I just got my hair done yesterday and noticed how much hair I have loss. My hair is already thin and fragile. Any type of stress or body changes always affects my hair. I am going to start taking supplements. I am actually mad with myself for not doing it sooner.

I am almost 6 months out and I get hunger pains. I don't eat enough so I know that's why. I am working on this though. For years, I over ate and would tell myself "not eat so much" or to "stop eating so much". Now... I tell myself "you have to eat'. "You are not eating enough". Ugh! It's been an adjustment.

Heyyy, anybody in the Washington,DC area?
Essence46 replied to laurenella82's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Fatdiva14, my experience with Dr. Rickford has been amazing. I don't have any complaints or issues. Never had to wait long to him. Always got answers to any questions I had. We had a rough time stabilizing my blood pressure when I first came home from the hospital. His team were very responsive. My husband was in constant contact with his team after hours and over the weekend. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Good luck. -

Good morning. How is everyone feeling today?

I am doing pretty good today. The scale is not moving like I want it to but I feel good and I think I look good so.... forget the scale.

As I was walking down the hall at work at little while ago, one of my co-workders said "You are getting too small". I have never, ever in my life heard those words, as they apply to me, before. Even though I don't agree, I am still trying to process those words.....

I had my surgery at Providence Hospital. Dr. Marc Rickford was the surgeon. -
I had to step away from the scale because I was driving myself crazy. Seriously! I try to focus on the clothes now. I try to only get on it every few weeks.

Do you tell people you had Weight Loss Surgery?
Essence46 replied to nolongerhere's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Let me start by saying, you don't owe an explanation to anyone. No one at all. At first, I didn't tell anyone but my immediate family and a few close friends. 1) because I consider myself to be a very private person and 2) I didn't want to hear all of the negativity and everything that comes with it. Over the last few months, I have told more people depending on who they are. If someone comes right out and asks, I will tell them. I think a lot of people assume even if they don't ask. Losing 50, 60 or 70 pounds in a matter of a few months is a big indicator for a lot of people. Some just respect your choice enough not to ask. Not everyone though. When I do tell people my journey, I also tell them I made the decision to "save my life". That is pretty much my standard response. Good luck with whatever you decide. -

How My Family Eats Dinner
Essence46 replied to RiskyGirl21's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Have you considered making dinner time your family talk time. Cutting the tv off but talking about your day, upcoming events, school, work, etc. Eating with the tv on is a good distraction for me. It helps me to slow down and take my time. I usually take a bite, put my folk down and watch tv. Take another bite, put my folk down and watch tv.
