    Vitamins

I buy my calcium citrate with d3 from costco, chewable and gummy multivitamin and they work well. Also Mr Dr told me to take the Iron, calcium and super busy complex at different times of the day and they all compete to be absorbed and you might not get the levels you need. I'm trying to see what others here find to be a time. I have been getting conflicting times from my surgeon, pcp, and nut. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  6. Hi all Sorry it's been so long since I last posted. I have been doing well, too well in fact haha. I've lost over 200 lbs and my Dr wants me to stop losing and drink high calorie shakes. So to go back, 3 week after surgery i had that contained leak and was doing better after that, then I got cdiff which was caused by all the antibiotics they gave me in the hospital. That was a pain, alot of diarrhea so they gave me more antibiotics lol and I also took prebiotic and ate yogurt and took t ok me to get back to normal. I should say during this whole time I had no appetite at all and had to force myself to eat. The loss of appetite is caused by the cdiff. So in the beginning of September I was getting my appetite back but slowly and this is why I think I lost so much weight so fast. Also during this time my gout kicked in big time and my Dr said I could take naproxen but limited and I also take allopurinol. Well I only had taken 3 naproxen over three weeks then they changed it to celebrex. So in November I was wanting to eat more, I couldnt. I could only eat soft foods or Soup. Mr Dr ordered and upper endoscopy and found the stoma had closed half way due to the nsaids. So they were able to open it back up at the same time and boy does it feel good to be able to eat better. The Dr thinks it might be closing again and to stop the celebrex. The reason why I was still on it was the Dr said that even though it's an nsaid it delivers it in a different way than normal nsaid are in the body. But it should be an easy fix again. Anyway haha that's how I've been, not a bad time. So any good suggestions on high calorie Protein Shakes? Any questions please ask. Haha hope you all are doing well too.
  7. Nancy mine tastes have changed alot too stuff that I hated before I now like and vice versa. My appetite is still gone I have to force myself to eat I just don't get hungry at all. Otherwise I'm doing good. So far I've lost 105lbs. Since may 11th. Wish everyone the best.
  8. Hey all again lol. Just a question when you say chili is that like hormel chili no beans or with beans?
  9. Hi all, I am back just checking in to let you all know how I'm doing I've been doing pretty well the doctor finally put me on a pured diet last Thursday so this Thursday I get to go on regular food again yay. I'll tell you before I was depressed and questioned this whole surgery thing but now going with my gut feeling before that it was the right decision. so far I've lost a total of 70 pounds which I'm surprised cuz when I was in the hospital for ten days they were feeding me intravenously so I thought that would have completely stopped me from losing weight. but I'm getting all my protein in all my liquids in I still feel weak and tired a lot but my doctor says that's normal because of the procedures I had when I had to go back into the hospital. Which was the computer guided CT scan where they put a 22 inch needle through your rib cage into my chest cavity to drain fluids and they did that 3 times. anyways I just want to say hi and good luck to everybody and hope you're all doing well and I'll be checking in quite regularly more often I just needed a big break to focus on myself.
  10. Hi all I'm back for the moment I've been in the hospital for 10 days ic had to take a break from everything hospital stay is been really tough. I've been kind of depressed and feeling that I made the worst mistake of my life because this pain is truly horrible I mean it's unbearable. So I have been staying away because I didn't want to be a Debbie Downer for you guys but having said that I am feeling better I think my depression was just the scariness of what could happen and feeling very lethargic. but the last few days since I've been home I've been feeling a lot better I feel with more protein I'm getting more energy and I'm getting that excitement back. since being admitted I just felt like I've been run over by two trucks. anyway I'm feeling really well and then yesterday I weighed myself and I am down to now 375 plus another additional 25. Since I went into the ER so I'm feeling better about that and I'm I'm generally feeling better about the overall surgery again I just taking a break from everything. sorry there's not much punctuation in this it's because voice recognition.
  11. Hi all thank you for your thoughts and prayers, doing good for the moment. a little bit of discomfort and neck pain but I still also have some liquid and air trapped in my stomach it was like doing the surgery all over again. so he's going to check my CT scan today well another one and tomorrow if he might let me go home tomorrow. He will have a nurse come by every day to feed me through the PICC line. For some reason I just can't help but feeling like I never should have done the surgery. The doctor said this is a statistic that rarely ever happens but it does happen. so keep your prayers up for me and keep me in your thoughts and we all will push through this and it goes without saying that I love all you peeps here on this gastric bypass board
  12. Hi all I'm still in the hospital and putting in a PICC line so they can feed me true that for two weeks after I go you go home. doctor says no food or water through my mouth for those two weeks he says it will heal the spot and is leaking
  13. They have been giving me dilauded and it does work so far only percoset is the only thing just.barley working.
  14. This is worst pain imaginable that I have ever felt and I thought gout was the worst. Lol. Imagine being over inflated like a basketball. Lol I asked can't you just insert a tube to release some pressure? They do it for the brain and the lungs why can't the do it for the abdomen.
  15. Hi all thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Maybe some good news, the bariatric surgeon looked at the CT scan and.said it is a localized and contained leaked (what ever that means) but I won't have to do the surgery just.stay in the hospital for 4 o4 5 day being fed intravenous absolutely nothing.through the mouth to give the leak time.to heal.
  16. Ok ct finally done. Dr reviewed said there is lots of air in my abdomen so there is a leak. They will have to go in and see where the leak is. Cause its been three weeks and all the air should have ben adsorbed. Pray my me my friends
  17. In er now the did a chest x-ray and dr says looks like it is ruptured. Ok shocked I've been doing well sticking to the liquid diet. I was super constipated last night and pushing hard so the dr said that could have done it waiting on a CT scan to make sure he said it could also just be gas.
  18. Hi all. Was doing well up to this morning I woke up with a pain in my shoulder which goes up to my neck and head and when in sit up and drink water my abdomen feel like it is on fire. If lay down it goes away and if I stand and walk my abdomen hurts bad. I called the surgeon and he said to give it a hour and if it don't go away then go to the er. Anyone e else feel this?
  19. When I proposed the original question (Thread Topic) I never thought it'd get so many responses. Everyone obviously is welcome ❤️❤️❤️lol what are they? Yes yesYou should be fine I focus on carbs too, but sometimes you just gotta. Ok good.. It's 100% sugarfree and very yummy.
  20. Wish I could say the same. Having a hard time getting protein and fluids in. If just protein or just fluids , I can do it. But both is difficult. Your doing well with your weight lose. Feels so good to know the weight is coming off. you just have to stay vigilant on taking drinks every five mins. Use a timer on your phone. This is what I am doing. It was hard at first.
  21. Hi all. Been doing great. Got all my protein and water in easily. I thought I was done with the liquid part on next mon but my paper work says 3 weeks of that and the 3 weeks of pured... ugh lol but I see my surgeon next week so I'll ask him about it.ive now lost 25 lbs since surgery. Highest weight : 530 Surgery weight : 424 Surgery date : 5.11.15 Current weight : 399
  22. Ok my sister just made her goat cheese sausage mac and cheese. I was seriously like I'll take some then remembered I can't have it yet. 1 more week of this liquid diet then I can have pure foods.
  23. luckily I haven't had any problems with the incisions they used glue on top of them and they also gave me a stomach wrap like a elastic binder to wrap around my body help with keeping it together.
  24. Actually not feeling hungry at all and I'm suprised I thought I would have cravings for food and sweets. I haven't had any hunger pains. I weighed myself today and I'm 9 lbs down from Monday.
  25. Is it strange that I have been dreaming of scrambled eggs and country gravy? Lol
