I'm wondering if someone with a lower bmi has less complications, has less complications? I started at 225-235 when I first went to the surgeon on May 1 2014 and now I'm 205, surgery day 3/16, bypass. I have severe sleep apnea.

Pain is real! Let them give you morphine it helps and walk, because gas pain doesn't go away with pain killers only walk and let it out. Hot packs and gas x strips. -

Surgery was good! Post op was painful, it's a major surgery, lots of gas pain. And the leak test X-rays was hard, but I think it's getting better, kept my liquid down today. And passing gas has been a great thing ( tmi ) also I have a very loose stool that looks like a baby first stool. -

foodfighter78 replied to dwwash's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I been on a liquid protein diet for 2 weeks and I didn't have any runny problems, maybe only 1 or 2 times. I hope my stomach is ready for Monday 3/16 surgery and I won't have any bm problem because I hate that feeling. -
Liquid in, liquid out : (
foodfighter78 replied to liannatx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe a liquid Imodium, If the doctor agree. -
I hope you have family around to help. My family is in Italy, but I have my husband who took 3 days off. I'm also didn't get any news back about my lab work, but surgeon nurse called me yesterday to ask me if I had any questions. And how my 2 weeks preop diet went. Also remind me to do the prep on Sunday only liquid and miralax. When the hospital called me I ask if I can bring kids and they said no, I guess kids can't visit. ??? But she said to ask the nurse on the floor of the day. I'm still confuse about that! Worry about if something goes wrong on the day, like the doctor get sick and can't come or they think I can't have surgery for what ever reason ....... My first stop will be in and out hahaa just kidding????????

I wanted to do the sleeve but my insurance only pay for bypass and band, so my choice is the bypass. We appeal about the insurance decision, and my surgeon speak with them, about the sleeve success etc. but insurance said that for them sleeve doesn't have long term success for them to pay, yet they pay for the band ????? Oh well. at the end I think bypass will be ok for me I do have lot of reflux and I heard that reflux can get worse with reflex. -
