    Bodybugg users report here!

I just received my bodybugg. However, it requires a username and password which I don't have - I ordered it through 24hourfitness.com without signing up online with an account first. I can't seem to get the correct person on the phone to set me up. I hope I can get this resolved today... Hey Cosean, the username and password for ordering and the username and password for the bug are different. The bugg user name has to be created from scratch. There should be a cheat sheet instructions that give you the web address so you can start the process. You need to go to that web site and create a new profile and register the device and all that. That is one thing that I have learned about 24 hour fitness. The Corporate office, Health clubs, 24hour web site and bodybugg support are ALL SEPARATE support groups and have no idea how to communicate with each other.

    Spanking

I am a 35 year old father and take the same approach as my father. I waited for my kids to do something really bad (painted my car with spray paint) then I wore them out. They haven't been spanked since and it has been 5 years. Spank them once and then live off that memory for 15 years. I still threaten them with "you want another spanking like that one you had" and it seems to get there attention.

How many steps per day with pedometer?

Jachut, As soon as I read your post in my email I knew it was you. I have read about every post you have made and admire your work ethic and your results. I don't think I can put as many miles on the board running as you do but who knows if I am not carrying a 80 pound fat jacket I might surprise myself. In 2000 I completed the South Lake Tahoe marathon and I walked most of it and ran some so that is my long term goal once again. So what is your high and low on steps?

The Biggest Loser - good or bad?

Maybe if all of you devoted a little more of your TV watching time to exercise you wouldn't be in this situation. You don't have the "time" or "determination" for exercise but you have "time" for TV and the "determination" to get a Lap-Band. Let me get this straight. You found this web site and created a user profile and then searched the 10,000+ post and this is what you come up with as your one post to society? I think we have a new biggest loser and If I see anyone else using quotation marks in the "wrong place" I will know it is you. Moderator: Please send my "be nice email" now.

How many steps per day with pedometer?

I measure with a bodybugg and average between 10 and 11,000 a day. When I called bodybugg for my assessment she was surprised that I marked myself at sedimentary but had that step count. I am going to shoot for 15,000 a day once I get the band, at least that is the plan.

    December Surgery Dates

Well the days are slowing rolling by as I wait for the big date and I have ran out of thinks to research. I really hope come Dec 3rd we can start leveraging everyones experiences starting with CarolK1 and the Parrot. This is going to be a great group to lean on because we will all have started near the same time and can succeed together. Here is what I am doing here lately. Read this board nearly everyday because the wife is sick of hearing about the surgery and I need to turn somewhere. Since I am a low BMI (35) I have eaten at every restaurant and my debit card looks like a who's who of fast food. I know this is not making the choir easier and I am not making excuses. I am a self pay so failure is not an option after Dec 18th. Debating on who to tell and who not to tell. I have told my wife and my boss and that is it. I don't want the pressure on me if the weight doesn't just fall off and I have larger friends that have had the lap band and seem to take offense that I was even considering it since I am 282 and 6'3. I am 3 weeks away and I find myself buying different exercise equipment (Bodybugg)and planning out my exercise attack plan. I just bought the perfect push up and have researched a rock climbing gym of all things. Take cares and sorry for rambling but I am ready to get this on. Dr K in Colorado is paid up and everything seems to be ready to go. We are starting out as the Merry Losers but by next Christmas we will be the biggest losers. Who is with me?

    Exercise questions

One thing I've noticed though is that my belly area is actually starting to push outwards again. Hi Manatee, That is a tough question but If I were in your shoes I would stop training the abs if that is what you are doing. I know that core training is important but if it is starting to bulge out then you have done enough. There is no way to exercise and target certain fat areas. For example you can do 1000 crunches a night and not get a 6 pack. You have never seen a guy with man boobs and a 6 pack. The reason is that you cant target an area for weight loss you only get total weight loss over the entire body which ends up giving you a better stomach. As far as the plateau I would try to add squats to your routine. That is one of the best exercises because it fires up 200+ muscles in one movement. Make sure your routine changes completely every 4 to 6 weeks. If you are lifting weights now then you should be biking and swimming next month. Then after that hit a rock wall climbing or some outdoor hiking. Sorry I am rambling but you have to shock the body to avoid the plateau.
  8. Hi I'm scheduled with Dr. K for December 11th. Yeah!!! Hey Tarheel, You are going to have to tell me how it goes since my surgery week is right after yours. I have got nothing but good vibes so far so I am excited. I am debating whether I should rent a car or take a Taxi ewverywhere but I just dont know since I am on my own. Will I even be able to drive myself home after the surgery? I doubt it.

    Exercise

HEy Guys, I get banded on Oct 23!!! I have a gym in my house I never use of course my wife and kids use it. I have a treadmill and a bow flex. CAn someone give a specific exercise program I can do THANKS... Listed below is a link to the mens health web server where they store different work out posters. I printed off everything that ended with .pdf and used those as a workout plan. There is even a shopping list of food you should buy when you go to the store which will help alot to. I took the workout posters to Kinkos and had them laminated. Index of /media/MH_Static
  10. Hello Friends, My surgery with Dr. K is scheduled for Dec 18th and I can hardly wait. I have a BMI of 35 and I am 6'3 285. I am also flying into Denver by myself and getting this done on my own so that is also a little nerve recking. I have slowly gathered all my things for the trip from heating pads to gasX and now I am just waiting. I am curious to see how the remote fills go and how many trips I have to take but I have confidence that DR. K will take care of me. I fly into Denver on the 17th of Dec and back out on the 19th so here I go....

    What's in your home gym?

Here is what I have in my garage, Weight bench and 300 pounds of weight. I don't use that much weight but hey it is there. I also have a treadmill but at this point I haven't used it much. I just bought the perfect pushup because I want to do push ups but hand placement has always been a pain.

    Actitrainer vs. Body Bugg

I can only tell you about the Bugg since it is the only one I own. If you are on a limited budget and cant afford a reoccurring cost then the bugg is not for you.The bugg requires a monthly subscription so that is something to consider. I have heard that the bug can be worn different places but I have only worn it on the right arm as suggested. The main important feature is that it is dead accurate. The most important information for me is the calories burned since really that establishes the baseline to lose weight. The Bugg is just like anything else that runs on a Microsoft computer. It plugs into the computer, then go to the website and hit download calories and it imports the information via USB connection. I am wearing mine pre band to get a base line before my surgery. Once I get the surgery I will start entering the food that I eat since it will be alot less than what I eat now. I burn on average 3500 calories a day and that is important to know. It also tracks the steps you take in a day and puts everything in a graph. I even wear it to bed and I can tell on my chart if I tossed and turned all night and that is neat to see the detail. After about 2 or 3 months of selecting and building a food list you can print off a grocery list and take it to the store. The web page basically adds up everything you would need for an entire week of eating. The web site also allows you to keep track of your measurements and gives you a chart and can even tell you what day you will hit your goal based on your intake. If you dont want to enter all of your food the web page does estimate your intake based on your weight and measurements week to week so that would work for some. The Best thing: Like I said it is accurate. I can get up for a glass of Water and see my calories pop up since I am moving around. The Bad: The monthly cost.

Do You? You know use that word!

Don't tell me to keep quiet in an open discussion, whether it be vocal or typing. You are ridiculous to think that I would keep quiet after that statement anyway. If you don't like what I say, or if you just cant handle it, put me on an ignore list or something. I don't force you to read what I write. I intrigue you though, you want to know what is going to come out of me next. I am your entertainment, your little delight. Im not suicidal, Im barely bi-polar. If you are not suicidal then explain your comments posted: "Ive resisted the urge to hurt myself for 2 YEARS!! I cant believe that, that is such a milestone for me! Not even one suicide attempt in OVER 2 years!" http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f15/suicidal-thoughts-obesity-12272/index7.html That is the great thing about being online. You have to stand by your statements whether you have multiple voices talking to you or not. I would not be surprised if you have not even been banded and that you are basically using this web site as your "therapy sessions". If you go back and look at your numerous postings you seem to derail every conversation with your Jerry Springer comments and lifestyle. You have been pregnant for 3 years and you have more postings in the "off topic" area than you do about the lap band. Stop using us for therapy and get a life. Oh one more thing, stop watching Hannibal Lector. Your postings are weird enough.

Do You? You know use that word!

Jodi Warner, I don't understand why you are so outspoken considering your condition. Do you expect people to take life advice from someone that has repeatedly admitted to being suicidal and is Bi Polar. I don't want to be to harsh but being a 20 year pregnant suicidal Bi Polar girl is not a strong position to debate from. You act like you have more worldly experiences than people twice your age. The reason that I am being borderline mean to you is that you need to keep quiet. Not necessarily online in the chat group but I hope you are not ranting this idealism in person to people. You actually typed out that you hate Martin Luther King. What the hell is wrong with you Jodi. I don't need some long rambling excuse on how you justified that comment but please try to filter what those voices are saying to you.

how many people never need a fill?

I wonder if just having the band resting against the stomach is enough? I am sure I still have some swelling because I'm not quite 5 weeks yet. You know I was thinking the same thing. I have seen a surgery video and I think the band itself could give you some restriction.

    Bodybugg users report here!

I am thinking about getting a Bodybugg. I have gotten most of my info from the thread, but I haven't read it all. I have done a little research online. Hey Skyblu, I am using Dr. K for my surgery and it is scheduled for Dec 18th so I would be really interested in your experience. I got my Bugg last week and since I haven’t got banded yet I am not using the food logging functionality as of yet. The main thing that I want to know is how many calories I burn day to day while not doing anything but my usually routine. Then when my doctor puts me on the Pre Diet/ Post Diet and then different fills I know what my baseline is. I burn on average 3500 calories a day so when I get on a 1200-1500 calorie diet I have a good idea of my calorie loss. Is it easy = The online program basically boils down to three parts. How many calories did you burn today? This is completely automated and you click one button to get how many calories you have burned. The second is the food logging and if you want to log the calories then you can get your difference. The third part is the physical fitness tracking which I haven’t used yet. I think there will be a point where there is not going to be a 2000 calorie deficit in your every day calorie count and you will need to know the exact calorie intake and what you are burning. Just remember no matter what you read or what changes in your life 3500 calories equals 1 pound of fat. My plan is to know when I am going to lose weight and not leave it up for guessing week to week.

    Bodybugg users report here!

Hey Buggers, Can you guys post some of your numbers so I can get an idea of some usual averages? I burn 3500 calories in 24 hours and that is all I am tracking right now pre band. My surgery is Dec 18th. One question I was curious about is does your calorie burn pace slow down once you start dropping pounds. It makes sense that you since you are no longer packing 50 to 100 extra pounds right?

    Bodybugg users report here!

I have more friends that want the bugg. I noticed too that the website will take that coupon code and take $50 off yet says in red the coupon's not valid. So do they have to honor the discount if they put it up there? Has anyone received a new online coupon code? Where the heck do you find those anyway? I purchased the Bodybugg and the watch for 265.00 two weeks ago and that was almost a 40% discount. I also tried to use the coupon but it has been invalid now for three weeks or so. What I did was set the 24hour fitness website as my home page and day and night would check the price. In three days I saw the bug go from 229.00 to 349.00 to 189.00 and then I jumped on it. I ordered it so fast that I did the fast check in which later came back to haunt me since I didn't get a tracking number. My advice is to sit tight and wait, check it often and it will go down. I would go ahead and get a customer login but then wait for it to dip in price.

    Bodybugg users report here!

are you on the right view? there is "Today" "Yesterday" "Target" and "Trip" Thanks Losingjus me, I don't think there was anything wrong with the bugg that I ordered I just had a hard time believing that I was burning 3500 calories in 24 hour period with out exercising but after doing some research on the bodybugg website the numbers seem normal. I just cant believe that I consistently eat more that 4000 calories which is what it would have to be if I burn 3500 doing nothing during the day and gain weight.

Do You? You know use that word!

I disagree, ask any of my black girlfriends if they would rather be called the "n" word or the Big C bomb! Are you crazy? Ask Kramer (Seinfield) what happens when you use that word. The N word can/will follow that idiot forever. The guy has been on the most popular TV series in the world and was loved by everyone and then gets up and does a comedy routine and calls someone in the stands that word and the next night he is on Jay Leno apologizing to the masses. Ask Dog the bounty Hunter who is now in the same boat as Kramer. NO doubt the C word is a bad and I know what you are saying. If you are on the street and you want to make the ultimate insult for a Woman that is it. The difference is that if someone overhears that comment and tells your boss you dont lose your job, get branded as a racist and have the media cast you out. Name one time in world history where the C word caused anything but a street fight? History is riddled with people that have used the N word and lost it all.
  22. Livingthe Dream

Do You? You know use that word!

The "N" word is the most powerful word in the English language and I do not use the that word and teach my kids that it is inappropriate no matter what the setting. Can you name another word that if it is used incorrectly (meaning whites that use the word in any setting) can completely ruin your life? Now if you work at a Sonic in Tyler Texas thats one thing and I guess you don't have that far to fall but those in the corporate world it would be a fatal mistake. I don't care how you spell it either street slang or the dictionary spelling it still comes across as racist. These days people will forgive you for using the Lords name in vain before they forgive that word. I don't think I am racist because all types of people annoy me equally. Whether it is the booming car stereo going down my street, the pants hanging at your knees or the idiot that has nascar stickers all over his truck and is trying to draft off my SUV. They all ignore me equally. :rolleyes:rolleyes:

Having my band day in December :)

Hi Guys, My surgery is Dec 18th and I am getting excited. I am right at 35 BMI so it is weird because I have to keep eating to keep from getting below that. I am not complaining but a week prior my doctor (Dr K in Colorado) wants me on a low carb diet which I can do no problem.

    Help !!

I'm sorry, I hate when I post questions and people don't actually answer my question. I do know that an important part of buying an elliptical is how the machine is designed and your body placement. I have heard from the folks at my rehab center that the cheaper ones put a strain on the knees. If you want to really shock the body and get your weight loss moving along I would recommend the squat. If you can do it with weight or without but that fires up 200+ muscles in one movement and should help.
