I am so worried that this cold will not be gone by next week. I have my pre-op scheduled for next Tuesday the 20th and surgery on the 28th, and I am afraid if I am still coughing like I am now that they will want to post pone my surgery. I went to my PCP yesterday and he did give me an antibiotic but said it probably will not help since he thinks it is just a cold virus. I have asthma so this is exaserbating it, and I am coughing like crazy! Any advise as to how to get rid of this cold faster?? Thanks!

Thank You!! I went back to the doctor yesterday because I could not breathe. Got a breathing treatment and he sent me home with prednisone so that did the trick! I feel about 80% better today and now feel that I will be better before my pre-op next week!. Thank you for letting me stress out on you!

January RNY Surgery
julia4mom replied to MBM1Forever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is scheduled on Jan 28th. It isn't quite real for me yet, I have an endo scheduled for the 9th, and then Pre-Op on the 20th, maybe it will get real then. I am excited, but nervous like all of you. Worried about failure. I am only taking two weeks off of work, I am an accountant, so tax/audit season starts at the end of January, so two weeks is all I can give but I can work from home if I need too. -

Hi Tinagatorfan79 I live in Panama City, FL and actually I come to Orlando for work a couple times a year (I work for Marriott Vacations). I would love to be your buddy. I am still in middle of the process too, My next apt is October 9th as well, but with the nutritionist. I have completed the check xray, ekg, ultrasound, and lots of blood tests and am waiting for a call back to schedule the endo. My cell # is 850-774-9308, I would love to have someone to discuss all the ups and downs with! But I will tell you, as I see by your user name that you are a Gator Fan, I am a Seminole fan -
Good Morning everyone! This is my first post, but I have been lurking for over a month, just reading and learning. I had my 1st appt with Dr. Lord on Sept 10th, have completed 2 months of the 3 month weight trial that my insurance requires, have had all the blood tests, ultrasound, and ekg done. I have my 2hr nutrition orientation and Psychology Evaluation on 10/9, and my nutrition evaluation on 10/25. Dr. Lord said that if everything goes smoothly, I should be scheduled for surgery in January 2015! I have notice that several people said that they had to lose weight to qualify, but I was told to just maintain and not to lose. My issues are not just my weight but my health. I am on three different blood pressure medications and it is still not controlled, as well as cholostorol medication. My primary care doctor has been great in helping me to make this decision and I am nervous but excited to be heading in the direction of better health. My daughter is getting married next October and I am looking forward to being around for my future grandchildren. I look forward to chatting with you all more during this journey!
