I eat half banana, I really want salad, or veggie, I'm craving for if. Don't know why? But I get the protein thing. I have surgery 2 months ago.

But natural Sugar from fruit should be ok! Aren't you guys eating any fruits at all?

I couldn't keep anything down, lots of pain until I finally vomit, my first endoscopy doc said I had a pin hole left for food and water to pass, so that's why I couldn't eat or drink without pain. Constant pain on my upper stomach referring to my back. They did ctscan and X-ray with liquid but they couldn't see the stricture, I had to insist to do an endoscopy and finally they see it then.

My doc hopes 2 times is enough, and I really hope too. The first 5 bites feels tight but then when I chew and swallow it get better. I'm still working on chew chew chew and wait between bites.

I have a stricture as well, my surgery day was 3/16. I had my second endoscopy with dilation last Thursday, I don't have an ulcer thank God!!! But it's been very hard, getting stronger because I'm trying more foods, mostly I still have to blend chicken and fish. Good luck to you! Dr said 2 dilatation should work, if not he talked about steroid shots, inside where the stricture is. But I hope I don't need that! Also he told me to eat so food keep stricture enlarged. Will see! I tough I was going crazy! But I did it!

Are you suppose to get up every 2 hrs to walk? That's what I did! I was tired but nurse woke me up and let me walk. There was a men in the next room very uncomfortable who was screaming and kicking all night! What you going to do? Nothing, get better and go home so you can rest.

@@nik I don't know! Never heard of it either so I hope 2 dilation are enough to solve the problem. I wonder what cause the scar tissue to grow more in some people then other.

They did the same thing with me and said the same thing, but there was a stricture. I would request an upper endoscopy if it continues.I did had a stricture, they did 2nd dilatation last Thursday. Doc said should work!!! Will see! What a pain! He talked about scar tissue??? I don't know what really causes, also he mention steroid shots if problem doesn't solve ???? Will see.

I had a second endoscopy, they dilate again because was going to close again. Dr said hopefully it works. If not he said we might have to consider steroid shots. I'll have to see how I'll do. My pretty tired, I have pain, I hope I can get to a normal life again. REGRET surgery big time

I have some kind of pain, I'm on my period and feel pain in my middle stomach cramps on my lower abdomen and lots of gas, feeling very uncomfortable I'm 2 ,moths post op. Did you find out what it is ?

I'm Italian and extra virgin olive oil is a staple in my kitchen. I add it to everything to soften my food. I use it instead of mayo or ranch etc. good calories.

Ask for an endoscopy, I finally did mine yesterday after 3 weeks no eating and very hard time drinking, I had a stricture, they enlarge it with a balloon during endoscopy.

I had an endoscopy today I had a stricture, dr enlarge with a balloon, biopsy. have to come back next Monday to do it again, to make sure it's large enough for food to get through ????

I had gallbladder removed in 2006 because gallstones. I went to doc today and he set up an endoscopy for Monday with the gastroenterologist. He told me I have to eat more calories, and suggest isopure, all day I could only tolerate 1/2 bottle. He said could be a restriction, an ulcer, or an hernia! I'll find out on Monday. So for now trying hard to get protein shake or isopure drink. Thank you for your responses

I'm going to the doctor tomorrow.I can only eat less then 1/4 cup mashed potatoes, or 1/4 cup of cous cous all day. About 3- 4 cups of warm Water. Today even with the mashed potatoes I felt a pain on my right side. I can't eat any Protein shake, protein pudding, or crunch bars. As soon as I try to chew something I start pain on the upper stomach, refer pain on my back, and fill so uncomfortable that I just give up. I'm 75 kg now, getting dizzy, start weight 105 kg on surgery day. So I lost 30 kg in 7 weeks. I don't think is very healthy. I hope and pray doc can help me tomorrow.

Thank you for all the responses, I'm worry for my health because I can't eat or drink without pain. And I'm fixated on those 60-80 gr protein a day. On week 3 I was able to get about 40-50 eating small amounts, small bites, long chewing tuna, salmon, tofu, Parmesan cheese, egg white, fat free refried beans, etc. since week 4 pain and vomiting. I'm hoping to get an answer from my surgeon, I need to rule out stricture. They did X-ray with liquid, ct scan, blood work etc couple weeks ago and said no stricture but I heard endoscopy is need it to really see.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I never understood what's my issue. I come from a very lovely family, I have a great husband and kids. I have no real major issues. But you are right I need to do some soul searching. I'm going to start therapist visits maybe I can finally come out of this fog. Thank you so much again!

They did X-ray and ctscan on me and said that there is not stricture, I think there is. The X-ray doctor said it's very tight! I'm going to try to convince the doctor to enlarge it, because at 7 weeks I Shiism be able to drink and eat a little without pain and vomit. Thank you for responding to me @@pik

I take omeprazole 40mg and carafate twice a day.

Also I think I'm having a food withdrawal, I cry for hrs today like if someone die. I'm homesick and usually I would be cooking and eating all my grandma and mom dishes just to smell my mother kitchen. My family is mile and miles away. Need to find another " addiction" soon. I'll meet with a therapist for the first time on Tuesday. I hope she can help me. How did you guys substitute food addiction?

I have the same problem, pain on my upper stomach until I finally push it out. I'm not even eating that much, I'm 7 weeks bypass.

@@pik how are you now? I been having similar problems, I'm now 7 weeks out I can't eat or drink without pain or vomiting.

I think something is too tight! They check with a ctscan, contrast X-ray etc, couple weeks ago and said all is well. The X-ray doctor told me there is no stricture but it's very tight in there. On Wednesday I'm going to see the doctor I'm going to ask if he can enlarge the passage or the pouch I honestly can't live this way.

I lost 50 lbs. for whatever reason I don't really care about weight lost I want to eat something. Even in a very small portion but I miss real food. Yesterday and today I only drinking water, vitamin water 0 and half of protein shake. My stomach still full of gas, pain and very hard to burp it.
