I just bought my first pair of size 16 pants

I know the feeling!!! On my surgery date I was a 22/24 sometimes 26/28 in shirts..... here I am... 6 weeks and a little over 25 lbs out... and I'm loving the fact that I can squeeze into a size that starts with a one! I didn't think I'd love being an 18 as much as I do....and people at work are starting to notice. Someone came over to me and said, wow, you are looking great. I was sooooooo happy, all day, smiling from ear to ear.

Game: What Color is Oprah Today?

By saying... "Come on, if you live in our society you KNOW what one means when they say someone is sounding white or black!" it implies that black people sound a certain way, and whites another. You can try to clean it up, but it is what it is. Right? When you assume correct grammar, diction, pronunication is attributed to a certain race of people --- instead of a particular social status/culture/education level, you're mistaken and subtly.....racist. It's not a suprise to me when a Black person carries themselves well, speaks eloquently, and is well-traveled, and diverse, because I haven't internalized idiodic stereotypes. I hear them, and I know I've chosen to make a decision about people, individually, for myself. When you make blanket statements..... more than likely, you'll probably be wrong.

I appreciate wisdom, honesty, humility, and compassion in a person.

Assuming MOST black people speak Ebonics is like assuming MOST Europeans speak Italian. You'll find proof to support your statement, but it really doesn't solidify your argument. There are people who are just ASTOUNDED about a black person who can understand/communicate using Ebonics and can also easily navigate their way through "Standard English", whenever they choose. Again, just because someone speaks several languages/dialects, it doesn't mean that they can't be, "ARTICULATE"-- a word I've learned to despise. See this article for more details as to why this very idea can be viewed as racist, and justifiably so. This idea of her being a chameleon-- is not only only a good thing -- but it's necessary for anyones sucess. Everyone knows what it takes to succeed, and if you don't shift your behavior/communication style with the audience, you're a fool. Prime example: I'm not going to enter a room full of spanish people and talk french. Furthermore, when you have such skills, people tend to describe that as being "fake", to me it's not. It's a skill. Her field is communication and low and behold--- she's a good communicator on many levels. I don't see it as an issue.

    Something is wrong with Christmas

no.... i guess it was more of me expounding on her/the true meaning of Christmas, ...beginning with her interpretation and ending with the truth as I see it... I get it that everyone thinks it's the greatest time of year, but the idea Christmas is just so wrong on so many levels.... it's sacreligious.

Actually I am a Christian, that doesn't celebrate Christmas But Thanks anyway .

    Something is wrong with Christmas

OK....gotta love this... So people don't have to believe in Jesus in order to celebrate his birthday (birthdays are a pagan ritual in and of itself--check out your bible, the only two people who every celebrate their birthday in the bible were pagans), which really never took place in December (Imagine a baby in zero degree weather, surviving overnight in a manger), because It's pagan holiday. And everyone's probably going to "hell" anyway for celebrating this pagan holiday, so Pagan or Christian---we may as well exchange lots of presents, run up our credit cards, curse out the dumb cashier in the store who doesn't ring things up fast enough, drink too much, and eat alot, and return all the "stupid" presents the next day.... all in the name of someone whom most don't believe exists... in a country in which evolution is taught as fact and where they want to remove the word God from the flag salute ........hmmm...makes perfect sense

Big Ol' Hairy Religion vs. Athiest Debate

I assume that atheist haven't read the bible, because even most people who claim to be Christians, have never read it in its entirety.... I can just assume, that you didn't take the 1 year plus of devotion it would take... Someone who doubts biblical accuracy has never read a history book. The correlations to actual history and proven science are unbelievable (The bible said the world was round before "scientist"). That is, if you've studied/read the bible. The people who think the miracle of childbirth is a "blunder" of Mother Nature..... obviously haven't 1)experienced it for themselves 2)are being distracted... In either case. They're wrong. I respect your opinion, I just don't agree.

Big Ol' Hairy Religion vs. Athiest Debate

I respect the opinion of those who've had it with organized religion. But on the other hand, you can't say you don't believe in something that you haven't read. eg: If I said, "I hate the NY Times", but I only hated it b/c my mother/father/friend hated it.... that's not a good reason By the way, several scriptures in the bible explain the responsibilities of a child toward parents and miracles are 1/100th of what the bible is... it's a guide for living, and understanding the universe that was created for us. It gives counsel on relationships, child-rearing, dealing with anxiety and life, and helps us understand our purpose. Without the bible and its instruction, well...... just look at what's happening to America's youth.... My challenge to those who say they don't believe is... try it. Why is it that people "believe" what they see in the news, but can't believe that the Earth, or humans, as intricate as they are, have a creator? If you saw a watch on table, it'd be foolish to assume that it just came together by "accident"........ so how in the world could a baby be created by chance? THAT is unreasonable....

Why doesn't being "skinny" fix it all?

I think life changes, good or bad, just magnifies what was already there. Change is stressful, but usually ends up being a great character builder. Your transformation is inspiring and nothing short of amazing. Good Luck to You,

    Loosing my hair

My hair always falls out.... I eat vegetables, take my Vitamins, and have used all kind of hair products (my big sis is a hairdresser).... But, yet and still... It fell out during the planning of my wedding (stress)... It fell out 5 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter Taylor... It fell out 2 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter Antonia... and it will probably fall out again, due to band surgery.... Thank God for hair extensions!
  25. I voted ....within reason..... But, yes, I'm in love with a BIG (*wink*) man.... he's bigger now, than when I first met him, and could stand to lose a few pounds for his health, as should I, but I'm more in love with him now....than when I knew the "skinnier" him... I think its your connection that counts, at least for us. And while it's been 12 years and 60lbs since I met my husband..... I'm still in love!:kiss2:
