old picture and remember how you felt in that picture.

Healing....and am I paranoid?
Pac-woman replied to shizwiz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there! No worries. First, measure you food. Even if it means eating out of a measuring cup until you get the hang of it. When you eat, since you have to eat slowly, pay attention to what is going on. Did it go down okay? Is it stuck in your esophogas? Your stomach will make funny noises and you can tell it is receiving the food. Believe me when I tell you, you will know when to stop. One second your eating the next second your going to look at your utensil and say, ugh. Enough. The worries about stretching your stomach is premature. I think that comes later on, when we have adapted how to eat, we know what we can eat and what we can get away with. But if you keep measuring your food and sticking to the right amount and the right foods, you should have no issues. I believe out of surgery the space in your tummy is 1-2 ounces. Then it increases to 3-4 ounces. I believe the max it will fit when your like 6 mths away is 1cup per sitting. Just to give you an idea. -
Friendships and Gastric bypass surgery
Pac-woman replied to leag78's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
@@leag78 Nothing wrong with having skinny friends. As long as their personalities has a balance and not just so vain. I have a skinny friend who is a gym rat. She is so happy for me. My sister is skinny, she disagreed with the surgery. But now that it is done, she is going to try to support me in anything I need, a shoulder to cry on, entertainment while I am recouping, listening to her calorie restriction worries, but she is there for me. I think what we need to be alert or concerned with is people (in general) who are ill willed and will be jealous but will reflect it in a negative fashion. Big, or skinny, short or tall. You said that if this was a movie, she would be the star and your the sidekick. Well my friend, time to get a new star and have her be the sidekick for once. After all, this journey is your blockbuster movie now! -
It is going to be so hard to go out to dinner with people again. For example, my BF parents come down from where they live and we gather to have wings. Like 6 of us. What the heck am I going to do then? lol [[excuse me while I shake my Protein shake and sip it out of a thimbal]] ugh. lol

Lower Calorie Calcium option
Pac-woman replied to mon_jam74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you do Protein shakes and use Milk, and have it twice a day, that should do the trick. It will certainly boost your calcium. -
