You know I havent had to pay for a single visit to the doc since my surgery. I wonder why that is. I should ask well better yet I should just go with the flow bc my co-pay is 30 for surgeons. I think they overcharged me and thats why I havent had to pay bc I looked at the bottom of my sheet and it said pt balance +$320..well shoot I want that money back! -
OH and for the supervised diet you have to see the doc at least once a month...if you have bcbs. Go to your insurances' website and look up their requirements for weightloss surgery. Lap band will be under there and it should tell you step by step what they need before you can be considered for the surgery.

I guess it could be considered bandster hell. Im sure everyones definition of bandster hell is different. Remember though you didnt have the gastric bypass the band takes more time and YOU WILL EVENTUALLY GET RESTRICTION DONT GIVE UP :wink2: I would call your doc and tell him. My doc told me if after 2-3 weeks you have no restriction call me and we'll get you in!!! Crap you paid (or insurance) big bucks for this surgery so your doc should be more than willing to help you!!! If absoulutely no restriction call him today! He may tell you to wait another week or he may say I have a cancelation come in today!:) -
You have to do a medically supervised diet plan where the md charts your weight and does a note about what youre doing to lose weight his suggestions to you etc. Like I did adipex and the lipo injections.....MOST Gyns wont do that now you can use your weight history from your gyn.

WOW, 4cc in the first fill...pretty aggressive. But hopefully for you that means having to go back less for fills!! My advice is to remember to go SLOW-your fill may not kick in right away but when it does take it easy! Everyone is different and you have to find what works for you. I was telling someone the other day that I sometimes when I start eating sometimes I have problems but if I wait about 10-15 min then I can eat no probs.....strange. So its like if we go somewhere I'll take a couple of bites take the rest and eat it when we get home....but anyhow I would def avoid breads and pastas until you heal from this fill! GOOD LUCK TO YA!!!!:smile2: -

I have heard of ppl doing this. The ppl that I know that were able to do this had federal bcbs...that may be why. MOST insurance companies require the whole diet, weight documents, etc. It really just depends on the individual insurance company and if you call they can tell you everything. Or if you search around their website you can find written policies on wt loss surgery. Sometimes what they tell you over the phone is different. Good luck to ya!! -

JASON-when was your fill...didnt you just have one recently. I wouldnt give up on steak just yet bc your stomach could still be a little swollen. There are a lot of things that 1 day I can eat them and the next day I cant. For me I LOVE sushi...but unfortunately some days I just cant eat it but if I come back to it the next day or a few days later I can eat it no proble. Steak is one thing that I havent tried since my last fill......honestly I wouldnt care for one. I guess bc I am AFRAID it will cause problems. I tend to avoid stuff that I even remotely thing might make me sick. Anyhow cant wait to see ya sunday!!! -

What is the pouch test? -
I wanted to tell you about this website that I found. Its www.realage.com You go to the website and spend about 15 min answering questions. It looks at health, habits, relationships, diet and fitness. At the end it calculates your "real age" based on your answers for example a friend of mine is 50 but it told her that her real age was 61 and then gives tips on how to improve your lifestyle to reach your actual age or younger. I am 26 and got a realage of 25.3  but it still gives me tips like it said I dont eat enough fruits so it give tips on how to improve your fruit and veggie intake. At one point it said I drive too fast so it gives your info about how driving can be stressfull....etc etc. Thought you might find it interesting.

Does your DH or SO know how much you weigh?
kaninag replied to cQQlgirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My DH didnt know my weight until recently. But I finally decided that I wanted him to see the results on the scale of what I lose so I showed him and he was like wow I thought you might weigh *such and such* which is about 50lbs less so that made me feel good. Anyway hes really supportive and its funny cuz now hes gaining a little (hes not a big guy at all) and I told him that he was gonna have to stop eating my leftovers... -
I take pills no problem. Now I have to take them 1 at a time with a minute or so rest in between so that I dont develop a problem. But I take several Vitamins and stuff for allergies. My doc said that pills generally will pass thru no problem just dont take a handful at once..lol I have recently started taking an antibiotic for strep throat and it is a horse pill...I cut it in half. I havent even tried to take it whole...no sense in making myself throw up and have that awful medicine taste...that would be REALLY bad.

I absolutely love mine!!! When I'm bored working out upstairs I just go to the living room and do my wii bc its so much fun!! my favorite is the hoola hoop

I was able to wear panties but was told that they had to be 100% cotton. As for the runs post-op no but I slept ALOT the first couple of days after surgery. But when I started eating in the mushies stage its like I stayed in the bathroom. The frequent BMs I was told was caused by your stomach being irritated. Now I have probs with constipation...any hints to help with that let me know :tt1: Hope this helps and your questions werent silly

Yeah dont freak out if you gain some...this is the time to worry about healing...not losing. That being said I'm sure youve done good. Good luck with your fill. I dont know what your doc tells you but I would advise going back to liquids or mushies after your fill. Cuz your stomach will swell initially and you'll be tighter those first few days. Let me know how much he puts in. -
I had heard that the dance dance rev. was awesome I was thinking that that was going to be my next buy! As for working out with the Wii to me its fun and I'll actually do it...its even got my husband motivated I woke up this morning and he is already playing...lol Now that the weather is nice I am going to pull my bike out of the basement and start riding.
