You look amazing! -
Don't stress about that! I had gained 10lbs of the 17lbs I had lost preop in the hospital. It all fell right off. It will start coming off again, just be patient. and I agree, so frustrating!

Monumental day 100lbs lost!
Riz2006 replied to onthefencejenny's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm 3. 1/2 months out. That feeling passes as you feel better and better as they days pass. Every time you put on an old shirt or pants and they are super loose you will have even more motivation. Thank you. This week has been so much better! I put an old pair of pants on that we're really snug and I put them on last week and they ended up fitting great. Down 35lbs total. -
A few things from my list are eggs (moist), cottage cheese, mashed banana (only fresh fruit I can have), canned no sugar peaches, pears, fruit cocktail, cooked veggies mashed (green beans), mashed potatoes, thin slices turkey or chicken deli meat, canned chicken, tuna, egg salad, ham salad, chicken salad, refried Beans, fish(Blah), boiled lean meat chopped with broth, crockpot chicken (as long as it's moist). There is more on my list. I tried taking a pic of my list but couldn't get it to work. I'm currently eating my first solid food (softly scrambled eggs) in 4 weeks. So good!

I know every program is different so this is just out of curiosity.... I have 4 stages - 1. Clear liquid - days 1-2 2. Full liquid - (shakes, yogurt, cream Soups, applesauce, pudding, jello) - days 2-14 3. Purée/soft foods (egg salad, chicken salad, cottage cheese, turkey deli meet, mashed banana, etc -just a few items on my list from NUT) - days 14-60 4. Normal" foods/Maintenance diet - Day 60+ Anyone else have the purée and soft stage together? How many stages do you have?
-
I'm terrified of it being heavier! I already have very heavy periods to begin with. Although my period started day before surgery and it was actually really light (compared to normal) which surprised me bc of all the meds!
-
Me too! Yes! One of my dreams was that I took a bite of my kids turkey sandwich and I freaked out! Ha!

What are your food stages?
Riz2006 replied to Riz2006's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't wait for some refried bean! Yum! Also I'm not a fish eater (can't stand it) but that is allowed on my soft/purée stage so I'm thinking of trying it again-maybe I will like it now. Problem is I have zero clue where to buy, what to buy, how to cook it! Off to google some ideas! -
Stomach Sleepers-How soon after surgery could you sleep on your stomach?
Riz2006 replied to TREVORSMOM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Slept on my side in the hospital and when I got home (wedged a pillow under my back and belly). About 9 days post op I woke up on my stomach and was a tad sore. Last night (2 weeks post op today) I layed on my belly just fine. -
Did your "sips" get bigger a week out?
Riz2006 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remember first couple days I could only sip... now 10 days out I feel like I can take almost a "normal" drink. Anyone else? -

Just want to share! I hit the 30lbs loss today! I am 10 days post op. 17lbs in preop diet and 13lbs since surgery! I see surgeon and NUT next Thursday for my 2 week post op and then will be able to start purée/soft foods! Egg salad, chicken salad, crockpot lemon pepper chicken is all on the approved sheet! I really can't wait! I'm really over the Protein shakes and soups!

Hmm.... Week 1 weight loss, or not.
Riz2006 replied to OldMomOf3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had lost 17lbs preop.... Got home from hospital and had put 12 of them back on. It took a few days but then they all came off plus some. I'm now officially down 30lbs (17lbs preop and 13lbs since surgery). I am 10 days post op. Hang in there, it will come off. -
I'm 9 days post op and my back is hurting bad! Especially lower back!
-
Surgery was 3/10 and this just started today. Very sore when I move! Feels like I did abdominal exercises!

I had eggs at 2 weeks post op. I was allowed eggs once I hit purees. I made them really soft, almost custard like. I added a tiny bit of greek yogurt and some shredded cheese and cooked them really slow, constantly stirring. They were divine! it took me an hour to eat them, but man was I happy not to be having a liquid meal. This sounds so good!
-
I'm 1 week post op and can start eggs next week! I.can.not.wait! They sound so divine right now!

Have you ever been in the size you are in now (in your adult life). Like if you are a size 8, were you ever an 8 as an adult? Make sense?

My pack was starting to hurt 4 days out. My surgeon allowed me to.

I love the Donovan Creed series by John Locke!

How hard was it to take care of your kids after?
Riz2006 replied to CamberAshley's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a 23 month old, 5yo and 7yo. I came home on a Thursday night. My husband took my 23 month old to the sitter on Friday. Hubby was home on weekend to help. Really at that mount my only problem was lifting my toddler to and from crib and down stairs. The following week I was taking kids to school and i had my 7 yo lift my toddler from crib. It's doable. -
One week out today. (Also my anxiety is very high right now so I think that's part of it. I feel every little twinge or pain and I start freaking a little).

Surgery is tomorrow... And of course I start my period today! Gah! I asked my Dr at my 2 week pre op bc I was afraid this would happen. He said surgery will go on and it's not uncommon for women to start because of the nerves/etc. I'm just nervous because my periods are pretty heavy and I want to be able to get up to clean up/change pads/etc. Anyone else been in this boat?
