Hi all, never thought id do this but I guess I need the extra motivation. I have always been a big as a kid and nothing changed as i got older. While I was playing sport (rugby league) i did manage to get fit and lose few kilos but never enough to feel good about myself. But now its got to a point where I hate what I've become and I want to change my body for my health and for my appearance. I am currently 155kg and look like this Pay me out all yhou want, I've become a fat slob I have recently had a lap band operation on 29th October 07 and i lost 10kg in my first two months after the operation, but i still need to eat healthy and excercise right which i need all the motivation i can get! This is my garage converted to gym, includes an excerise bike, total gym, boxing bag, and bench with bar and dumb bells. My goal is to be fit and healthy and be able to play and be good at rugby league again!

those bands are a gimmick IMO. best just to save up to get some dumbbells if your serious about wanting to do weight training. besides that you could start doing general body weight exercises like, push ups, dips, squats, lunges, pull ups, most ab work
-
I find if I spend 30min on my exercise bike before work, I'm more alert during the day and feel better. And of course it burns off the calories. And if you can't spare 30mins a day on your health then maybe you have your priorities wrong

Good tricep exercises include, Dips, Dumbbell Tricep Extension, Skull Crushers (don't be intimidated by the name) and Kick backs.

a good trick with the greek yoghurt is to mix fruit into it to give it some flavour
-
i add it to salad for and make that a meal.

Pics taken today, can anyone else see a difference?

toning is a myth IMO. you either build muscle or you don't and higher weight with less reps i find to be better to build muscle. i would start of with 3 times a week then when you get your muscles to the size you want, cut back a bit.

Any exercise is better than none and as long as you are enjoying it and not over exhausting yourself then i don't see that there would be a problem. if you are really worried break it up into blocks of 30minutes or maybe try HIIT, I'm almost positive you won't be able to do 150minutes if you are doing Interval Training

Isaac 22 from Sunshine Coast Australia. banded for a year. Am working night shift so I'm finding it extremely difficult to meet new people and especially someone who would be interested in me -
Congrats, the next week or so will make you wonder why you done it but when you start seeing results it wil all be worth it. Good luck

I thought I was imagining things, but I too think that people who have always been skinny never get weight loss and how hard it can be. Luck for me I have a really supportive family and one of my best mates who has lost a lot of weight so know what its like.

I am currently a Night Auditor at a Resort

I got a pair of long leg SKINS. I wear them under my normal work out gear whenever I play sport or exercise. The feel great, prevent chafing and my legs don't get as much of the lactic acid jelly feeling after workouts

Long time no see. I had a check up and fill a few days ago. so far after 12 months and including a 2 month period of shameful falling off the wagon. I have officially lost 27kgs (60lbs). would love to lose another 5-10 by christmas. I am well and truly motivated now.

Not sure if I have posted in here but I am from Sunshine Coast, Australia

Love life is probably worse for me post band, probably cause i spend most of my day at work or at the gym and don't get much time to meet people. Meeting another bandster would be awesome though, someone who knows what it's like

Why were YOU overweight?
blocka replied to Losing_It_In_Texas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was always fairly big however I liked to play sport, anyway long story short, It seemed I thought I was bigger than I actually was and was embarrassed to go to training for my team sport because everyone was laughing at me always being last when doing laps of the field etc. Once I stopped training I gained more and more weight until I finally woke up to myself. and I beat the issue of being embarrassed by setting up my garage as a gym so now I don't have any excuse to not train. -
I got done by Dr Baxter, excellent doctor. Highly recommend him and his team
