Thanks AtlSpeedy, You are going the right speed here! I will pray you get an initial approval. Waiting for insurance approval is the pits thought! I had been doing so great with my diet ...then my paperwork was submitted and under terrible stress and holidays I caved and have gained...yikes...I am scared to go back to the surgeon next week and see the numbers higher.... Anywho.....What I am trying to say is be prepared mentally when you submitt to the insurance....that's all....!

StLouisGal when is your date I still see at TBA on your signature.???! What's going on over there in StLouis? Wouldn't be awesome if we got the same date!! No preop from what I was told at initial consult but that can change when I go for my second consult on Jan 30 after the surgeon reviews all the lab testing results. I am still putting myself on a liquid diet for 5 days prior to surgery just so I can mentally be ok with it. After reading so much about the liver this and the liver that....I'd rather help the situation even if not required. How about you do you have a preop diet?

kaninag, from my experience you can't wait for the doctor office to do the follow up with the insurance company. It has to be done by you! Call them up, say my doc office was waiting on a call back...never got the call so I am following up....document who you talk to, what dept their in and time, and what the conversation was about.

oh wow. an enlarging heart is something to be extremely concerned about. Your doctor has probably encountered this before. If I were you I would do a free consultation with another surgeon don't say what the other surgeon suggested and just compare opinions. I will definitely keep you in my prayers so that he will bring forth the option that is best for you. please keep me updated.

Thanks rumar, I do not eat any vegetables other than the ones on the list. You can eat up to 5 times daily up to 3oz each time. It is up to you how much you want 3oz or less. I have done this and broke plateau within 2 days!

Sunrise!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I AM VERY EXCITED FOR YOU~~~!!!!!!!! I have read PCOS gets better once you loose the weight. I would recommend you do more research. Remember bypass will give you the loss effect fast and drastically on your body. How does PCOS react to the bypass? Once you have lost the weight because of the malnutrition how long do they require you to wait to become pregnant? If you do become pregnant what are the statistics/research for PCOS and bypass patients during a pregnancy say? I don't want to be critical or take sides here. I am asking the kind of questions and answers I want evidence of if I were in your situation. And indeed I will pray that GOD gives you the revelation of what is best for you and your future family. anyone have a good pre-op surgery list?

My pcp letter was awesome! He detailed my weight history, and determined future problems I am guaranteed to develop based on family history and current rate of weight gain. He also included documentation of all my records I provided him where he explained I have had sucess on self paid medically supervised programs the last 5 years....lost all my excess weight and reached normal even close to being underweight.....but never was able to maintain. All depends on the letters & reports your physicians make. Oh and my psychologist even thought he did not put his license number on the report and delayed me-I must say his report was excellent. He covered alot of ground as to current underlying conditions that we go thru being overweight that my pcp was not able to include. Have you submitted to insurance yet?
