If you find that the fill is too uncomfortable for you ask them to give you the numbing cream. You get a prescription and put the cream over the site 1 hr before your fill cover it with 4*4 piece of tape or clear adhesive remove right before your fill and wipe off...you dont feel anything! I have never had a fill without it and I have never had any pain!! -
Well dang Im glad you called bc I would have been PISSED to go up there and there be no class!! Alright well Im def going to the one in bham this month!!!!!

Yeah I had to really push him to give me more fills. Im with you wish he was more agressive. Im finally at a good spot with my fills but my goodness it took like 5 fills in all bc he kept putting in 1cc here and there. This last time I got him to put in 2cc and it is perfect. Hope to see you at the support group meeting next week!

YAY to the just wear at home drawer!!!!!!!! HA I would have to say I may have you all beat on the weighing daily. DONT LAUGH OR THINK IM CRAZY- I weigh as soon as I get up in the morning, before I eat breakfast, when I get home in the afternoon and before I go to bed....I know that is completely insane but its what keeps me on top of my weight. When I was at my family's house for thanksgiving after I ate I got on their scale....hey I didnt pig out by any means but I did have some YUMMY squash casserole :cursing: But I know that if I go 2 or 3 days without getting on the scale I will gain...so you know. And Fordgal Im like you I dont change my ticker until Ive been at that weight for at least 2 days. -
Hey, are you in the Anniston/Oxford area? I havent been to the support group meetings at Stringfellow yet. The only one that I have gone to is in Bham (went once) and I found it very helpful they really just talked about everything from diet to exercise to what to expect. I learned a lot in a very short time frame. Im thinking about going to the one at Stringfellow next tuesday. You should go. I know theres another guy on here from Gadsden that said he'll prob go. Everyone needs a boost from time to time

See, in my thought process I would think that you gaining would increase your chances of getting approved. I think as long as you do what youre supposed to and fall within the guidelines you'll be ok...I actually got denied by my previous insurance. LUCKILY our insurance changed over at the beginning of the year and I reapplied and was accepted. When I started the 6month diet I had no intention of having the surgery. About half way thru when I stopped losing weight I started looking at other options and I found out about the lap band...so for me I was half way thru doing what I needed to get approved before I even knew I wanted the surgery. I actually needed to gain 2lbs to have the correct bmi....theyre really strict but as long as you show it on paper youre good!!! I think the whole point in all of these requirements is to weed out the ones that arent really serious. If you go thru this horrible process they feel like you are more apt to lose the weight and get healthy and trust me the only reason insurance companies are paying for this is bc they feel it will save them money in the long run! -

I have wished SEVERAL times that I had the bypass....I'm doing exactly what Ive done with all my other diets...lose great at first then stop usually I then start gaining it back. I havent started gaining which is good but I really thought this would FINALLY be my thing you know....Im exercising now, eating good drinking water....I mean what else is there that I can do? I barely had a crumb of pie for thanksgiving...now normally I would put on the holiday 5lbs and I didnt do that this thanksgiving but still....I wanna lose 15 lbs by Christmas...I just dont see it happening...its so discouraging. -

I remember my port being tender for a couple of weeks at least. Its like if I would stretch or something I could feel it pulling and it was just totally uncomfortable that all goes away! The only thing I have now is when I lay on my left side i feel something rubbing...its like my tubing is rubing on my ribs or something...it is the strangest feeling. -
I think that our goals are things that skinny ppl take for granted....So yeah they may seem simple but I think theyre awesome and definitely fun to laugh at bc I have so many of the same goals and its nice to know we're all in the same boat!

Girl you are getting in an awesome amount of protein but you REALLY gotta work on that calorie intake. Below about 900 calories and thats just on average our bodies go into starvation mode. Meaning that your body will do all it can to hang on to every little calorie that you eat...YOU WILL NOT LOSE weight that way. Remember that in your case more is less!! If I were you trying to heal I would bump my calorie intake up your body needs the nutrients to repair itself. I would aim for AT LEAST 1000 calories per day if not more right now!! You can do it!!!:thumbup::eek: -

The ONLY protein stuff that I have found that I can tolerate are the protein bullets or protein slams from GNC. They come in flavors like fruit punch and grape. I just got the fruit punch the other day and they come in 27g and 47 g sizes....I got one of each to see if there was a taste difference and there is the 47g get into the nasty category with every other protein supplement but I can tolerate the 27g ones....they have that protein taste but the tangy flavor of the fruit punch overpowers that and I put mine in the fridge. Congrats on everyone doing well!!
