HeatherO youve done great!! Happy Bandaversary!!! I can't believe how fast this last year has gone by and even more I can't believe that I actually had weight loss surgery!! Asked me 5 years ago if I thought I would ever have an elective surgery I would have looked at your like you were crazy..lol I would do it all over again if needed. I love my band. Its been a great tool and I really hope to be at goal by July...ONDERLAND here I come!!!!!!!!!!!

I keep seeing how much more than me others have lost as well but I tell ya I am proud of my 67lbs!!!! Happy Bandaversary to us!!!!!

I was wondering if anyone ever got on the Jan 08 support group portion anymore. Its great to be a year out...I was banded 1/31/08 weight loss for me has been really slow until these last 2 months...these last 2 months I think Ive lost about 20lbs or more. What is January's slogan..I mean Ive seen a lot of the AUGUST ALLSTARS..so what is january?

I am completely addicted to the scale....I was weighing, in the morning, when I got home from work after I ate dinner and before I went to bed....I have had to limit myself to just once a day...its really hard for me not to step on each time I see a scale or walk into my bathroom. But I have learned that hard way that if I dont weigh I gain very quickly...luckily for right now I am losing it very quickly.

I started a weight loss program with md with no thoughts of surgery and about 2.5 months into it I stopped losing AGAIN as always and I just so happened to see a comercial for the band and I was like OMG thats for me (I had never heard of it) I stayed on the internet that whole weekend..learned everything I got and saw an MD the next week....then I just had to weight the last 3 months to finish my md sup diet..that was the longest 3months ever :cursing:

Amberstar thats AWESOME!!! I think it means the most when it comes from someone close that youve been waiting to hear them say something good about your weight loss and then they finally do..mucho congrats on that one...!!! My mother in law is the same way shes never really said anything to me about my surgery....until she was up for last weekend...she was like stand over there....I moved over and she said I can really tell a big difference. youre doing awesome...lol WELL MUCHO CONGRATS!!!!

For some reason I have a hard time remembering what day and time the seminars are its at 1030 on Feb21 is that right?

I have heard a lot of GREAT things about dr. groves and dr. britt!! I wish that I would have looked around more for docs. I like my doc dont get me wrong but I didnt receive a lot of education prior to surgery and everything I have learned since then has been from seminars in bham and I was banded in anniston. I def recommend the lap band to ANYONE!!

It woke me up last night...this full feeling or pressure feeling in my throat...and its doing it now since I have gotten up....I ate at 5:30 went to be at 1030 and honestly I didnt look to see what time it was when I woke up..I just added another pillow to my stack and went back to bed. *I did burp but no improvement...any thoughts? This has never happened b4.

I was banded jan 2008 (indicated in my sig)...had a fill jan 5th this year of .5cc with a total of 7.5 cc in 14cc band...I am eating fine...no real probs eating yesterday. I cant eat solids until lunch...liquids for breakfast. I have good restriction. I didnt have any pain yesterday no probs before I went to bed. I dont take anything for reflux but I'll start.

We're glad to have you! Where are you going to the seminar at? I was banded a year ago and would do it again if I had to! I too looked at other options like the gastric bypass but the mortality rates are higher. The lapband to me is one of the safest options! You'll do great! GOOD LUCK!!!

:blush:Thanks susan!!! I'd never thought I would be able to tell others about my experience but I find myself being asked a lot by ppl who are considering lap band vs gastric bypass which way to go or why I chose the band...and its great to be able to share!! Thanks again!!

I was curious how others like myself kept track of wt loss, water intake and calories consumed. I personally use myfitnesspal.com. I weigh everyday and record my food intake everyday. Ive found it a very useful tool...so what do you use?

Same thing here its like I'll weigh in the morning and then when I get home in the evening its less...used to be the other way around.

Yeah I was thinking about being 1 year out yesterday and it feels like I just got started. It really doesnt feel like its been a year. But Im happy that Ive been able toget the weight off I hope to be to goal by June :thumbup: Well, Happy February to everyone.. :thumbup:

I dont understand the logic of this so maybe someone can help me...Mon-frid I get up early usually around 5:30 so by like 7 or8 I am STARVING but on the weekends I sleep maybe til 7 or 8 sometimes 9 but I can go until like 1 or so and have to make myself eat....Whats the deal why is it so different maybe I need to sleep late everyday.

So I got new clothes yesterday and didnt have to spend any money My husband bought me several scrub sets about 2 or 3 years ago and I have never been able to wear them....UNTIL now !!!!!!

Its great that Dr. Freeman did a good job on you but I wouldnt recommend him to anyone...I used to work in the hospital in which he did all his surgeries and lets just say I have some horror stories about him (all first hand) and his surgeries! There are some good seminars in Bham at St. Vincents EAst that a lot of ppl go to and there are some at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital in Anniston
