2nd fill...is this how i'm supposed to feel?
Skinny_Jill replied to bandster_1007's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I felt that way after my first fill. I can't chug anymore. I can drink just fine but if I drink to fast I feel it. I'm sure after my second fill I will sipping only. -
Feeling full, stuffed, or not wanting to puke
Skinny_Jill replied to Justin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've only felt stuffed a couple of times since being banded and that was when I had no restriction and ate too much pizza. I got my 1st fill one week ago today and I feel satisfied after I eat but not stuffed. I was a serious over eater before being banded. I loved eating large quantities of food and I was afraid I would fail with this band but I am truly satisfied. I know this is all still new to me and I really hope I remain satisfied with the amount of food I am eating. -
That happened to me also. You are still recovering and your body is adjusting. It has only been one week. I'm sure your doc will have answers for you.

I've never heard of Big Medicine? What channel is it on and when? -
I take one Flintstone's chewable every day. Adult dose is only one tablet. It has iron. Can't remember how much but it was the same as Centrum.
-
I was on a low carb diet before surgery. It wasn't bad.
-
I wasn't told to give up caffeine either. I was even given tea at the hospital after surgery. Coffee and tea are my doc's list of liquids for that phase of recovery.

In need of motivation BIG STYLE
Skinny_Jill replied to bunnykin4u's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If you keep pb'ing you are going to damage your band. I think you should get an unfill so you won't be miserable and you can eat. I got my first fill last Thursday and I am doing great. I get a small pain if I don't chew well enough or take to big of a bite but I haven't thrown up at all. I feel like my band is doing is exactly what I thought it would do. It allows me to eat but not eat too much or too fast. Get an unfill so you can enjoy your band. -
A couple of questions -feeling unsure
Skinny_Jill replied to BarbBee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had the same problem before my first fill. I could eat anything and it went down just fine. I wasn't eating as much as I was before the band but my weight loss stalled. As soon as I got my first fill (last Thursday) the weight started coming off again. I have decent restriction with my first fill and I've lost 3 pounds in 6 days and I even drank some beer and champagne new year's eve. Keep exercising and do the best you can. -
I love your attitude and totally agree!

I am going to go to Dr. Spivak's next support group. I haven't been to one yet. I definitely think it will help. I look forward to meeting you there.

Hi Texas Bandsters! I was banded by Dr. Spivak 11/20/07 and so far so good. I got my 1st fill 12/27. My weight loss had stalled before the fill but now my weight is dropping again.
-
Hi! I've been wondering the same thing. I live in Sugar Land and was banded 11/20/07 by Dr. Spivak. How are you doing?
-
I got my 1st fill on Thursday. I've been on mushies since. Today I had a 2 egg omlette and I ate it slow taking small bites and it went down fine. Eat slowly and listen to your body.

Justin, It has to be your decision. I would say that most of us that were banded were miserable before surgery. We didn't like our bodies and we were unhealthy. We truly wanted to lose weight. With that being said we all love food and always will. We just look at it differently. Why are you having surgery? Is it for your health? Also keep in mind that you can control how much restriction you have with fills. If you want to eat bread and steak then less fills for you. If you want to kick up your weight loss then go get a fill. Good luck with your decision.

Gaining before first fill :o(
Skinny_Jill replied to livelovelaugh's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have a 10cc band and no fill at time of surgery. I got my 1st fill yesterday of 3.5cc. I know I have restriction but I get hungry every few hours. I am following the rules and only eating mushies but I really want something more. I am back to normal food on Sunday. -
Gaining before first fill :o(
Skinny_Jill replied to livelovelaugh's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The band will never help with ice cream because it will always go right through the band unless you are too tight. The band only works with solid food. You will have to break that happen on your own. Throw it away!!! Right now you have no restriction. I went through the same thing. I stopped losing weight as I introduced real food but I didn't gain any back. If are truly hungry then eat but be sensible. I would eat yogurt or a pudding cup when I was hungry between meals. -
Does $17,000 Seem too High for this surgery??????
Skinny_Jill replied to JaxFab44's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I paid $12,900 in Houston. 17K does seem high to me but I guess it depends on where you are. -
Nymphs..How did you do today?
Skinny_Jill replied to hollyberries's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I ate too much over the holiday but I told myself ahead of time to eat what I wanted within reason and I did that so I am ok with it. I got my first fill and I am hungry. I hope this fill kicks in and I am not hungry. -
I was also hungry 4 or 5 days after surgery. It is normal. I did not let myself starve though. I would eat a little bit of yogurt or pudding and it would help. Good luck!

Poll: Do you miss diet soda?
Skinny_Jill replied to Anyalee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I gave up Diet Coke for 3 weeks after surgery and then I started drinking it again. I don't drink as much as I did before. I am getting a fill today and I am going to give it up again. -
I also still get that pain ocassionally. It isn't too bad. It is actually more annoying than painful. I hope it stops soon.
-
It's me. I am very happy to have lost the 2 in front of my weight. I am now 199. Even though it is only 1 pound it feels like a 100. That was my first goal and I did it. :whoo:
-
Kristin, Congrats on the loss and the restriction. I have no restriction and it is driving me nuts. I am going for a fill on 12/20.
