    before, during & after

  2. Just 6 days to surgery, very excited and nervous!!! Had a 2 hour class yesterday covering what to expect in the hospital after surgery. Was very informative, and now I know whats gonna happen. Today I have my pre op appt with my surgeon, have a few questions i want to ask him, but all in all I think I am pretty well prepared for this journey.

      thankyou grammy,

I have done a lot of research online and I take notes and listen carefully. Doctor answered my last few questions today, so Im as prepared as Im ever gonna be lol. Dr did a quick exam of my tummy and we talked about my previous hernia surgery and how it will alter his initial entry point. He also told me I carry my weight in my body and like a man, I told him yeah I know, built just like my dad, big torso and thinner arms and legs and no damned ass lol

    Medicaid process

I am in Idaho and I have medicare and Medicaid. The insurance biller at Dr. Valentines office said that yes Medicaid requires a 6 month doctor supervised diet. But in my case because medicare is my primary insurance and only requires a 3 month diet and Medicaid follows their lead. What really surprised me was that the 3 months don't have to be consecutive. I was intending to have a gastric bypass a year ago, but I changed my mind. I went back to the same surgeon this month (sept 2014) and was told since I have already been seen twice on a diet I only need to diet one more month!! I was very, very pleased to hear this to say the least. I have to see the dietician on the 30th and then my surgery will be scheduled!!
