working out and not losing weight
Essence46 replied to trulyamazingtoo's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I agree with the other commenters. This has been my struggle so I definitely understand. You aren't eating enough calories so your body is holding on to everything for dear life. LOL! Plus you are only 10 weeks out which is still early. I would suggest eating something every two hours. Yogurt. Fruit. Protein bars. Nuts. Jerky. Boiled eggs. Veggies. I know it is hard while still trying to get in your Water though. Good luck. -
@@nikkygal the struggle is real. LOL!!

I have had 3 deviled eggs, two protein bars, a protein shake, two bottles of water and some peanut butter on a spoon. My body is like "forget all that crap!! I am hungry!! Feed me! I need food. Real food". LOL!! I want some french fries (6 or 7) will do and a bite of a burger. Just a bite. That's all I need. I guess I will eat my kale and some pretzel instead.

I am 10 months out and have only loss 5 pounds in the last couple of months (60 total). I have loss quite a few inches though but only 5 pounds. I work out 5 days a week, twice a day two times a week. I eat my protein bars and shakes, drink a decent amount of water every day so what the heck!!! I can tell the difference in my body over the last few months but the scale doesn’t show it. I am trying not to get frustrated and discouraged but it’s hard. I keep telling myself to keep pushing forward… that I feel great and look great but Ugh!

Low Blood Pressure/Dizziness
Essence46 replied to JamieLogical's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This happened to me right after surgery. The dizziness was caused by my bp meds. At first, my bp was way to high 190/120. Doc switched my bp meds then it was way too low 80/60 (or something crazy like that). After a couple of days trying to regulate it, doc pulled me off the bp meds and my bp finally stablized. Good luck to you. -
What is your TRUE weight loss goal?
Essence46 replied to LipstickLady's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I really needed to read this post and the comments because I have been so frustrated and discouraged lately. -
I just recently started running (twice a week at a very slow pace). For Breakfast, I eat 3 deviled eggs (3 halves) and a Protein bar. At one part during my run, I felt like I wanted to spit it all up. I didn't though but I could have. Do you eat anything before you run? Is it better to run on an empty stomach and eat something when done? Please advise. Thank you.

Found a new protein bar I like
Essence46 replied to Essence46's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I found them at TJ Max @@Lynn Hatcher. I purchased some Zone Protein bars from costco this weekend and they are actually pretty good too. -
I just had three miniature candy bars. I swear they were so good!!! I feel a little guilty though (just a little). LOL!! I remember a time when I would have eaten two full size candy bars at the same time. SMH!

At this point in my journey, I can eat anything I want and not get sick. It's all about choices. I chose the eat better and healthier 95% of the time. I do enjoy that 5% though.

Drinking and eating at same time video
Essence46 replied to Bbinder2002's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 10 months out and I still don't drink when eating. If I know I am going to eat something, I will stop drinking 20 or 30 minutes before. Drinking will fill me up too fast. Since I don't eat enough, I need all of the calories and nutrients I can get. -

LOL!! I am bad about keeping track of carbs. I do ok with tracking calories but I am not consistent with it. It stresses me out and I don't like to be stressed out. -
6-7months post op
Essence46 replied to Melissayw816's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a little shocked at how little (variety of food) you are eating at 6 to 7 months out. You definitely may want to talk to your NUT about introducing new foods. Good luck. -

@teemarie1078Total carb is 21g (7%). -
I agree alot with what you said @Bluesea71. I do like to indulge every once and a while. I want to be able to still enjoy some of the things I like like an occassional candy bar, adult beverage or a potato chip. LOL!! It is all about moderation. I figure I put in work at the gym 5 days a week, sometimes going twice a day, plus drinking and eating my Protein. I deserve to treat myself.

A moment (more like 40 minutes) of doubt and panic..
Essence46 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I spent the weekend going thru all of my closets and old clothes trying on stuff to see what I could still wear, what to give away, etc. I created a big pile of “giveaways”. They ranged from sizes 14 to 20. Once I was done, I started having doubts… “maybe I should keep this just in case” or “what if I gain the weight back”. Before I knew it, I had put about 75% of the "giveaways" back into the "keep" pile. So…I finally took a break, sat down and had a heart to heart with myself... ensuring myself that I would never go back to that old person… that this was a lifestyle change… that I was doing great, etc. Even tried on some of the “too big” stuff again to prove to myself that they didn’t fit. Finally, I put everything back in the “giveaway” pile and boxed them up and smiled. For a while there, I thought I had lost it!! The mind is a powerful thing. -

Anyone whose goal weight is less than 100 pounds?
Essence46 replied to Essence46's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@proudgrammy You are always so inspirational and you always make me smile. Thank you for that. -
I do cardio 5 times a week. (3 miles on eliptical or treadmill or both). Weights (which I hate with a passion) two times a week when I am up to it. Nothing fancy with the weights. I need to work on being more consistent and develop a weight training plan. I have found with working out everyday by Friday I am usually dead tired though.
