    Shoulder pain

Just let your body do what it knows to do... digest food with natural flatulence episodes to release excessive air. Just let it out naturally! :-P
  2. I'm thinking maybe a manicure, pedicure, AND a relaxing massage... total spa experience. :-)
  3. That's an awesome reward!! Love it! Enjoy your [new] self to the absolute fullest! :-)

    Shoulder pain

I was told not to take meds like gas x bc it keeps the gas from being expelled... try just letting the gas come out naturally. It has worked well for me. Best of luck!
  5. As we embark on a new lifestyle, what kinds of goals has everyone put in place? How do you plan on celebrating the accomplishment of those goals? I'm trying to come up with ways to reward myself when reaching my goals for 50 lbs, 75 lbs, 100 lbs, and total Weightloss goals reached. I wanna hear from everyone! Lol. :-)
  6. 1 week post op today....and officially lost 20 lbs!! Had first follow-up earlier and am able to start on stage 2. No problems so far...feel amazing!! So full of energy and no pain. Hope everyone else is feeling just as great! :-)
  7. I'm 1 week post op today, and for me, the pain was the worst for the first 4 days. Just keep in mind that it does get better! Be sure to take lip balm and sugar free throat lozenges or throat spray....your mouth will be dry for a few days. Hope this helps. Best of luck to you!
  8. I'm 1 week post-op today and am not experiencing any of that. I have lost 20 lbs. My urine is pale yellow. No problems laying down. I feel amazing!! Still on full liquids though :- I would suggest contacting your doctor. Sounds like you are extremely dehydrated and possibly have a blood clot. Definitely seek medical attention!! Best of luck! Keep us posted.

    Surgery Tomorrow

I had those exact same thoughts the day after my surgery! I'm now 5 days post-op and feel amazing... minus the left side muscle pain. It gets so much better each day... trust that and remain positive! :-)
  10. And I have not pooped since before my surgery. I'm still on clear liquid diet so I am urinating just fine, but it kind of freaks me out that nothing is coming out the other end. (Sorry, potty talk :- ) Has anyone else noticed this? Is it normal to not have a stool movement for such a long time? Thanks!

Good luck! Take it 1 day at a time and you will be just fine! :-)

when you were 4 days post op

I am 4 days post-op today and there is no way I would be considering going to a wedding! The focus has to be on your health and nothing more. Rescheduling surgery would be the best thing, as you don't need the extra stress during the first phase of post-op. Hope this helps!
  13. I was sleeved on the 18th (4 days post-op today). Had an enlarged liver and spleen which meant I needed a blood transfusion during my surgery. In the OR for 4 1/2 hours. Spent that night clucking away at the morphine button with very little help in easing the discomfort. Had a catheter put in as well. Stayed in the hospital until Saturday morning and was on IV fluids entire time. I'm home now with very little discomfort. I am able to walk about 500 feet before needing to rest. Sleeping is okay...I am able to lie down flat without much discomfort. Taking Tylenol for pain management. Having no problems with fluids. Was told by Dr. to stay away from any meds to relieve gas, so gas pains come and go naturally. First post-op is this Thursday :-)

    Surgery Tomorrow

Good luck! I'm 3 days post-op and the majority of my pain is in my throat from being under general anesthesia.

3 days post-op and severe left side pain

I'm also 3 days post-op and have some dull aching pains on my left side. My doc said its gas for me, but if it's severe please call your doctor.
