WOW, just reading your first post I was so worried for you. Im glad this had a happy ending for you. I have the 14cc band and have 6.7cc and am planning a fill on monday....Ive started filling reflux symptoms if you dont mind me asking what did your doc put u on? Did he let you take something OTC or give you a script? again glad youre doing good.

AH I figured it was probably publix. The nearest one to me is about an hour away. Theyre supposed to be putting one about 30min away which Ill drive 30min to go to publix....I LOVE publix its like if they dont have it they dont make it...lol

Yall are both doing great!! Just remember that the lbs didnt pack on overnight (even though it seems likeit) so if def wont come off that quickly!!! LOL Keep up the good work!!! Weight loss slowing is an understatement...lol its like stopped all together..yet again. I knew this would be difficult as I have always suspected that I have the metabolism of a rock..lol. Yes my fills are stilled covered by my insurance...as far as I know they always will be. but my docs office overcharged me so they owe me money anyway..lol. Ill just have a copay once they no longer owe me money. Im gonna go just bc Im not losing and I feel like I can eat things that I really shouldnt be ABLE to eat and we'll see how it goes....Ill just get unfilled if it becomes a prob...besides I have a new goal for JULY and if I want to be on the beach I gotta get this wt off

But yes I am a nurse I am actually a home health nurse and I absolutely LOVE it- you pretty much set your own schedule with home health andyou make a lot more money than you would in the hospital! My weight loss is slow as well...but like you I am thankful that I am not gaining. I am however TORN...I cant decide if I should get another fill or not.....Sometimes I feel like I can eat and eat and eat but like today it took me forever to be able to get down a 1/2cup of soup...of course it is TOM and I hear the band is tighter for some then....Any thoughts I just dont want to start throwing up again and a lot lately when I eat lunch my food HURTS going down...I guess Im not chewing good I have an appt for 1/5 for a fill but Im thinking about canceling it.

You felt that sensation because what you drank mixed with your food and then it all tried to go down at the same time. When you drink after you eat it makes your food mushier and slide thru the band faster but it also can clump it into a big ball and then when it tries to slide down thru the band it hurts like hell...if you dont want the pain and you dont want to risk throwing up then I wouldnt drink while you eat!-not being mean but thats why they say dont drink and eat! I did that too in the beginning and got a butt chewing from my doc...some of us have to learn the hard way :tongue_smilie: good luck toya!!

I have been having port pain...It started after I really started doing a lot of sit ups...Ive kinda laid off that some to see if it would get better but now I am noticing discomfort at my port site sometimes after I eat...it feels like it is being pulled on...Any ideas?

I had my surgery in January. No probs until recently-my port is bothering me. It doesn't bother me until I eat...but after I eat (and its not everytime) it feels like my port is being pulled on. Its pretty uncomfortable. I've felt my port and it doesnt feel like its moved or anything...Any ideas? It doesnt seem to matter if Ive eaten just some Soup or even some chicken so I can pinpoint that a specific food is causing the discomfort. And rarely it will do it after I drink something. Usually after I have drank a good bit though......Thanks for any advice!!

any thoughts? I go back to the doc on jan 5th for a fill I guess I will mention it then I just thought someone on here might have an idea.

I called today to make an appt for a fill...Jan 5th I was hoping to be able to get it next week but I'll just have to wait I guess :thumbup: I just really really hope that this doesnt end up being too much.

Shawna it was very nice meeting you sat! OK-I need opinion. I think Im gonna have another fill I have 6.5cc in 14cc band....when I got my last fill I couldnt eat bread or pasta and maybe ate (when I ate bad fast food on the road) 4 chicken nuggets. NOW I can eat bread if I concentrate on it, I can eat a whole 10pc and not FEEL full, Last night (Im training on a new job) I came home BEAT so we got arbys---I WAS ABLE TO EAT 2 reg. roast beef sandwhiches (ignore these bad eating out habits we dont routinely do that)....I said oh Im just hungry bc I didnt take a lunch and was STARVING but thats crazy I shouldnt be able to eat that much plus I notice that I dont stay full as long.....so I think I know what everyone will say but I wanted to get opinions about getting another fill...I already have a lot in my band and I am really worried about getting overfilled and being miserable. I havent lost anything in awhile and Im exercising.......but I dont wanna be yacking either. SO Im def torn.

For thanksgiving I usually have a plate FULL of food and then get a plate full of dessert. This year I picked out 3 of my favorite foods-broc casserole, squash casserole and a deviled egg--I did have 1 bite of caramel pie....food just doesnt WOW me like it used to. Granted last night at a christmas party I had a little more than I did for thanksgiving but still no where near as much as I usually do.... I remember at thanksgiving (my dad forgets that I had the surgery) and he kept asking was something wrong with the food and why are you picking at your plate....I had to remind him that this is my way of eating now. I just didnt realize until this yr how much we use food to celebrate--for Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years, EAster, Mothers and Fathers Day, 4th of July, Labor day, family reunions...all of it for my family at least always centers around food.......not for me anymore!

That would be great! Sometimes I think we help each other out more than the docs do...lol.

Enjoyed the meeting today! I hope that I get to make it next month-school starts Jan7th and I have to do clinicals every other weekend. Hopefully it will work out so I am off that weekend!

Have you ever had an IV infiltrate? Meaning that your vein went bad or they missed your vein when they did your IV-It burns like ******* saline wouldnt feel too good going into your tissue. You'd def feel a difference if it went into your tissue!! Give it some time itll kick in :thumbup: Everyone ready for Christmas??!!! My port is bothering me something awful these days ....I am much more aware that its there where before it didnt bother me at all....I have been working out a lot more but it really only bothers me after I eat..........strange and Ive gotten sick twice this week already after eating :biggrin:

OK Ive got another pain question. After I eat sometimes I get pain in my lower left abdomen kinda close to my port.....it feels like a pulling pain like after youve run real hard and your sides hurt...any ideas?

Does the pain happen after you eat? I have pain right there sometimes in spurts after I eat then I know I didnt chew that bite very well. And it is possible that your stomach is still irritated from the fill. Is it any better? Hope it goes away!!!

debbut-Im glad to see that I am not the only one that has crazy dreams. I get up all the time and tell my husband about my latest crazy dream and he just looks at me and says have you lost your mind where did you even come up with that....I think sometimes he wonders if I really am crazy LOL. Everyone got big plans for Christmas?? I cant wait til the next meeting.

I always thought that I was 5'7" but when they measured me for my ht and wt turns out Im only 5'6" wich worked out bc if I was 5'7" my BMI would have been too low for the surgery.
