Typically speaking you seem to be going through the official grieving process, maybe just a little more enhanced. Here's some thoughts or ideas to try; 1) ask your boyfriend for more support and not to eat Pizza Hut or trigger foods in front of you. 2) take a walk or plan an activity when he is having dinner. 3) seek counselling or look for local support groups (or just pretend your an alcoholic and go to an AA meeting for support- lol) joke 4) think of the reasons that you decided to do such a drastic change, health, think about your goals, personal and scale. 5) find some guided meditation on the Internet and listen to that. Ground yourself. Now I say this and I'm 2 days away from surgery so I can't fully relate. Perhaps next week I'll be posting the same but I know I'd love it if someone was telling me that it is normal. Tell that boyfriend of yours to be more supportive!! Lol Take it easy and keep me informed! Shelly

I make my partner breathe on me especially after something garlicky! And I love how non surg people woukd ask me kindly to seeking psychiatric evaluation and you guys are taking notes cause its a good idea. God I love this site

Freg, it's true! I should be careful but I'm equally excited to see what shoes I've been wearing all these years! Lol

I agree. There seems to be so much variation to the rules and requirements to each state or country or even surgeon from the same area. I've been on my liver shrinking thing for 3 weeks and I've had some slips, my farewells in between shakes.. I would just be so mad if they closed me back up knowing the next surgeon wouldn't think twice about doing it.

Thanks Bella, I was supposed to start practicing to sip water etc.. But I'm a gulper by nature. I'm sure I'll be ok though.. I'll be very aware and basically my job for the next 4 weeks is to be mindful and go by the book. Thanks for the advice. Shelly

Well, it could cause munchies.. That could be dangerous. But overall I think it's pretty harmless. You are also pretty vulnerable to pneumonia and pulmonary embolisms post surgery, so be careful if you already have leavened lungs. How far post op are you? Are you a cig smoker too?

Two more sleeps for this chick.. Does it hurt to drink fluids afterwards? You're only able to sip for the longest time right? Is this because of the potential of tearing or hurting the pouch or because you physically cannot?

I'm in this huge nesting phase too.. All cleaned, ready to go. My surgery is on Wednesday the 5th. So ready but so nervous. Gotta go buy broth and some more jello but other than that, lets get this done! Anyone having their last meal? I think tomorrow morning may be cutting it close for a final breakfast? What ta think?
