It is possible that you are a tad too tight. If you keep getting that feeling go back to your doc. Being too tight can cause damage. Listen to your body. Good luck!

I didn't count the first few years but I had to do something to lose the last 30 pounds. I did WW and now that I am at goal I monitor my food closer than ever. I had to get a partial unfill and I immediately gained a few pounds. I have to count points or I will gain weight. It seems that those that track in some way do better in the long run than those that don't. Good luck to you!

It Is for people that want to reshape and do away with a little pudge. It doesn't help with loose skin. My skinny sister-in-law had it done. I wish it were that easy. I am recovering from a tummy tuck and lower body lift.

That is very normal. You are lucky it took 2 weeks to start. I was hungry on day 2. LOL Once you start getting fills it will help. Just be patient and follow your doctor's instructions because you are still healing. Any weight loss before you have restriction is gravy. I had a tough time befor I started getting fills. I lost weight but it wasn't easy. Good luck!

I'm Too Picky For Liquids????
Skinny_Jill replied to allik07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hated that stage. I was very hungry and it sucked. That phase was not fun but I lived through it. I don't like those types of food either. I ate alot fat free refried beans once I got to the mushy stage. I went to full liquids in day 2 and mushy foods were a few days after that so I wasn't tortured for long. Good luck! -
Can Anyone Tell Me?

There is an Allergan 4cc band and it only holds 4cc of fluid. I have the 10cc band. -

Everyone gave you great advice. Stick to the clear and full liquids. I remember being very hungry and not very happy but I stuck to the liquids while healing. It is important. I am sure that you are fine but follow up with your doc as soon as possible. Good luck and let us know how you are doing. -
I have no problem swallowing regular vitamins. One A Day has petite vitamins. They are a bit smaller and you take 2. I have never had problem swallowing pills but I can't keep down liquid Tylenol or Nyquil. It comes back up in a matter of minutes. Kind of weird.

Keep it up! -
Be sure to take Vitamins, drink plenty of fluids and get some rest. You are still healing. I assume your surgery was 07/01 since 07/11/12 isn't here yet. LOL It is normal to feel run down and tired. Good luck!

Tips To Jump Start Metabolism At Plateau?
Skinny_Jill replied to Electrawoman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have been banded for 4.5 years. I lost 60 pounds and kept it off but couldn't lose the last 30. I finally got serious last year and I lost it. I eat very little at night and that was the biggest difference for me. I would what ever I wanted for lunch but very little and sometimes nothing at night. I didn't exercise because I was recovering from knee surgery. I got below my goal weight. I didn't think I would ever get into the 120's. Good luck! -
Sore Throat, Not Feeling Well, Kinda Sick To My Stomach...
Skinny_Jill replied to ☠carolinagirl☠'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It is funny but I can't liquid Tylenol or Nyquil. It comes right back up. I have never had issues taking pills. Even when I had good restriction. I even have issues with liquid cough medicine. I think because it is thick. I don't know. I hope you feel better. -
Hi! Congrats on your success! That is great! I am doing great with my band too! I finally reached my goal weight towards the end of 2011. I had a tummy tuck, lower body lift and breast lift almost 3 weeks ago. I lost a total of 93 pounds (some days it is only 90). LOL I had to get my band loosened about 6 weeks ago. I was having some reflux and I knew it was too tight. The band doc did a test last Friday to make sure my esophagus, band and stomach were ok and they are. He ran a camera up my nose and down my throat to my stomach. It wasn't pleasant but at least I know everything is good. I will be getting a fill in a few weeks. He took out so much that it is like I don't even have a band at all. That has been good for the tummy tuck recovery because eating healthy is important for recovery. I do feel very blessed that my band is good and that I have not had any major issues. I've been reading a lot lately about people with band issues. Very sad. I am also a WW member. I am a lifetime member now which is cool because I have been doing WW for many years and could never reach my goal weight.

Band And That Time Of Month
Skinny_Jill replied to ☠carolinagirl☠'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
When I have good restriction my band would be tighter during my period. -
Don't be so hard on yourself. It usually takes a few fills to actually get to good restriction. It is hard when you don't have restriction and you are still hungry. It will get better. The band does not instantly work. It is a tool that has to be tweaked in order to work properly. I remember how frustrating those days were. Best of luck!

I Got My Band 8Months Ago And I Have Only Lost 40Lbs.
Skinny_Jill replied to ace11's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It sounds like you are right on track. The band doesn't guarantee fast weight loss. You are losing at a safe, healthy rate. Keep up the good work and keep living a healthy lifestyle. It will pay off. Best of luck! -
I Get what your saying but I think I looked horrible before I lost weight. That is why I got the band. Pure vanity. I am proud when they say I look better because my goal was to look and feel better. The health aspect was 2nd to me. Try to take it as a sign that the weight is coming off and be proud.

I will put my arms over my head and stretch. It doesn't help but somehow I think it will. LOL I've used pineapple juice and it helps. It has bromelein in it which is used in meat meat tenderizer. It also a natural anti inflammatory. I have put sone meat tenderizer in some Water and sipped it and it helped. When food needs to come up it comes up all by itself for me. I've only had to stick my finger down my throat two or three times. Good luck.

Pictures, Scales And Mirrors!! Oh My!!!
Skinny_Jill replied to smellslikecoffee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good for you for starting now. The band can't do it alone so it is good to start good habits now and you will be closer to goal when you are banded. I was banded 4.5 years ago and I reached my goal weight about 7 months ago. I lost 90 pounds. I lost 60 and kept it off for a few years and then got serious and lost the last 30. I had a tummy tuck, lower body lift and breast lift 2 weeks ago. The band is great and I am a new person. I weigh pretty much every day. I usually know the result before I step on the scale. I've learned how fun affects me. Sometimes I am surprised. Even with the band I can gain some of my weight back. I refuse to do that. Only weigh daily if you can accept that there are times that you do everything right and you still slightly gain or don't lose. There are times you will not lose but your body is adjusting and it will happen. You are on the right track. Best of luck to you! -
It sounds like you are on a special post op diet. That should change. You should be back to real food soon which includes meat and veggies and carbs. You are still in the healing phase. I am 4.5 year post op and lost 90 pounds eating normal food. Good luck!

I never gave up caffeine. I've never heard of this before.

Slow weight loss is not unsuccessful, it is just slow. Slow weight loss is good for many reasons. You will get there. Be proud of your success! I was a slow loser. It took 4 years to lose 90 pounds. I am now recovering from a tummy tuck, lower body lift and breast lift. My life has truly changed. The 1st 60 pounds were easier to lose than the rest. I had to get serious to lose the last 30 pounds but it was so worth it. Keep it up. It is worth it!

I feel really well at 2 weeks post op. I went 8 hours with no pain meds today. I sat up all day yesterday and today. You should be fine flying home at 2 weeks. Tomorrow I will be out and about most of the day so that will be a big test. Get lots of rest and you will be great.

Congrats! I love my band! I was banded 4.5 years ago and have lost 90 pounds and just had a tummy tuck, lower body lift and breast lift. The band changed my life and I wish you the same success. Good luck to you!

Looks great. The inner thigh lift is the last thing I have left to do. Today is 2 weeks since LBL, TT and BL for me. The swelling takes forever to go down on the TT and LBL. When are you flying home?
