    Stress and NOT eating

    If you want to stall weight loss then keep starving your body. It will go into a defensive survival mode. Discipline yourself to eat your protein and drink your water. I would avoid the coffee for now. Coffee should be an occasional treat.

    Just a guess but it sounds like you may not be drinking enough water. Many of the symptoms you are describing can potentially be a result poor hydration.

    I'm with you. I told the dietician I'm an expert on Atkins/south beach. She said you already know what to do then. Just like others have stated, I would limit the milk though it is a good source of protein. Try unsweetened almond milk too...it's great.
  4. My 2 cents are...make sure you are getting your water as already suggested. Also if you are following the program and eating your protein there is room for little else so no real need to count calories. Try light and fit Greek yogurt too. It has a minimum amount of fruit but a good amount of protein. Sometimes I splurge and put a little whip cream on it, making it a fruit desert like treat. It's low in carbs, calories, and high in protein. Hope this helps.

    Uhhh 7wks post op!

    You are doing great. You always weigh more at the doctor because of clothes and what you have eaten and drank during the day. Their starting weight should have been higher than your home weight anyway. I use my own morning weigh ins to count my pounds lost. Keep up the good work!
  6. I believe those that do this are not trying to be malicious. They believe the have something in common with you at some level. It sounds like she has had a good experience and wants to share. I would just tell her thanks, but you have a plan you are focused on right now and that you will keep it in the mind for the future.

    I hope your imagination is just getting the best of you. You are doing fine in your weight loss. It might be in your best interest to revisit the psychologist you visited pre-op. On my pre-op visit Mine told me the things you are describing happens sometime. Don't let jealousy get you down...it's a powerful and potentially destructive emotion. Best wishes!
  8. Don't worry! Your doctor will tell you what to do including adding higher carb items. A coworker was told by his surgeon he could add these high carb items because he was almost out of fat reserves.

    Bariatric Vitamins and Nausea

    GNC has a new chewable Men's vitamin. It is fruity and moist, not a dry chalky chewable. Also I found a chewable vitamin D/calcium supplement at BJ's that tastes like a Tootsie roll. It's called Viactiv. Here is a pic of them. Hope this helps..

    Hungry a lot of the day

    My experience is that it is definitely head hunger. When you get back to regular food you will quickly notice the food is not as good as you imagine. If you are like me you will have an aversion to food for a while once you are able to actually eat it. My tastes changed significantly. Steak was my favorite, now I could care less if I ever eat it again. Strangely my favorite meat is ham now. I also changed my preference from white meat chicken to dark meat chicken. Weird but I'm not complaining.

    I agree with several posters. Don't worry about it and keep doing what you are supposed to. It is probably all liquid weight. I bet there is a major weight drop in your near future.

    How to deal with fat friends

    One thing about my one fat friend...he has been given some very nice clothes that are too big for me. I wore nice clothes too...primarily Polo. He appreciates it too. Haha. To clarify none of my good friends are fat so it's a work friend that is reaping the benefits. I'm having to wear the cheap stuff now until I get to my goal size. No more big and tall in my future. Woot woot!

    Easy Meal Find

    I found a great, easy protein meal at the super market. I have attached a picture. It's by Oscar Mayer and they are called P3. It has three pockets. One each for a meat, cheese, and nuts. They range from 170 to 180 calories depending on the meat/cheese/nuts that are included.. They offer 13g of protein. It fills my smaller stomach. They are located in the deli meat section. They were around $3.50 each. They are very convenient/easy.

    The cheese is cheese chunks doesn't seem processed. The meat may be processed but they are chunks, not deli slices. I didn't read the ingredients.

    It took less than a week for me to start sleeping on my side. It was limited and phased in.

    If you are far enough along you can use pork rinds. The give you crunch and texture without carbs.

    Winter has HIT

    Winter...I have noticed I'm more sensitive to cold now. Losing the natural insulation is my guess. I used to keep the home between 66 & 68. Now it's between 70 & 72. That is even feeling cool to me.
